"Captain Hopkins, are we ready for the around the world cruise?" Lady Katheryn asked as she gazed at the map.


"Yes, Lady Katheryn. I even sent out the invitations this morning." Captain responded.

"We will soon have a few singles then....." Katheryn spoke as she check yet another item off her list.


Emails were sent out to various papers who placed the ad as well as online. It read as follows:

Once again The Wanderer is asking for lonely hearts to write in for a free cruise. Yes, an all expense free cruise for those who are actively looking for a mate. Please include where you wish to be picked up at and points of interest.

Captain Hopkins will make an itinerary that will include your points of interest if you hurry the inquiry to :

Chris gets on the boat wearing his blue jean pants and a grey shirt. He carries his stuff to his room and begins to think "I wonder if now is when I will meet someone amazing. I wonder what kind of romance there will be on this ship."

Chris left his room and began walking the ship to see who else is there. He also took some time to lean on the bars at the edge of the ship to just feel the wind and look at the water.

Lady Katheryn walked out of her room and out to watch the people board. She saw that a male was on board already. She smiles and walks over to him.

"Hello, I am your hostess, Lady Katheryn. Welcome to The Wanderer." she held out her hand.

He reaches out his hand to take hers. "Hello, my name is Chris. This is a really lovely ship and you are a really amazing site." He says as he shakes her hand smiling a cute smile. "I am looking forward to sailing the seas and hopefully meeting some amazing women, maybe find the right one. Thank you for the trip."

"You are quite welcome. Chris.... If I remember correctly you are in room 1. " Lady Katheryn spoke softly.
'Perhaps you would like a drink from the Refreshment area? I know that the staff has the area ready for I have been up there myself. Shall we?"

"I would love to, I can use one" offers her his arm like a gentleman before they begin walking to the refreshment area. "The room was beautiful too, you've done an amazing job setting up.

"Thank you. I like designing and decorating as well as traveling. " she spoke as she took his offered arm.
"Tell me about yourself, Chris. What kinds of things you do for enjoyment, favorite foods and such."

"Well, for enjoyment I enjoy taking nice long walks on breezy days or staring at the water. I like dancing in the rain and doing karaoke. For food, I like just about everything. I guess the big thing about me is I'm a nice and very protective person. I just want to find someone who can enjoy me for me and maybe give me a first time...as well as maybe finding the one. I just want to be able to be me and not let the world change me, you know?...but what about you?"

"I am a widow of 5 years. My husband died while out on the ocean. A freak accident, really." Katheryn spoke sadly as her eyes drifted over the water.

"I feel the closest to Jack when I am out on the water but I do like taking walks along the beach. Beach combing for various treasures, reading, listening to the birds, gardens...... I do crafts as well. Of course traveling and exploring.

James, please mix me a fuzzy navel. Chris what would you like?"

"Actually, just a bloody Mary to start off..." He looks at her with caring eyes. "I am sorry for your loss, I hope you find what you are looking for during this cruise..." He just stares over at the water, not wanting to say anything that could make her sad, wanting to be respectful and also not sure what he should say after that. He takes his drink and takes a sip.

"Time has a way of healing wounds and the ocean soothes me. While I do become a bit melancholy at times, I am ready to move on with life. " she spoke quietly.
"Let's sit at a table, if you don't mind. There are pretzels and nuts at each table as well as mints. You may sit with at the head table. We shall leave later on tonight."

He smiles and follows her to a table and take a seat. "Well, I am glad your ready to move on but I know there's a part that'll always be there." He clears his throat. "So, if I may be do bold, what is it you are searching for?"

"What everyone searches for, a soul mate. I had one but will I find another? Only time will tell. I have a few wonderful male friends but none that I wish to call my own. Perhaps on this world cruise I will find another soul mate or perhaps a close relationship." Katheryn spoke then sipped her drink.

"Do you have something that you are searching for?"

"Well, I too am searching for a soul mate. A special someone to give my everything to. Pretty much the same thing you are...but if it's me you choose, you'll have to teach me alot..." he quickly takes a big sip of his drink and tried to change the conversation.

"You know, finding a soul mate is just such a hard thing to do, it's like you hold out for someone special but the longer time goes, the more you realize maybe it just won't happen...its hard to hold on sometimes"

"Indeed it is hard to hold on at times but there is someone out there for each person. That is why I offer this opportunity to people. I have been fortunate to have a soul mate and wish to help others to find their soul mate and perhaps a second one for myself in the process. "
Katheryn took a few nuts and place them in a small bowl to nibble on.
"I have been told that I am quite insane and perhaps I am."

"Well, insane is pretty relative. You might be and you may not be...but to be honest, it doesn't matter. If you are happy with you, then that's the only part that should matter." He finishes his drink and thinks something in his head, but didn't realize he thought it out loud "and I doubt I'd ever have a chance but I would love the chance to ask you out, treat you to a nice dinner and such but I'm crazy to think I have a chance" he then orders another drink but this time just a scotch

"We shall get to know each other on the cruise and perhaps we might even take a side trip at one of the ports." Katheryn spoke softly as she gazed at Chris.
"Who knows the future? Definitely not I."

"You know, thAt sounds wonderful. Sometimes I wish I could tell the future, it would keep me from being hurt but...but at the same time I think it would also rob me of experiencing truly magical moments too. I mean since I'd always know what's coming, I doubt I'd ever get the genuine feeling of surprise and love. It's a tough choice when you consider both sides." He giggles and stares deeply into her eyes.
