Ziroh (played by Derglet)

A single house bore no light along a bright, cheerful street. Only few would dare to pass the broken fence, and even fewer to trek along the hole-filled yard. Within the sullen house, a smirking mercenary lay, laughing as they helped themself to a bowl of sweets. A sinister red light glowed from inside their mask, something only those looking right in would notice. Perhaps only those foolish would dare interrupt this maniac?
Valian found himself separated from his typical group of adventuring friends once again. It was always this time of the year that he seemed to lose track of them. Juri would go one way, Liuma another, and Nalia always just did something away from everyone else to distance herself for the festivities.

With a small sigh, Vale just adjusted his cloak with a flick of his arm, and he continued to walk down along the trail before him. As the trail grew darker, however, Vale seemed to take pause and placed his hand on the hilt of his blade.

Just because there were festivities within town did not mean that there still would not be trouble outside of them.

Vale continued to walk before a red light caught his attention. Stopping, he looked to the side and saw the broken down fences, the potholes that were only visible because of what moonlight cast shadows for them, and the house itself seemed to embody the festive appearance of being decrepit and unwelcoming.

However, it was that red light that intrigued Vale. A house this far out, this run down, and there was a light inside? It just seemed a little odd. Even if he only caught the briefest of glimpses from his peripheral vision.

Walking up to the house, Vale circled around it before approaching the front door and knocking.

Zay probably could've prepared herself a little bit more for this. But in her defense, she truly believed that no-one would approach her humble home. As she stumbled off her coach, spilling her sugary treasure everywhere and bumping her head on the coffee table, Zay managed out a weak 'Just a minute'. Swiftly, she collected her treats and, after bumping into a wall or two, made her way to the door.
Zay opened the door perhaps a little too quickly, and perhaps she didn't look the best, because behind the man before her, she saw children and adults alike wiggle away on the street. Oops.
"Assuming you came here for sweets rather than business, yeah?" The woman chuckled dryly, reaching into her bag.
"I'm not too terribly sure there is much business to be had," replied Valian in earnest as he stood there at the door. However, he straightened himself out, and adjusted his cloak once more. There was mention of sweets.

Recalling past events, varying members of his group at this time around came back together with varying sweet treats and confectionery goods that were being handed out by strangers. Come to think of it, Vale had also gotten a couple sweets, though that time was unconventional... much like this time now.

"If you're offering sweets, I won't reject them. Thank you for an offer," Vale went on to say. It was a pleasant enough surprise to have been offered something this far away from the main festivities. Of course, Vale did not often partake in such things, but some festivity celebration was good in moderation.

"Right right.." The woman pulled out a handful of varying treats, one or two falling to the floor while Zay handed them to the stranger before her. "I'm gonna go an' assume you ain't got no nut allergies or whatever, but I guess that's to say with most treats," She gave a smile before waving, "have a good night and stay out of trouble, will ya? None of us want to be called out at 'round 2am." With a final chuckle, she closed the door and collapsed to the floor. Why, oh why was it wet..?
Vale cupped his hands rather abruptly to accept the handful of treats. He was only expecting a couple, not a whole handful. However, he did not complain, he just took them and gave a small nod and smile of appreciation.

"Thank you. Best eve to you," Vale said as the door closed. He shook his head some and adjusted the candies in his hands. He fiddled a bit, though managed to get one of his pouches opened to put his newly gifted candy away.

Departing from the house, Vale supposed it was time to see if he could meet with the others of his group.
Ayoka (played anonymously)

The dog girl had been to every other house on the street, and her pillow case was heavy with sugary sweets. There was only one house left in the neighborhood, and she'd walked right past it twice already... It just seemed too dark, too abandoned, to have any promise of good sweets.

But what was that? A bowl on the steps? The dog girl paused, staring through a hole in the broken fence, sniffing the air. Very cautiously, she got on her hands and knees and crawled through the opening, then shuffled her way around the odd holes in the yard, feeling ahead of her with her toes at every step. Oh, this felt risky, but it just might be worth the risk for the reward of sweet sweet treats!

Well, perhaps now was not the time to wonder about such trivial matters. Zay managed to stand (after slipping twice, of course) and begun her way towards her comfy couch. Sitting down, she claimed her worn throne once more. Only then did she hear strange noises outside. Something like an animal. Or a human. Or a monster. Anyone, really. Perhaps Mitch. That kid had some real issues. Either way, Zay knew she probably should check it out. No, she's not stalling for time. Why would you even think that? Zay can't be scared. Not at all. Not even a tiny bit. No, she's definitely not hiding underneath a blanket. Why would you even think that?
Ayoka (played anonymously)

By the time she reached the door, her tail was picking up speed again, wagging so hard behind her it looked like it was going to knock her off balance. "Knock knock!" she called out, at the same time that she actually knocked.

Zay jumped out of her skin at the noise. Why were people coming to her place? Oh well, she wasn't one to disappoint. Grabbing the bowl of tasty treats, the mercenary once again journeyed through the damp, merciless beast that was her house. "'Ello..?" Upon opening the door and seeing the trick-or-treater, she hadn't a clue as to what to think. Part of hoped what she saw was just a rather convincing costume, but part of her thought otherwise. Even so, she picked out non-chocolate sweets to give to the dog-girl, just in case.
Ayoka (played anonymously)

That was considerate, for like most dogs, Ayoka had very little sense concerning the health hazards of chocolate. She'd eat the whole bowl if she was allowed. Instead, she crows, "I knew it!" and does a little jump-skip dance of triumph when someone actually answers the door at the seemingly abandoned home. "I knew there'd be treats here! Thank you, thank you!" Unslinging her pillow case from her back, Ayoka holds it wide to receive the candy, though from her wide eyes and wider grin, one would think that she'd want to skip the bag and put the candy directly into her mouth.

The whole little scene amused the mercenary. Placing the sweets into the pillow case, Zay decided to speak. "You're not from around here, are you? You don't seem like anyone from these parts, anyway." Perhaps a bad assumption, but that's what the woman said, before saying goodbye and retreating to her couch.
