Cirrus took her phone, putting it into her pocket along with her journal. She started towards her own car and drove off towards her house. When she got there, she sat down in the living room and stared off towards the distance, thinking. She felt... no different than she usually did. She wasn't happy, that was for sure, but she just didn't cry. She knew that there were others crying, hugging their friends and making tearful promises. That's what everyone did on their graduation day.
Cirrus crossed her legs. She took out her journal, but she didn't feel like writing, which was strange. She preferred writing in her journal to any other activity. Well, usually. Perhaps there really was something wrong with her today. Some sort of denial, a shielding mechanism.
She reached over to her phone and idly checked her email, but there was nothing. She remembered that she now had Lazuli's number. She quickly sent a text over to him.
"Hey!"

"Hey!"
Lazuli was about to open the door to his house when a loud, ding!, interrupted him. He pulled out his phone and let out a small chuckle. He quickly typed in a reply,
"Yo."
Lazuli opened the door to his house and walked in. The first floor consisted of mostly materials for Lazuli's art projects. The second was his working space, while the third floor was his actual living space. He walked up to the third floor and sat down at his desk.

"Feel anything yet?" Cirrus wrote back, typing quickly. She shut off her phone and waited for a response, then restlessly walked upstairs and into her room. She flopped onto her bed, her head spinning from the sudden movement. She tapped her hands, waiting for the familiar sound of a message.
Lazuli frowned at the next text Cirrus had sent. He guessed it was probably about the new change that was coming. Lazuli's index finger flew over his phone.
"Not in particular. I've accepted the fact that I'm going to a new place already."
Lazuli opened his laptop and started creating the 3D-design of his next mini project.

"I remember. Hey, are there any themes for the party tomorrow that we need to dress up for?" Cirrus typed, sitting up in her bed. She turned on the lights in her room and sat at her desk, spinning idly around. She supposed she could read, but she really didn't feel like it. She felt like she deserved a break from it all, now that she was finally graduating and going to Mavia.
"Not sure. I heard it was "Around the World" theme or something like that. You could wear something tourist related."
Lazuli typed a few notes into his computer and sent out another message, "Semi-Casual."

"Around the world? I guess I have to go look for something for that. Do you have any ideas for it?" She replied quickly. She got up and walked over to her closet, then began rummaging through her few clothes to look for something that would be considered appropriate. She came up empty handed. Cirrus sighed, running a hand through her blonde hair, then placed it on her hip, considering her options.
She probably should have put more effort into getting clothes, but she didn't think it would matter.

"Yeah. I'm probably going for the standard Tourist T-shirt and Shorts" Lazuli typed in. He walked over to his closet and opened it. After a minute or two of digging around, he managed to find the T-shirt and Shorts he was talking about. He also grabbed one of his normal jackets. Since the party was at night and outside, it might get a little chilly.
Lazuli started getting out some papers to draw out the sizes of his project.

"I guess I'll do something about the same. I was hoping to do something really cool to end the year with, but I ended up forgetting until now." Cirrus clicked off her phone again. She walked towards her closet and started picking out the plain outfit. She added a straw hat and sunglasses, arranging the clothes on her bed and looking at them front a distance. She shrugged. Good enough, she supposed.
"Sure"
"sounds cool!"
Lazuli frowned as he noticed one of his lines were tilted. He sighed, knowing he'd have to do it again. Lazuli walked over to the other side of his room and began digging around for his eraser. 'Why do I always seem to have a shortage of erasers?', Lazuli mentally complained. He'd have to go buy more soon.

Cirrus showered and changed, then walked back to her desk, twisting her blonde hair. She sat down and spun around in her chair slowly. It was dark outside. She could study more, but really, she didn't think that she could get anything done. Cirrus stood up, shut off the lights in her room, and dove into bed, falling quickly asleep.
(Time skip to next day)
Lazuli stared(glared) at the clock next to him. He had about 40 minutes till school started. It took about 25-ish minutes to get to school. That meant Lazuli had about ten minutes to get ready. About five is saved for packing his lunch, putting on his shoes, that kind of stuff. Lazuli dragged himself awake. If there was something that Lazuli hated more than getting out of bed, it was being late. He quickly got ready and started driving towards school. There was a senior barbecue today, so that was something to look forward to.

Cirrus hummed lightly to herself, coming back inside after her morning walk. She shivered exaggeratedly, then rubbed her hands together. It was still rather cold outside. She walked to the kitchen and made herself oatmeal, then remembered. The senior barbecue party was soon. She jumped up, changed quickly and grabbed the bag that she had prepared a month before the barbecue just so she wouldn't forget. Cirrus headed back outside into the crisp morning air and into her car, then started driving towards school.
After honking at several cars and acting like an old grump, Lazuli was finally able to get into the school with about 20 minutes to spare. He had gotten to school earlier than he usually did. He entered the student center and walked up the stairs. After entering the library room, he sat down at his usual corner. After the bell rang, the seniors would head down to the curb for the buses. Meanwhile, Lazuli planned to fool around on his laptop, playing old games and other things that no one every did anymore.
She got to the school fairly easily. Cirrus scanned the courtyard. No one was there. Perhaps she was too excited to get to school? She'd certainly got here too early, by the looks of it. She decided that she might as well go up to the library and study a bit, or perhaps use the computer and check her emails. She started towards the student center. The entire center was dark and quiet except for the quiet hum of the computers. Cirrus closed the door quietly behind her and walked up the steps towards the library, her gray eyes darting around the area. It was rather creepy, but she was just scaring herself.
Cirrus turned the corner and nearly jumped in shock as she saw a person. She quickly calmed down when she realized that the dark figure was just Lazuli on his laptop. She approached him quietly, then tapped his shoulder.
"Hey, Lazuli!"

"Hey, Lazuli!"
Lazuli blinked, startled. He looked up and saw Cirrus. "Yo." Lazuli looked curiously at Cirrus, "Do you normally come here in the mornings? I don't remember seeing you here before. . ." Maybe she had been there before. Lazuli just didn't care much for people unless there was a reason for him to care.
"No, I don't come here usually. I typically stay down in the front and talk to my friends there. You look really used to this place," Cirrus said, looking around the rather dark student center. The shelves stood tall and imposing-looking, built like a near maze that was difficult to look over. The shelves nearly touched the ceiling of the student center, much taller than Cirrus. It felt enclosing, but at the same time, it felt protective. She sat on a chair near Lazuli, pulling her legs up to her chest and resting her head on her knees. She looked over at him, his face lit by the blue-white glow of the computer screen as he played various games on his laptop.
Cirrus got up and walked around, looking at the shelves for familiar titles. None of them caught her fancy. They seemed written in a foreign language. Her eyes skimmed over the titles before she had even realized what they were, forcing her to stay and slowly re-read each and every one of them. They were covered in dust, tucked away into a rather remote section of the library area. She sneezed a little as her movements stirred the dust up, then fanned her hand to dispel it. She chose a small, rather thin book with a simple cover. Originally an off-white color, it was now a pale shade of gray. She took it from its place on the shelf. As she did, her hand smudged away the dust collecting on the shelf, revealing that it was made of a nice tan-colored wood. She rubbed off the rest of the dust on the book's cover and a little on the rest of the shelf. She decided to give it a try, but she knew that it was unlikely that she would get to read it ever again, considering that this was the last day they were even coming to school at all.
Cirrus went back to her chair and opened the book. It started out with the drawing of... a snake eating an elephant, apparently, but everyone else thought it was a hat. She tilted her head. It did look like both. The story immediately set into disaster, although the friendly writing style of the whole thing contradicted what was happening.
She continued to read for a little bit, lost in the story until the constant clicking of Lazuli's keyboard broke her free from her thoughts. She turned to look at him. He was rather focused in his own work, whatever he was doing. She moved slightly to see, then decided against it. Instead, she turned around in her seat to nearly face him and addressed him directly, hoping that she was not bothering him.
"This place is rather nice," She commented aloud, looking around the area. "I usually prefer more open, natural spaces, but this has its own charm. It's really cozy and it makes you feel safe. Perhaps you're the kind of person who loses themselves often and likes to be immersed in their own thoughts?" She asked, but then quickly added, "Then again, that's categorizing personalities, which are of course very complex things, to limited stereotypes, so maybe you don't. I just figured that you might be an outwardly more reserved and thoughtful person."

"I come here whenever I get to school early, which isn't very often. I think I am someone who often loses themselves in their own thoughts. besides, I like less crowded places." Lazuli looked up, "You know, you can turn on the lights, right?" Lazuli stood up and walked over to a nearby wall. He reached for the light switch and flicked it upwards. Light flooded the room, illuminating everything. "There, now you won't hurt your eyes."
Lazuli sat down and pulled up the 3D-designer on his computer. He opened his recent project and began adding details. This design was just a treehouse that Lazuli though would be cool. Maybe, Lazuli could add a second floor to this thing. Lazuli began building the second floor, adding in special designs to make the outside and inside look cool. This probably wouldn't be built in real life, but it was still cool to design things. Lazuli turned to Cirrus, "You can probably tell that no one comes here anymore. Most people go to the newer student center. The librarian hardly ever show up."

"Ah, of course. I kind of liked the whole darkness effect, though. I think it was rather comforting." Cirrus sat up, looking up at the lights. "It looks less.. like a space away from the rest of the world with the lights on. It just looks like a library now."
She stood up and sat closer to Lazuli, looking over his shoulder. "That's amazing! What a nice treehouse. I would have loved something like that, lost away in the midst of the forest. Why hasn't anyone made a structure like that, anyways? Would it not be stable like that?" She examined it. "No, it looks stable, at least to me. You should make some of your designs! That'd be so cool!"
"Do you run this place, basically?" Cirrus laughed. She leaned on the table, resting the side of her head on it. "Wouldn't it be awesome if one day, you just walked in here and pretended to be the librarian! I'd love to spend more time here. Too bad we're going to be gone start tomorrow. I know! You like to go to more open spaces, right? There's this clearing off in the woods. It's pretty close to here, just a few blocks down. There's a creek over there, and if you keep walking, you'll reach a nice wooded area. My house is actually a block from it. Would you please come with me someday to see it? I'm sure you'd like it!" Cirrus looked at Lazuli with her usual nice, open smile.

Lazuli nodded, "I quite like the darkness effect too. The light does make this place look really cool, though." Lazuli added several more designs onto his treehouse, "I'll probably consider making a smaller model of this." Lazuli turned to Cirrus, smiling. "I'd like to see what your house looks like. If you want, You can come to my house too. The house I currently live in is up on the hills." A loud bring blared through the library's intercom. Lazuli closed his laptop and put it into his bag.
"Let's go! We've got the Senior Barbaque next." Lazuli walked to the door, holding it out for Cirrus. Lazuli grinned, "After you."
