It was a quiet type of day with a clear blue sky, lots of wind, and lots of heat; the kind of day to make people stay inside, or rush into the nearest building just to feel cool air conditioning. Selenas, in her great hurry, had made just such a decision. Normally she would have taken a better look at the coffee shop and decided against it. The lavender painted walls, with daisies in merry flowerpots on the windows screamed 'female', and was not the sort of place she would have normally chosen.
Today Selenas did not care about flowers or colours, she had just rushed inside, found a table, and sat down as quickly as possible. On a regular kind of day like this one was suppose to be, even if she had decided to enter this shop, the adorable male waiter would have caught her eye. He seemed strong, dependable, and very lonely. Honestly he would be the perfect candidate for Selenas's attention.
Today she barely gave him a second glance. Instead her blonde hair curled over the table as she sank her head into her hands, green eyes wide with uncertainty.
What...in the world...was going on?! Strange things had begun to happen to Selenas in the past few hours. Things that frightened her, that she didn't understand.
The waiter served her a cup of coffee and winked, letting her know it was free.

Harren was at a near by table, half asleep from her night run with her mate Dai. Her breathing heavy from sleep
After a moment Selenas blinked, realizing there was coffee in front of her. "Coffee? In this heat?" She asked. "But then...this is a coffee shop." She mused, reaching a single finger to trace the sides of her cup. Frost, honest to goodness frost followed her fingertip, gliding down into the cup and creating a thin sheet of ice over the liquid.
Selena screeched and twitched her hand, flinging the cup to the floor in both fright and frustration. Again! It happened again! Had anyone else noticed? Selena glanced around hurriedly, hoping not to see the freaked out gazes of any of the other customers.

Harren shot up to the sound of the cup hitting the ground, a shiver trickling down her spine. 'Something is unhuman in here...' She thought as she sniffed the air.
"Plastic..." She breathed when the cup didn't shatter against the tiles on the floor. At least there was that. The waiter had hurried back over, surprise and shock on his face, and knelt to the floor with a rag. Normally this would be a perfect position, Selena's arms would fall just right over his shoulders. She'd whisper an apology in his ear, and he'd be hers. That was on a normal day, and even on this not-so-normal day she noticed a bright red twinge in the man's cheekbones. She sat there, watching dully as he cleaned up her mess. When he finished she managed a small, apologetic smile and he nearly dropped the cup again. This was also strange. Men were normally attracted to her yes, but not to the point of becoming a stuttering idiot. That only happened in comic books.....right?
Selena gazed around the rest of the room, self consciously trying to detect anyone noticing anything out of the ordinary.

Harrens brown eyes stared at the girl. She was unhuman, but how? She was no Vampire nor werewolf. She wasnt a strong power wielding beast, what was she? Harren couldnt look away, her eyes glued to the girl.
Their eyes met, Selena's green coloring mixing with more and more flashes of gold with each passing moment. She also could not look away. The young woman had not originally noticed that Harren wasn't human, as far as Selena new no one could be anything but, however she did notice something...different..about the other girl. What...was going on?
Harren let a little growl slip her lips. She moved here to escape all other creatures, she thought her and her mate where the only ones there, but now this thing, what ever this thing was. Harren stood, leaveing her untouched food at the table. She needed some air.
"No, wait!" Selena called after her, following the other woman out of the coffee shop and into the heat of the day. She reached out as if to grab Harren by the arm. Her touch would be cold, frosty even, though not painful.
"Please wait, do you know...what's going on? Whats happening to me? Who are you, why were you staring at me?!" She demanded feverishly.

Harren growled at the girls touch. "Thats what you should tell me?" Harrens k-nines where elongated now as she stared down the girl, moveing from her reach,
Somewhere in the back of her mind, Selena had the inkling that she should be afraid. She wasn't. The canines alarmed her, but not nearly as much as they should. "You were staring at me. You saw what happened to the cup. If I knew what was happening, believe me I wouldn't have followed you. I don't normally converse with....females..." Her eyes met Harren's, the golden bits crystallizing into a clear blue.
Harren shook her head. This was one of those girls that needed to be idolized by men, it was stuck up if anything. Not talking to females, how stupid. "I dont know what you are. But your not some human." Harren was growling softly, clearly irritated.
Selena's grip on Harren didn't tighten so much as sag against the other woman. In fact, her entire body seemed to sag in a form of defeat. "How is that possible? I don't..." She sighed deeply, and closed both eyes as if they hurt.
"Everything is so confusing...I don't understand." And she sank to the floor, almost like a child realizing for the first time how short they are.

"You are so self centered arent you... I dont even want to help you." Harren huffed as she turned on her heel. "Maybe you can learn to be a bit nicer and more open... people like that more."
"Says the person who was rudely staring, and is now walking away!" Selena snorted, the other's reaction causing anger to rise in her again. "You probably couldn't help me anyway!" She yelled after the girl, turning on her heels to walk in the opposite direction. "This is why I hate women!" She snorted again, this time under her breath.
Harren was infront of her in mere minutes. A snarl on her face. "Watch your mouth or Ill rip it off."
"Go ahead and try!" Selena snapped back, both arms crossing over her chest.
"You're a bully. I hate bullies, and if you did know anything you'd have helped me by now." She made to push past. "Get out of my way. Strange things are happening...I need to figure out why."
Not that I have any idea where I'll go, or what I'll do once I get there... she though disparagingly. The morning had started out so wonderfully too.
