This was the part of the year Aquamarine hated most. She kept the mountain-Her mountain, shrouded in a constant cloak of fog, put up signs, broke up the paths, and still humans found their way up to the temple year after year. She had made a habit of keeping human food on hand for them, and perhaps some small part of her liked their visits, but she would never admit it. She certainly had no reason to be waiting outside, seated on a rock that stood at the crest of the waterfall (the one hiding the temple enterance), looking down at the valley they would track up to get there, a basket of candy resting next to her... But she did it anyway.

It was that time of the year again! Spessartine loved human traditions sometimes, and this is one of the ones she found herself especially fond of!

With the form of a golden eagle in order to carry her spoils, Spessartine soared the skies with her haul. She saw a mountain in the distance and thought it perfect to rest up within the rocky outcrops in order to feast in peace from both man and animal alike.

As the Gem flew every closer, she eventually swooped in to land after spotting the waterfall. She drew in close enough to get the cool spray of water before landing down on the ground. Unbeknown to Spessartine, however, she had landed rather close to someone else.

It seemed that Spess was just too excited as she plopped down and started unwrapping the human goodies that she accumulating doing this 'trick-or-treat' thing in the towns and cities. Boy, did Spessartine sure love the taste of the sugary sweets, because she wasted no time crunching into lollipops and munching on chocolate bars that she got.

Aquamarine watches her swoop in on silent wing, and seat herself down close to the enterance of the temple.the large boulders around her were crusted with crystals like a frost, and those that were broken revealed perfectly formed geodes in different glittering colors. She felt her gem glow, lighting up her neck, and from it she drew one of her hatchets, weighing it in her hand as she carefully slipped off the rock and down the slope to the other side of the waterfall, crouching to spy. "Good evening!" she called across the water.

There was a pause in Spessartine's rather joyous munching for her to take pause and look over her shoulder in surprise. Spess' face was not glamorous by any means -- not with sugar bits from hard candies sticking to the corners of her mouth, and a smear of chocolate now on her left cheek.

Looking around after not seeing the other voice right away, Spessartine got up to her feet and dusted herself off.

"Hello? I didn't think anyone was around here!" Spessartine called out. "Is this your land? I'm sorry for trespassing!"

"Did you come for candy?" she called, crouching closer to the ground to try to hide behind the spray from the waterfall. "Ive got some. What's your favorite kind?" she asked, starting to slowly crawl back up toward her basket of foodstuffs. "Uh, I've got chocolate, and popcorns, and caramels, and chews, and those sorts of things. But you have to leave after I give it to you. It's not safe to be here."

(I'm thinking of popping in sometime but am still trying to decide when it would be appropriate to do so )

"Well..." Spessartine started, placing her hands on her hips and looking thoughtful. "I came here to eat candy, but if you're offering more, I'd be more than happy to have some!"

It seemed almost as if Spessartine disregarded the latter of what the voice said... and in a way, she kind of did. She did not often feel too threatened as a Gem -- she was just a free spirit that enjoyed herself, and the freedom she now had after she had gotten to Earth for the first time.

Either way, Spess was not going to say 'no' to more candies for her hoard.

Aquamarine hoisted herself back up to the rock she had been perched on before she came. A shiver of excitement ran through her as she decided which candies this other gem might like. Anything to get her away from the mountain. This seemed more like the Crystal Gems' area of expertise, and she didn't want to risk having to fight right outside of her sanctuary. "Uh... Here, whatever,"

Earlier in the week she had snuck down to the human city near the foot of the mountain and obtained several small 'mixed bags' of candies among other things. She picked one of these up. Crinkling the cellophane in her palm, and lobbed it overhand toward Spessartine.

" you know aqua it's not very nice to address someone so dishonorably" citrine states with a smirk as he stepped out from the trees and turned to address spessartain bowing down low then rising.
" I'm citrine....and that "
He points to aquamarine.
"-is a grouch"

Spessartine waited for a moment. She kind of gazed around with curious intent. Before long, something caught her eye and Spessartine became more reflexive. After all, that looked like a whole bag of candy!

Almost beaming with joy, Spessartine sprang up to catch the bag -- her jumping far more impressive than what a human of Earth could do, that was for sure.

She landed back on the ground rather lightly, and Spessartine was almost going to shout her great thanks to the voice that had been speaking to her, and now gave her a whole bunch of candy to boot!

Before that could happen, however, Spessartine had been interrupted by a new voice. She looked over to the new source and quirked a brow before looking a tad lost. Spessartine certainly was not expecting to see another Gem around the area -- especially not here.

"I... um... oh. Hi! I'm Spessartine!" the Gem introduced, giving a grin.

Aquamarine eyes narrowed. She was not a grouch. Could Citrine be any more debilitating to her cause? She hissed to try to get his attention, beconing that he should run away and lose Spess before she got too comfortable. "O-Okay! You've got your candy! It was nice to meet you!"

Spessartine was in the process of picking up her sack of candy and getting the newly acquired bag of candy put into it when she heard this Aquamarine say something in regards to the meeting. Looking back to where Aquamarine's voice came from, Spess tilted her head and then pressed a finger to her chin in contemplation.

Glancing to Citrine for a moment, the rust-haired Gem seemed at a loss.

"Meet? But I only heard a voice. I didn't really get to meet anyone except for this dude over here... to a degree..." Spessartine said, jerking a thumb back to Citrine.

Aquamarine scowled as Citrine stayed silent even though he had been the one to engage the guest. "You know, its really dangerous for people to be on top of this mountain!" She said, awkwardly flattening herself against the stone she was sitting on to stay out of sight. "You should probably hurry on your way before theres another avalanche or something!"
