The client walked into Ink Shields, where they would find Sloane precariously balanced on a small ladder–in high heels that still didn’t quite allow her to reach the highest corner of the room. Tattoos ran up and down the arms she stretched for the corner, and her dreads moved together in the thick ponytail that held them out of her face. She was putting up what appeared to be Halloween decorations: dark, boney items hanging from what looked like a dead tree. However, they were actually her year round decorations that she had brought down from her living space last minute to spice up the tattoo shop for the holiday. Authenticity had a subtle appeal, and the witch smiled to herself. “Welcome to Ink Shields–I’ll be with you in ooonnee moment,” she grunted, pressing up onto her toes to reach the final hook.
Autumn was Aileana's favorite season, especially around now with her favorite festival just around the corner. It was also a good time to visit the human world without needing her glamour to disguise herself, because people these days usually assumed she was wearing a costume. It was different in the old days, when more people believed in fae and were especially wary of anything "unusual" around this time when the usual barriers between worlds were lifted. Not that the glaistig couldn't get into the human world any time she wanted, it was just much easier now.
She'd been drawn to this place in particular because there was a feeling of magic about it, something she could detect due to her own magical nature. A moment was spent just looking around the place, curious about the source of magic. The person inside appeared to be an ordinary human, but if Aileana had to guess, the woman was likely a practicer of witchcraft. It wasn't something the fae knew much about, but there weren't many other explanations for magic among humans, and Aileana found herself curious of she would be recognized for what she was.
"Nice place ye got here," the small glaistig said with a grin, while holding herself back from wandering around and picking things up to examine them. It was possible some of the items could be dangerous to her kind. "Festive. Th' bones'r a nice touch."

Curious was this 'Halloween' that Valmela got to learn about this evening thus far. She pondered upon the holiday itself as she unwrapped one of the previous candies received from one of the homes offering candy to passersby. She pondered upon the fascination with temporary décor of pumpkins, black cats, sheet-like ghosts, and grossly exaggeratedly ugly witches. More importantly, she pondered the giving of sweet treats to strangers -- not that she was complaining.
Valmela's ears perked forward as she caught the scent of varying, salty and sour scents that she typically found in ink. When she looked, she did catch sight of a blonde individual, but she also looked and saw what she could only assume was a parlour -- from the smells, perchance an ink parlour.
Wandering over out of sheer curiosity, more to the scents rather than the people themselves, Valmela got a closer look. She peering into the window before going ahead to find the door that belonged to the place. What Valmela was a little confused by was the fact that this was a place to receive tattoos -- though she was certainly in no need. Were anyone to get a good look at Val underneath her rather heavily covering articles of clothing, they could catch the soft blue glow of the moonsilver tattoos from under her hat and the back openings of her gloves.
Valmela seemed a little lost at first, but when the blonde individual spoke, it shook her out of her own thoughts, and Val became a little more aware of the world around her. She looked to the woman that was putting up more décor for this Halloween festivity.
For now, the wolf-woman was quiet. She had not been present mentally for the words spoken by Aileana.

((Oops forgot about this sorry))
Aileana had been busy looking around the place and almost didn't notice the newcomer. Turning to face her, the glaistig immediately recognized the canine traits of the stranger, and her ears turned back slightly. She'd never been fond of dogs. But that immediate reaction faded quickly. A werewolf wasn't exactly a dog, so this stranger might be okay.
"Wasn't expectin' to find any wolves around here." She grinned, showing her small fangs.

"... Excuse me...?" Valmela replied, slowly turning her attention to Alieana. The silver-haired woman had her resting-'screw-off' face ever present, though there was a genuine sense of curiosity that the Exalt had despite all that.
"Yeah, I suppose wolves in the city would be odd..." Valmela said, purposefully failing to acknowledge that the comment had been made about her. So far as Val was concerned, her tells were only seen because she chose so. Were it any other night, Val would have been making more of an effort to keep her tells more discreet.

It occurred to Aileana that maybe the werewolf was doing the same thing she was--counting on people to think she was wearing a costume because of the holiday. Not that the glaistig cared, but explaining how she knew she wasn't talking to a human would have meant revealing her own nature, if the other two hadn't already figured it out. Not that she particularly cared if they knew, but she didn't want to risk it being advertised to the humans in this area.
"A joke, o' course," she said, waving off her comment, instead pretending she was commenting on the wolf's "costume". "Nice costume, though."

"Uh... huh..." Valmela gave a slight nod of vague acknowledgement before starting to venture through the tattoo parlour and seeing what other things were around. The Exalt was looking at some of the pictures of people that were showing off how happy they were with their tattoos -- and admittedly, the Lunar had to give credit where they were due; the tattoos in some of the pics were pretty neat.
