Rose blushed a tiny bit as his hand touched her face. "Two days ago," she replied quietly. She sat back onto Cody's hospital bed.
Her head was swimmimg and she couldnt see clearly anymore. Then she fell into Cody by accident as a dizzy spell hit her. Blushing, Rose started to sit up again.
"I-Im sorry," she stammered quietly.

Cody grabbed her before she fell, his arm wrapping around her shoulders to steady her. He looked across the room at the bed on the other side, but that would be impossible for either of them to get to.

"You need sleep more than I do." He said and scooted over. "And you can hardly move, so you'll have to sleep here." Of course, his bed. "And don't worry about me. I'll just be keeping watch." He wasn't tired, per se, just drained and waiting for his energy to return. He had scooted over enough that she could lay with enough room to stretch out to her full height.

Rose felt bad about having to sleep in his bed and she thought about protesting before another wave of dizziness hit her. She layed back and closed her eyes, out as soon as she did so.

Nothing couldve woken her up as she slept for a few hours. Her nightmares were of the night she was turned and though she didnt regret it now, it had been terrifying when it happened.

Cody shook his head when Rose nearly passed out as soon as she was horizontal. It was clear she was exhausted, well beyond exhausted, and he felt bad for her. How long had she been working here, anyway? He hadn't asked her that.

For a while he was content to just stare off into space, and then she must have had nightmares because she twitched. Several times. He had no idea what to do to help her with them, but he understood nightmares as well as anyone. He shifted a little and then began to comb his fingers through her hair, careful to keep his arm out of the way in case she lunged forward.

Rose's dreams turned suddenly into the past two years she had been working with the pack. Something had calmed her down though she wasnt sure what until she woke up. Feeling Cody brush his fingers through her hair, she blinked her eyes open and looked up at him.

Why was he helping to calm her down? Wasnt he supposed to hate her for being a werewolf? A million questions ran through her head as she looked at him. But one question in particular that had her confused by all means.
Why do i feel more comfortable around him than anyone else?

He hadn't noticed her waking, and if he had, he would have snatched his hand away. So when he realized her eyes were open and she was looking at him, he yelped and pulled away from her. "S-sorry."

He hadn't been paying attention because he'd been distracted again by how vulnerable she was and his mind was geared for ticking off weak points. But at the same time, he'd found in himself a sense of protectiveness that he hadn't felt in too long.

He glanced back at her, wondering what she would do. "Did you, uh, sleep okay?" he asked after a moment of internal flailing.

Rose was blushing and she sat up laughing softly as he stammered an apology. "I slept great thanks to you," she said with a sincere note of thankfulness.

But in her mind she was really wondering why and was happy that he did so. Then her smile faltered as she thought of him leaving.
"So when are you leaving?" she asked quietly.

Cody shrugged. "Whenever I'm ready to stagger out of here on my own two feet, I guess." Now that she was up, he laid back a bit, keeping carefully to the far half of the bed.

He glanced at her, his hands clasped over his stomach. "Why? Do you want me to stay longer?" Actually, the latter he wouldn't mind, if it would give him some insight into what the other werewolves of the pack were doing.

Rose saw his more professional stance and suddenly became wary again. He was a hunter and her the enemy. Why should he want to stick around for her other than to collect their secrets and use them to kill them all.

Suddenly Rose seemed more serious and she slipped off his bed. "No. I was meerly asking," she replied. Though her eyes showed her clear battle to be refined with him or relax around him and enjoy spending time with him.

Cody saw the conflict in her eyes and, being the jerk he was, was amused by it, though he was careful not to smile. He shrugged, but continued watching her.

"You want me to stay." It wasn't a question this time. "But you'll have a heck of a time convincing your alphas to let me." He was playing with fire and he knew it; at best, they'd let him go, at worst, they'd kill him or turn him. "How long have you been here for, anyway?" Maybe, just maybe, he could convince her to take him back to the city--and he could retrace his steps later to where they were.

Rose frowned then took out her braid and redid it. "I've been here two years. I think you should leave as soon as your strength comes back," she said and grabbed her clipboard.

Looking through the papers, she grabbed her doctors coat and slipped it back on. "The sooner you leave, the sooner i wont have to put up with you." she said slightly coldly.
She had convinced herself that Cody could care less for her and was jsut pretending to have sympathy for her earlier. He was just trieing to gain her trust so he could learn the weaknesses within her pack. He would probably bring a back up partner to murder them all and she wouldnt allow it to be her fault.
Walking over to her medicine counter, she fixed a cup of tea and sipped on it.

He scowled at her coldness. Mostly because he thought he had been so close to getting her to agree to that last part. But maybe he had pushed too much. Fine. He had another trick up his sleeve.

He watched her prepare some tea and he realized he was thirsty. He sighed, and some of the fight left him, making him look tired and worn and, well, drained. "Could I, maybe, have a cup of tea?" All he needed was some energy, and he hadn't eaten anything in the last couple of hours.

Rose looked over at him then made him a cup and set it down beside him. Then she left and came back a few minutes with some blueberry pancakes drizzled in syrup with back on the side. She set that down as well beside him and checked his head for a fever.

Finding none, she left his side and sat at her desk. Propping her feet up on the desk and leaning back in her chair. She wore brown leather combat boots and a knife was sheathed in the left one. Rose never wwent anywhere without some form of protection.

Jackson woke up early in the morning and smiled as he held Rina. Nothing could be better and he squeezed her gently to him before settling down and letting her sleep.

She moved next to him, her face buried deeper into his chest and then took a deep breath. Mumbling something incoherent to him as she slowly started to wake up.

Jackson looked down at Rina as she mumbked something he didnt catch. "Hmm?" he asked softly. Kissing the top of her head, he was content to lay there with her all day if they could.

"Thank you," he said, taking the tea and sipping it carefully. When she returned to settle pancakes in front of him, however, his stomach growled to life and he flushed. "You didn't have to..." It was probably the largest meal he'd ever had and he scarfed it down in record time.

As he finished mopping up the rest of the syrup with his final bite of pancake, he turned his eyes back to Rose. He didn't mean to stare, but he couldn't help it, just like he couldn't help the sigh that escaped him when he saw the knife tucked into her combat boots.

"You know how to use that?" he asked her, nodding at the knife in her boot.

Rose noticed him staring and refrained a smile. A second after he asked if she knew how to use the knife, it went whizzing past his head and into the wall. But there she had thrown her knife right through the middle of the moth and it lifelessly was stuck pinned to the wall.
"I know how to use it, yes." she replied.

Then Rose smiled at Cody. "You were staring again," she teased.

"your warm." she laughed and streched. "do you have work today? Cause I need a job myself." she payed with her gowns bow string as she talked.

Jackson chuckled and let Rina go so she could stretch. "I do have work today. You want to come to town with me?" he asked.

"Of course." she said happily, getting up and out of bed. Now she would get to wear her new clothes. She wanted to ask what kind of work he did, but just decided that she would probably better understand if she were to see it for herself. Mostly though, Rina wanted to know just how Jackson felt about her because by what she could tell. It wasn't just a friend. And honestly she liked that thought very much.
