Those stats tend to change if you get a seal and use it though
( probably spelled that wrong)

Yes, certain buffs can clearly raise the strengths especially equipment, so! I'm thinking about setting g base stats, setting up decent equipment and keeping it the same through the whole RP. We will leave buffs and surprise stat increases out of the picture except for an increase in ATK and DEF when something is currently equipped.
Problem is that the class I chose for my character isn't a base class...I sort of forgot what the bass class form of it was.

The base is a Mage, technically your Onmyoji would be a Sage.
Thank you :)

Alright, whatcha think about that?

Mages and Clerics both have the capability of reclassing into Sage.

Also my main problem with the stat idea is figuring out the growths. Like if we level up we need to know what stat(s) would most likely level and that's a bit of a hassle. It also depends on which general time line we choose to do. Like Fates gives mages a wayyy lower HP cap (35) than any other US released game which generally (Curse you path of Radiance and your absurd difficultly) was 60 for mages specifically.
Whisper (played by Miss)

Hello! I absolutely love games as scenes and will gladly submit a character to join this adventure. Though I know very little of Fire Emblem, I have researched for roughly 30 minutes, and the idea of permanent death enthralls me, as it is a real danger to the character!

I did find a very useful site for information in regards to percentages of leveling up, but this game has the same problems of Final Fantasy Tactics, in that it is the direct transcription from game to not. It includes a lot of math and poses the problem of translating it into a forum adventure.

I'm not certain if this link provides -all- of the base classes, but it looks to be an excellent start.Classes and such

As for a character to join the adventure, I'm very interested in the Freelancer class and would likely use Whisper as a more medieval character, rather than her modern self.
What I mean by an abundance of math is the formulas:

This is the more recent formula for attacks for Fire Emblem games.
Strength + [(Might + Weapon triangle bonus) x Effectiveness] + Support bonus

This is the formula for gaining experience in Final Fantasy Tactics.
Experience Points = [10 + (Target’s Experience Level – Character’s Experience Level) + D] x M

Both are very hard to sell to players! Even though I would love to play a FFT roleplaying game with others, it would be as if I were speaking in Latin, but the players wish for me to speak in English.

This is one of the concerns I had. I'm thinking of completely forsaking IS's stat system and using my own, but if I find something redeemable among that mess I'll use that. Also for growth I am thinking of having everybody start at LV 1 and have the cap be LV 20 or something. As to how people will gain exp and how much I'm still trying to figure out, but putting a limit should at least give characters some form of inhibition.

By the way we will eventually create character sheets and stuff, but for now laying down the groundwork is our priority.

I want to keep this roleplay freeform, but I cannot see it coming to fruition without dice use.

We will keep the weapon triangle since rock paper scissor isn't exactly the most complex concept out there, and is easy to grasp. Also support bonus will be another confirmed concept, but that involves having units in adjacent tiles.

I'm thinking of doing something closer to Pokemon when regarding experience gain. It's a very set system, where a certain creature gives a certain amount of experience point with some kind of multiplier or add-on from its level.
Ro-Sham-Bo works well! And dice rolling is the best. Though my limited experience leads to a limited ability to help, so I will wish you the best of luck in figuring out the math values. And this:

It took me Forever to figure out what you all are talking about...I usually just pick a character and have them fight...to quote a man
" Never tell me the odds!"
Sorry...I don't usually pay attention to stats...for me games are all about the story, dialogue, and art so sorry if I mess up a few times in advance
