It was a crisp fall night, and the full moon was glowing a soft orange against the night sky. The clock tower began to chime, midnight had came. Even though the streets were lit with oil lanterns, they were still dark and ominous. Shutters to houses were shut tight and locked, especially on a full moon night. People knew not to wander the streets at this time of the night, it was just asking for trouble. Creatures lurked in the darkness, even ones that were considered myths.
Arka could give a crap less about myths, in fact he kind of considered himself to be one. He had been warned not to come here, the fear of Van Helsing had a lot of demons on edge. He had laughed in response, no human could put up a fight against him. He wasn't sure about vampires or werewolves, considering he had never personally ran into one.
Now here he was, walking down the middle of the street. The clock tower still chiming away, Arka had kept count of the chimes and knew there was only three chimes left. The atmosphere was a bit creepy, slight patches of fog covered certain area's of the street. The alley ways were pitch black, with the occasional glowing eyes of a rat. Arka smirked as he walked, he could feel tension in the air which only meant something was waiting.

Perched in the window of his room overlooking the darkened street, Sterling was huddled deep in his trenchcoat as the last strokes of midnight tolled. He might have been warmer had his trenchcoat hung straight; instead it puckered and feel in odd angles--evidence of the stakes that lined its interior.
The crossbow in his hands had a bolt loaded and it was pointed casually out the window, ready for action if he should need it. As the dying echoes of the clock faded--a sound that could wake the dead--he forced himself to relax. Now was the time that the unmentionable creatures would emerge.
He glanced back into his room one last time, and then patted the top of his boots to check that he had his daggers on him. The sword he had slung over his back and the quiver of crossbow bolts hung at his waist. With a faint 'whoosh', he dropped from the window to the street below and began his midnight prowling.

Emily stayed in her room walking around. She was afraid of the night but she had to kill or she would go mad. She twirled her hair and smiled, her sharp fangs showing. The easiest way for her to get some blood was to date a guy and then bite them on the way back.
She walked through her door onto the roof of her building. She flew down and near the streets. She walked on them. She was more the afraid of the fact that there were others like her but more blood thirsty and thriving for a fight. Nobody under standed her

(Sure, as long as it's okay with Pen ^.^)
When the clock tower fell silent Arka could feel the movement in the air, and his instincts went wild. This was the thrill he had been looking for, maybe something out here could prove a challenge to him. He had a bit of a death wish, as one could tell by how reckless he was being by walking in the middle of the street. He folded his hands behind his head, his jacket flowing behind him as he walked through the fog. He started to whistle a tune, hoping that would draw attention to himself more.

(fine with me. )
Sterling kept close to the more civilized portions of the town. He wasn't stupid enough to be caught out in dark alleys. He kept the crossbow close and he patrolled by following his instincts. Which more often than not, led him to holding still and simply watching the shadows.
Movement attracted attention, and that was the last thing he wanted. At the moment, he might be mistaken for another vampire, but for the silver pendant around his neck: two crossed stakes bound with garlic. It was his mark from the Guild at having taken down two Master Vampires.
Feeling movement, he stopped again and waited. His crossbow was hidden by his shadow, a flickering oil lamp casting more shadow than light, which he took advantage of. His grey eyes watched alertly for an attack.

Emily walked down another ally and then she turned into the deeper town. She hissed at some people silently and then jumped into the shadows. She kept walking down the shadows and when she saw silver she stopped.
She looked at it and then the person wearing it. She scanned his body and then noticed. " he's a vampire hunter... " she whispered and kept her eyes onto him. She looked scared and was trying to hide it. She did not know if this person was looking for her or not.
She silently turned Into a black cat and walked across the streets. She kept glancing back at the guy. She stopped and cleaned herself so she could keep an eye on him. Her ears twitched as she heard more movement. She looked around but kept the guy in the coner of her eye.

Arka glanced around, wondering why nothing had jumped him yet. He frowned slightly, wondering if this was a wasted trip. "How boring.." he grumbled before going back to whistling. Though out of the corner of his eye he could see movement in the dark alleys. He smirked slightly, wondering what could be moving that fast. His red eyes glowed with mischief, if he didn't get a response in the middle of the street he would have to travel by alley way.
Emily felt eyes watching her, which meant trouble in her case. She decided it would be best if she left the hunter alone. She flicked her tail and started to pad down to the ally and into the town so she could get an easy snack. She felt weak and she knew she was.
She walked down a street to see a guy. He was not charming but it was always a luck to get a snack, even the ugly ones. She shapeshifted in the shadows and turned into a beautiful young girl. She made her way to the guy and smiled and talked to him. She walked with him until they were deep in the ally but movment made her get startled and she quickly bite his neck and drained him bone dry. She left his corpse in the ally and walked out into the town

Sterling remained motionless. He could see the vampire watching him, calculating its odds against him. And then it shape shifted and carried on its merry way. He resumed breathing again--unaware he had held his breath.
It answered one question: vampires were present. And so were other things. He moved swiftly down the street and stopped when he heard whistling. A tall, large man seemed to be its source. And Sterling brought his crossbow up; it never hurt to be prepared.
"It's a bit late for a man to be walking the streets at night," Sterling hailed from several paces. "Unless you have a death wish."

Emily turned into cat and hid in the shadows. She walked down to see the guy again but with a different guy. She took a deep breath in and scented the other guy. Demon and a vampire hunter, it will be a good fight. She hid in the shadows and watched them, talk.
Arka glanced up at the sudden voice, and turned to a man who was pointing a crossbow at him. A crossbow, really? Arka only smiled at the man's words, he could tell by smell alone he was human. "Maybe I do have a death wish, but as I can see with my own eyes I'm not the only foolish one here." he said, glancing down at the crossbow. He was not sure about the whole vampire and werewolf thing, he just knew he wanted to fight or die, didn't matter. He saw movement out of the corner of his eye again, recognizing the smell though it was mostly blood. It had been following him for awhile now, and the sight of this new man seemed to be upsetting it.
Emily noticed that the guy scented him and let a small hiss come from the shadows. She smelt the blood araise from her and quickly cleaned herself. She probaly just let them know she was a vampire but the vampire hunter already figured that out
Sterling noted the man's response to his crossbow, and he smiled. He didn't quite move the bolt off target. "Don't let this old thing bother you. Self-defense and all, what with death and destruction lingering out of doors."
He tensed suddenly, smelling a fresh, familiar scent. Blood. Crap, he'd thought everyone had turned in for the night! He began to edge his way towards the scene. "Vampires..." he muttered darkly.

Emily saw the guy and crawled deeper into the shadows. She kept licking herself. They both just figured out or maybe just one. She still didn't know about the demon. She cleaned herself and rolled in trash. She then walked out from the shadows and acted like a stray cat. She pawed at the trash on the other side as she padded over there
Arka had saw the man tense up, and when the word 'vampires' escaped his lips he felt a wave of joy flow through him. This was it, he was finally going to get to see what vampires were made of. "I do say it's my lucky night." Arka said, cracking his neck and turning towards the alley.
When a cat appeared from the alley he was a little confused, but his nose never lied. Even though the original scent was covered he could still get a faint hint of it. "Clever girl." he whispered, his eyes on the cat. He was a bit disappointed that the first vampire he met was female, he didn't like fighting girls it felt wrong to him. He frowned at the cat, deciding it best to leave her alone. It was apparent she did not want trouble, considering she was hiding her identity. He turned back to the man then, "So, where might I find vampires?" he asked, raising a brow quizzically.

Emily heard vampires and a snarl escaped her lips. She then turned into a tiger. She unsheathed her claws and then snarled " Why dont you look here " She said teeth bared, as her fangs showed but a necklace hang down from the tigers neck. It had a cross.
Sterling glanced at the man, his skin prickling. Of course he kept his crossbow trained on the cat. He had seen the vampire shape shift right in front of him.
"Where? If you smell blood, there's a good chance one's in the neighborhood. If you hear a scream, ditto. And if you wait long enough, you'll notice them lurking in the dark corners. Who are you that you should ask?" Sterling asked, stepping back to level his crossbow at the man again. There was something strange about him, though he couldn't place his finger on it. Not a vampire, not a werewolf, but something...perhaps, not entirely human.

Emily saw the crossbow pointed on her. She looked terrified and then jumped back into the shadows. She whispered " Please.. dont hurt me. I am to weak, please " She said in the shadows
Arka had been listening to the man and was just about to answer when the cat suddenly shifted to a tiger and then yelled at him. He blinked at first, so vampires had the ability to shape shift. He had to admit he was a bit envious of the ability.
He turned back to the cat that was now a very angry looking tiger. "Well that much is obvious babe." He said, giving a charming smile. Here came the womanizer side of him, he sometimes wondered if he should have been an Incubus. He casually put his hands in his pockets, letting her know he wasn't about to fight her. No matter what she was, she was still a female. So he would just have to learn about vampires another way other than fighting, because he wasn't about to spar to the death with a girl. "So tell me, clever girl, is it common for vampires to cough up fur balls?" he asked, genuinely curious.

Emily unsheathed her claws. " I will personaily tear your head off kill you, if you ask stupid questions. " She said angirly. She calmed herself down and hissed at them as she stared at both the people. * Are you ready Emily * Her cross spoke to her * I've been born to kick ass *.
She looked as she noticed the guy putting his hands away. She turned into a black cat again and put her head out of the shadows. " No, Im special. I am a shape shifter/vampire. Many of me dont live today. " She said watching him carefully. Was this guy trying to suck up to a vampire. Because at this point he was doing alright. Ussaly her dinner was not as charming as him.
