So I just want to get back into the fantasy genre. Who wants to jump in with me. We can comine action, fantasy and romance. We can work up a plot. Once we get some interested members, we can start a discussion thread.
I think I want to use this character, Aydr. He's a trader and a general adventurer. He has coins IC, so maybe he is hiring a team? Maybe they are in search of something rare, like an artifact. We could have all received a letter telling us to meet at a tavern in a particular town.
Well that was interesting brainstorming.. Anyone else have any ideas or fantasy character they want to dust off?
As far as number of RPers, let's say 3 is company, 4 is a crowd.... I haven't had luck drawing RPers recently, so we'll see if anyone is even interested.
And if anyone wants to make this a group, they can feel free to take the helm and create a group. If not, a forum should be fine. I just want to develop this character.

Magic is very common. Magic-tech, grand floating islands, forests that sing, magical creatures may be an every-day occurrence.
Iron age
Combat is woven into the storyline and could come to the forefront if the characters seek it out.

I just looked over everyone's profiles. Looks like we will have an interesting team. It makes sense for you all to be a part of it. We definitely want a wizard, as well as the lady who works with fire and ice. The knight and ex-knight will be good to have too, to handle some of the melee obstacles that might pop up.
I'm thinking we can get an IC up fairly soon, like tonight. Does anyone have any ideas they want to run by the group first? TG me if it's something you want to pop up hidden in the plot.

I really don't mind, I can't think of anything specific for the plot.
Possibly, a demon or monster is assaulting a town or something. The guards have failed to take it down or look for the source of where's it's coming from, and now the travelers and townsfolk are resorting to mercenaries and hired blades and tomes to hopefully help with the problem, instead of the rather not as trained guardsmen.
Sure, Morcant. We'll make room for you and then close things off for now. Like I said, we'll reevaluate as we find a pace. But we should have a good crew. I did some brainstorming. I like the idea of a monster, I have an idea for one and it's not what you'd expect. But it might prove interesting, to say the least... But instead of it attacking the town, let's say it's harboring an artifact. And we have to get past the monster to get the artifact. Aydr knows people who simply must have this artifact. I'm thinking a jeweled, magic sort of thing... Maybe an amulet. Something like a dragon's eye gem. But it won't be a dragon. Actually we could deal with dragons too, now that I think of it. Who knows where the adventure will lead?
I have an idea that would help to engage my character: if the artifact had something to do with phoenixes, firebirds, or the setting sun. Even though there will ultimately be no connection, he associates those things with his quest and will be keen on checking it out. It could even be just a cosmetic motif--an item with engraved firebird designs, or a fiery orange stone that might be referred to as a sunstone. Not a requirement, just some ideas that would help my character click with the plot a little better 8)
Okay, we can go with a firebird type motif for the artifact. I actually thought about the term sunstone as I was thinking this up. Now the guardian may or may not be a phoenix. I've thought up one guardian so far. There may be more, like different levels or something. But yeah I'll try to implement firebirds.
