The Rune Archive, a tome of magical spells and incantations. protected by a family for 17 generations, and kept out of the hands of the forces of evil. James and his father were the current heirs to this book, but when a group of occultists murder his father and try to steal the book, James is forced to go on the run. (Plot: Basically a woman, a hunter of magical creatures finds the boy, and then the pair goes off for answers, taking down magical creatures as well as the occultists.)

No, it's not a requirement, I simply used that as an example of a story that includes monsters and such, while being in the present day rather seamlessly. I would definitely recommend the first five seasons tho lol.

There are several bits of criteria I've always been very firm about when selecting a character to rp with. A character shouldn't have to change in order to fit in with a scenario. If you have to change the time period your character was set in originally, or change what the character is ,(ie, from non human to human or emotionally or maturity wise) then I feel like something is getting forced. It's not about whether someone simply wants to rp because they think a story is good. Plenty of people enjoy stories, but if a character doesnt fit, it's only going to cause issues later. In this case, I'm looking entirely for a modern scenario, with a female character, and my standards for grammar and rp quality are also rather high. I don't want to just rp for a little while. I want to create a world. And through that world, tell a story worth listening to.

I agree. But most of my characters are flexible age or race wise for cases like this, because I don't have purely human characters. But if you don't want to rp with my character, than that's fine.

You....are an inspiration to me now....I've been searching for an rp like that forever...all my characters are ones that I've designed specifically for modern fantasy and magic...their behavior varies though...and honestly every once in awhile I can't help but point out spelling errors. I'm only human after all

I would appreciate it if people would read the descriptions and requirements. Im only looking for one character. Not a child character , late teen at youngest, and human. Not naturally magical. Someone who would have to use devices artifacts or prepare, or simply use normal available methods to humanity.
