So I was blocked by someone, and I have no clue why. A couple months ago we had talked briefly about starting an rp, and then after a few messages, they stopped replying. Then, earlier, I tried replying to a forum post they made, and that's when I found out they blocked me. And I'm extremely confused.

Idk what you want to hear, but if you're blocked, all you can really do is move on. It's clear they don't want to associate with you for whatever reason, so respect that.

I've been in your situation before. It's not that much of a deal. If they want no contact with you they just don't. There are plenty of other people out their to rp with.

Kidd is correct. People are free to block anyone they want for whatever reason, and the only thing you can do is move on from it. It sucks when you don't know what the reason is, but pursuing them for answers is considered harassment. Moderators can't help you either, as there was no rule broken and it's within the individual's right to utilize the block feature on anyone they want.

It's extremely difficult to block anyone by accident, so unless you're getting messages from them wondering why you're not responding, it's safe to assume they want no interaction with you any longer, sorry.

If you knew them briefly, then move on. Some people change and pull these stunts.

It can be very upsetting to be blocked and not know why. Heck, it can be upsetting to be blocked and know exactly why! In both cases, it feels extremely final, like there are no second chances and no way to correct the situation. So if you feel angry or sad or confused, don't beat yourself up for feeling those things. It's totally normal.

As others have said, moderators can't force someone to talk to you if they don't want to talk to you, and can't function as your go-between as that would defeat the purpose of having a block feature.

Unfortunately you may never know why you were blocked. It could be anything, including things that don't have much, if anything, to do with you. Though, it may just be that you two had drastically different ideas about how the RP should go and they didn't know how to reconcile it. Rather than dealing with an awkward thanks-but-no-thanks conversation they just used the block button. Some folks are awkward like that. I wouldn't sweat it.

This happened to me recently as well you barely knew them so it's best to just move on

It's happened to me too from people that, so far as I know, I've never even interacted with. Is what it is, lots of fish in the sea, and since there's no way of knowing why, just find new partners .
