Maxie leaned her head back, getting excited, "I love glow worms. Like little angels. Weird lookin' ones, but angels." She snorted, laughing at herself. She reached over and touched Yami's hand lightly, "I would love that. I'm going this weekend, if it's not too short of notice for you?"
Yami chuckled a bit, "Yes, they are. Little glowing angels." He grinned.
At Maxie touching his hand he relaxed, "It's not short notice at all. I wouldn't mind."
He replied, "Is there a way I can contact you?"

Maxie nodded, "Do you have a cellphone? We could exchange numbers." She grinned, showing off her white teeth, her cheeks rosy. She wasn't sure why, but she felt really good suddenly.
Maybe it's that you have a date to go on.
Maybe it's that you have a date to go on.
Yami shifted, he could get one in a few seconds.
He reached in his empty pocket, using his abilities and forming a cellphone, seeing several untaken numbers in his mind and picking one and assigning it.
He took out the brand-new cellphone, putting it on the table. "Of course." He said slowly.
"My number is 716-569-3346." He said with a smile. I hate technology... how am I gunna use this stupid thing... ah well... I don't seem to have a choice until I can trust her enough to tell her the truth.

Maxie pulled out her cellphone, typing in the numbers, "3374, right? No, wait, 3347!" She flicked in the numbers, "716-569-9243 is mine." She had a shiny new flip phone. It wasn't fancy. It wasn't a smart phone, just a plain cellular telephone.
Yami smiled awkwardly, trying his best to type in the number into the phonebook with twitchy fingers.
"Got it." He replied and sighed in relief.
"So this weekend then? Shall we meet at the caves?"

Maxie nodded, "Sure." She took a scrap of paper from her fanny pack, and scribbled down the name of the system she was going to, "I'll be going fairly early. I like to stay all day. Do you have equipment? If not, I have extra. I'm not going anywhere that requires rope - I take some anyhow. I have flashlights, headlamps, glow sticks, all the basics."
Yami smiled a bit, "Alright, it sounds like a plan."
He then looked thoughtful, "I can get my own, don't worry about it."
He then stood, offering out his hand for the piece of paper, "Call me when you're about halfway there. I'll head out then. I'm a bit closer." By a bit closer I mean I can just warp there... but I can't tell her that yet.
Yami smiled, "So I'll see you this weekend."

Maxie nodded, "Uh, thanks again for the smoothie too. I'll see you on Saturday!" She collected herself, pulling off her t-shirt once she was back outside, heading down her running route home.
(I hope you don't mind I'm skipping to Saturday!)
Maxie sat in her car, checking the contents of her bag, "Water, rope, lights, batteries, first aid." She mumbled to herself as she shoved it all back in the bag. Stepping out into the warm, early morning sun, she stretched, popping her back. She let out a little breath and walked out to where the entrance to the cave was.

(Not at all! I'm guessing they'll be quite a few timeskips in this rp!)
Yami had arrived early, sitting on a rock near the cave entrance, a large bag with all the necessary things near him, and reading a book calmly, glancing over the words calmly. It seemed to be some sort of poetry book. He already knew them all, but still enjoyed them. He closed it without even looking up, glancing to Maxie and smiled. "Why hello. You're a bit early."

Maxie laughed, "So are you! What are you reading?" She moved to sit next to him. Without a word she pulled his bag towards her, checking it. Impressed she closed it, "You really are prepared!" She wore a lazy grin - she was relaxed, but happy. She got up and started to stretch, "So, how far in will you want to go?"
Yami smiled a bit, not minding her looking through his things at all it seemed.
"I tried to be. Caving can be somewhat dangerous. And we might as well go a bit in at least, coming all the way out here, I'd like an adventure." He said with a smug smirk, resting his chin on his arm before pocketing his book and getting up, grabbing his seemingly heavy bag with no effort.
"Shall we go?"

Maxie grinned and made sure she had exra hair ties as she picked up her own bag. It wasn't as effortless, but it wasn't a struggle either. She started down into the mouth of the cave. It was a pretty easy path to begin with, wide and open, but slowly got darker as the followed twists and turns, going deeper into the earth.
Yami followed her leading, putting on his headlight as it got darker. Hands free was safer after all.
He seemed to be rather quiet, but if Maxie had glanced back, he wore a relaxed smile, and seemed to be enjoying himself already.

Maxie smiled, not seeming to care when things got cramped. There was only room for one of them to walk, but she kept one hand behind her, almost offering it him to. The cave was damp and beyond their footsteps there was only the sound of dripping to be heard.
Yami didn't seem to mind either, staying close behind her, taking the offer of her hand gently but firmly within his own. His hand was strong, but gentle, a certain feeling like he could easily crush you hand, but was being careful or something. But of course that was nonsense. He wasn't THAT athletic.
"Have you gone down this cave before?" Yami asked calmly.
"Have you gone down this cave before?" Yami asked calmly.
Maxie nodded, her light bouncing as she did, "A few times. There is a nice place around here to stop for lunch. It's got some formations like benches on the side. It's a nice rest spot." She kept his hand as the walls opened up. Her hand was rough, worked. It wasn't a feminine hand, instead it was a well used tool and if asked - she was proud of that.
Yami smiled a bit and nodded, "Alright. Sounds good to me." He replied.
He didn't need to eat. But after a long walk through a cave, it would be normal to eat.
Normal.
But he felt bad about that concept. He wasn't exactly lying... she hadn't asked.
But how was a person to expect an immortal, a God, to ask them out on a date.
It did seem... weird.
Yami enjoyed her holding his hand however despite the walls opening up, so allowed it,
it was a nice comforting feeling. The worn down and well used hands, he enjoyed them,
he never did like lazy people, and Maxie felt as if she worked for everything she had
and loved doing it. It made him feel warm inside. A person like that was rare.

Maxie waved her hand when they finally made it to the place she spoke of. It wasn't quite eleven by her watch, but she didn't mind. Three hours or so had passed since her breakfast. She sat down, crossing her legs, pulling her lunch from her bag, "So, are you working here, visiting, staying?"
Yami was surprised when they arrived, the time feeling like nothing.
Yami sat beside her, calm. He decided to make it look the part, reaching in his bag,
if one was paying attention a small light was seen for a split second as he pulled out a layered lunchbox.
It was wooden and rather traditional style, seemed to be handcrafted.
"I'm... sort of visiting. But I visit often." He explained slowly.
"I enjoy it around here, but it's not the safest place for me."
