Luci (played by Minerva)

Luci grinned toothily--fangily, almost. He quickly sealed back over his lips after startling an old lady who had been glancing his way. "No, it just comes naturally, love." As for names, he rubbed the back of his neck. "I try to keep my--" he glanced to and fro, avoiding any other prying eyes and dropping his voice, "...Eh, I try to keep identity conflicts out of the limelight." It was one of the few things he kept obscure from the yellow-sheets. He much prefered to keep Brian Muriel distinctly seperate from his street life, or as much as could be allowed. "You know... work and play need to stay seperate, and all." Even if what he considered either could be very odd.

Speaking of odd, Jihan's forthright words in public drew a furrowing of Luci's brow in confusion more than anything, eyes darting from him, to the crowd, to Chiara as he pursued his lips. With his eyebrow still twinged together in surprise, it hoisted subtly as he settled his gaze on Chiara. "Unusual, aren't you?" He paused, rubbing his back as if remembering an ache. Context, context! Clearing his throat, he was eager to move on. Perhaps the public eye was a bit too strong for his taste? He was already considered a madman.

Still, he mulled in place, never too fond of staying still for long and needing to sway and toe at the ground. "Of course not this for Daddy. As I said, the gentleman's line isn't eye catching enough when in a room full of suits--that was just my point, it does little good to advertise if I end up lost in the crowd; the suits are best reserved to confuse the local raves with! I've added a mild personal flare to them to keep him from seeming utterly boring if I sculpt fashion right in advance, but if he does return he isn't the type for such blatant... expression. He's more... ah... suits or french fashion." He considered, gripping his chin as he took the brief stutter, almost sounding briefly like a foreigner. It happened time to time, rare as it was. English was something like his two hundred thirty-eighth language, regardless of how proficient he often seemed. More, he seemed to have brief trouble naming the culture that had otherwise wanted to spring off his tongue. "I've considered giving it another name than My Angel, even if it will come through our offices and company. My Angel has always been more... personal. My Devil, or Demon, perhaps?" Bad, bad joke, though not entirely accurate. Not as catchy as its predecessor though. "...Now I want to listen to Fleetwood Mac." He began finnicking with his phone absently while maintaining conversation.

"I've sported the female line now and then, but I decided against causing too many heart attacks here. ...That fun used to be reserved for Lode Corp functions." He paused, then frowned. "I never thought I'd miss it." You know, babysitting a world dominating monopoly and everything. Somehow he'd grown fond of it--or at least some of the pandemonium he got to occasionally cause. He often wondered how many times he would have stopped Lode's heart if it hadn't already given up the gusto a few centuries before their meeting. But now, Lode was exploded--and it wasn't even blood pressure that had caused it. Ignore his brief pout. "...Besides, the female line sells itself far more easily on a runway; the male styles are more due showing up in news and photographs."

...Hopefully his being unusually longwinded hadn't bored them.

He glanced to Jihan, considering. "Pampering me already, I see." He pondered, "There isn't much to fill me, but if there are either meats or desserts, I'll take part--just not together." And he doubted they were serving fresh maiden. He'd come to fundraisers all the time were that the case. Chocolate, maidens and meat. "Though I warn, I'm much less charming when I mimic Atomos. Treat me as you see fit." Chiara was free to place her own order.

"And don't act like that, Chiara. I did help with Lacey's dress. Hopefully she doesn't hate me for my absence. Tell her I said hello?" He looked almost innocent and pleading, or as close as he could get -- much less when someone knew him. "The swordplay... mm. I may be deft, but you would be better off asking Poppy for that; ranged weapons may be Populus' primary focus, but don't exclude swordwork either. I am more the master of dodge-fu."

He spoke on plenty of casual topics until Jihan disappeared to fulfill their orders into the minor bustle of the crowd, leaning over to speak more quietly with Chiara. His earlier mix of concern and stifled confusion returned to his features. He had purposefully added vagueries to the order to add some time and hesitation, and a chance to talk to her, even cutting off mid-sentence or into Chiara's replies when it seemed clear. "Where did you find this guy?" He whispered. "I thought the blueberry lord was my dark reflection, but... he never used exploding orphans as coffee-clutch conversation. That totally took away my horny. Do you know how hard that is? Now slap me to make it look like I was flirting." or for mentioning his horny. That works. "Do it. Do it." She was likely the type to be too reserved. Maybe if he goosed her--like so. Tweak.

Chiara must have gotten a very wrong read off of Jihan. She had thought he'd enjoyed Luci's zany outfit, but she must have been far off the mark. It's actually Jihan's words that have her looking a mix of worried and confused. It'll quickly slip away, and she'll listen to Luci's long speech about clothes. "It's too bad. I looked up last years women's line online. I thought it was quite lovely." But she hadn't bought anything, because...expensive. Her eyes would drift to Jihan, "As I'm sure you've already figured out, one of...Brian's..." The name didn't slip well off her tongue, "Many jobs is designing clothes for an exclusive company."

As for Lacey's dress, "That isn't quite what I had in mind, but I suppose you did. And as for swordplay, you know she wouldn't have time for that." She couldn't even remember the last time Ferous had stopped by for a casual visit. "Anyway, Draeval already took care of it. I only asked you because you had offered lessons."

Jihan surprises them by offering to get refreshments, "A glass of wine please?" As long as he went to fetch that, she would return her attention to Luci, and her cheeks colored, "He's a paid escort. I heard about him in the tavern. I didn't want to come to this event alone. I think he was joking. He was joking right?" As for Luci's horny, she'd wrinkle her nose, "Please keep those types of thoughts to yourself. I don't need to hear the word horny coming from you ever again." She's shaking her head when he's asking her to slap him, "I'll just act li--" But then he's pinching her butt and she'll let out a loud squeak. She's laughing, but her eyes suggest murder. "Please stop."
Jihan (played by CrescentNomad)

Jihan had a rather dark sense of humor. But it was only when he was given an opportunity to use it did it actually come to light. Luci's jest had been one such occasion, and he seemed far less bothered by it than the other two. He'd smirk towards Luci, electric eyes focused on the male. "Unusual is one way to put it, yes." Although rarely did one find anything more complex or strange than a djinn. He turned to gain the wine that Chiara had requested, tear drop jewels swaying and clanking together as he moved. So he had managed to get under Luci's skin? While he was unaware, he likely would've smirked at such a notion. Despite his usually charming nature, he had a mischievous streak in him that even while he was 'working', had a tendency of showing up.

Once he had taken the wine for Chiara, he gained a glass of his own just to try and fit in more. He shifted and returned to the pair after they had murmured something to themselves. Holding out the wine to Chiara, he dipped his head politely in her direction. "There we go my dear. I hope it is suitable." He brought his own glass up to his lips for a casual sip, nodding his head as he finally responded. "Clothing design? Fascinating. I fear I really have no knowledge on the trade. As you can likely tell, my business is more suited to the...carnal ways of the world."

(Sorry short, blanking a bit LOL)
Luci (played by Minerva)

Her lack of physical repurcussion drew a smile that... probably made her skin crawl. In the very least, it held typical devilish undertones. Still, the impish gaze deflected to Jihan as he re-approached.

It was hard to truly put Luci off. In many circumstances, he wouldn't have blinked. Infernal pantheon? Sure, you expect that. Privileged social party with his very subdued in-law? Not where he would have expected such an outburst. Consider it a conflict of interests, much like identities.

"...Ah. Carnal escort." He chuckled. He couldn't particularly judge, considering some of his methods of bartering in his personal shop. He chuckled. "That eventually gets difficult to fulfill... costs. Best of luck in that endeavor." He spoke as one who's walked that road before. There were odd alternate routes he took for the same task. His lusts were many, not only sexual; to lust was to crave, and he was certainly no stranger to fulfilling cravings.

"Well," He took a mild bow, "Not to distract you from your escort." He offered dangerous wink to Chiara, flashing a set of serpentine whites from one side of his crooked grin. "He has a living to make. I'll be nearby... if you need me." Well, after probably TRAUMATIZING her, he would still be keeping a watch. Because Athena would probably be pretty pissed if he let something horrible happen to Chiara, and he would rather avoid that. Oh, and he's capable of doing good things at times.

Still, he was stepping away, seeing as Chiara was probably ENTIRELY uncomfortable now.

Chiara wasn't all too comfortable alone with Luci especially with him looking at her like that. Still, he'd stopped and that was what she'd asked for. Jihan was coming back with wine, and she'd take it "Thank you." Jihan's comment had her blinking, "You seemed fairly concerned about your clothing in the carriage ride over." She'll take a sip of her wine, only to nearly spit it out at Luci's parting barb. "Yes. Take care." She'd try to muster up a smile for him, but it was weak at best. Something about Luci just rubbed her the wrong way entirely. Most of the time she couldn't decide if she wanted to be nice to him, or slap him across the face.

She's alone once more with Jihan, and she'll return her attention to him. "I've known Brian for awhile." It was still hard to say that name, because she'd never once called Luci that. It was difficult to explain their relationship to each other, so she would just leave it at that. Things were a little awkward now, but Chiara tried her best to steer them in another direction, "So what do you like to do for fun? When you aren't working?" They had a moment to themselves, so why not talk to her escort some?
Jihan (played by CrescentNomad)

Jihan bowed his head towards Luci as he decided to take his leave, for the moment at least. He hummed a moment "Interesting fellow." He wasn't sure how to put his finger on it, but Chiara likely had a multitude of peculiar acquaintances. Not that it bothered the djinn any. He then smirked. "When it comes to my appearance, I am very precise. This is especially true when I am set to work. Looking sloppy or unpolished is a bit annoying, you see. But as for the clothes I wear now? Simple pick from a catalog, and no I did not purchase it." He'd release a low chuckle. "I am a mimic. Simply I see what I wish to wear, and I wear it. To be technical, right now I am as naked as a new born baby. But under the illusion I present, I appear fully clothed." He certainly hoped she understood what he meant. He'd press his lips into a thin line, electric eyes scanning over the crowd.

"Truth is, I do not have much in the way of hobbies. Being an escort is the only life I know, you see. Before this I was a farmer, if you can believe that. But such talents have long since left my line of sight, in exchange for what is important now. I have friends I converse with, or partake in random activities and such. But when I am not working, I am bored. If reading does not satisfy me, I tend to get into a bit of...trouble." That was one way of putting it. "An idle djinn is a dangerous djinn, as they say. Thus I keep myself busy on purpose. I cannot say I am too terribly interesting." Bobbing his shoulders in a quick shrug. "What about yourself hmm?"
