No, you didn't read wrong. A gelatinous cube is a corrosive monster, and I'm far too meek to wield a blade against those beasts. Not to mention they're rarely found in my part of the world, the UK, so I thought I'd start small and work my way up.
I've been roleplaying since I was old enough to talk, and smart enough to lie. My love of fantasy is as deep as my love of unhealthy foods, my one true vice as I don't smoke and rarely drink. A bit like a cactus when it's not on fire. I'm a gamer at heart, and a programmer and 3D artist as a hobby. I have a dream that I'll happen upon a fortune allowing me to dedicate my entire life to my hobbies, but I'm sure that dream is shared across countless billions around the globe.
Roleplay games I've enjoyed include Dungeons and Dragons, World of Darkness, Paranoia, Pathfinder and Corporation. My favourite genre is fantasy, but I also appreciate dystopian futures and sci-fi a great deal. D&D taught me never to pull on a dragons tail. World of Darkness taught me that making an entire wall invisible was a really bad idea. Paranoia taught me that friend computer is the best (help me). Pathfinder taught me to respect the law and Corporation taught me that espionage isn't always as easy as it sounds.
I look forward to sharing an ale with you all, and trying not to become dragon dung. Cheers!

What a wonderful introduction, friend! Quite interesting!
Would you like to roleplay sometime? Hit me up and let me know
For now, let's enjoy the ale

Why welcome fellow food loving gamer hobbyist! I've personally never participated in any DnD or tabletop games in general (not for lack of want), but it's always good to find creative geniuses finding their way to the site.
Is tabletop the only roleplaying experience you have, or have you tried forum RPs before? If you need any help around the site at all, please do ask away.
And as it's barely past noon here in the Netherlands, I'll have to pass on the ale. I'll have some tea instead.

Welcome Herald!
Quite the introduction you have there, I am impressed!
I'm really glad that I recommended RPR to you, there are so many lovely people I have met on here and so many worlds that have been created.
When I joined it was called the "friendliest place on earth" and I have figured out why!
Can't wait to start an RP with you. Have a great day!

Howdy. Interesting introduction you got there Hope you enjoy your time here
Hello and welcome to RPR! I hope you make lots of friends and enjoy your time here!
D&D, World of Darkness, Pathfinder... Now you're speaking my language! So good to meet another person so invested in these worlds, settings and mechanics! Welcome to RPR!!!
Welcome to the site, and thank you for that fantastic introduction. I feel like we're old friends now.
I've been playing most of the list of games you named for a long time now, and very recently gathered up my courage to start DMing, and it's been an absolute blast.
Are you primarily a tabletopper, or have you enjoyed forum or play by post RP before?

What a wonderful and warm welcome for my first post. I thank you all, lads and ladies. As easy as it would have been to simply write a simple 'Hi', it doesn't make for interesting reading and I do like to make a good first impression.
This will be my first proper foray into post RP, being largely a tabletop RPG player and former Dungeon Master. I thoroughly look forward to joining you all on your adventures and polishing the dragons scales in a bid to win its favour (and to not become a roasted meat treat).
Thanks once again for the kind words all.

Hey Herald, welcome to RPR
Reading your topic title reminded me of the play She Kills Monsters by Qui Nguyen.
It's a comedy about a girl whose sister dies, and all she has left of her is her homespun Dungeons and Dragons module. She goes to a tabletop store to ask the 15 year old kid working behind the counter to play her through it. The scenes go back and forth between real life and the game's world.
A Gelatinous Cube is the centerpiece of a couple of scenes.
Anyway, welcome to RPR! I hope you're enjoying yourself so far.

I remember once when I was young, battling against hordes of assassins as I held aloft Excalibur. It was shortly after that my mother asked me to stop playing with the butter knife. I can see the parallel's with the play, Oaky.
Ah, a fellow gelatin slayer! Hail there comrade! No really, it's very sweet to meet you! I'm Lucree, but you can call me Lotus, Light, or whatever you like! Welcome to RPR!

This gave me quite the chuckle.
