So, those of you who are in chat right now are listening to me babble on about how cool it would be to meet some of you guys. The problem is that I'm poor and don't drive. It's not like I can load up my car full of gas and just drive down to you.

Also, people would be freaked out if I just showed up on their doorstep. (just so you know, I would totally do that, if it wasn't so creepy.)

Meeting up this summer is WAY too soon, especially since I don't know when I'm quitting work. I have to get a job next summer, so that means I can't do it before August of next year. This is also the sort of thing that takes a touch of planning too. We'd need to find place to stay and meet. Places to eat. Things to do.

I've got some questions to ask you!
  • Who is interested in coming?
  • Where would be best for you? (Texas is my tentative choice at the moment. It's central, but far for me and Husband)
  • What sorta of things would we want to do? (a one-shot LARP would be cool!)
  • Who wants to be my assistant? (This will involve helping me find places to stay/eat, keep track of who is coming, etc)

Lemme know if there are any other questions I need to get answered! I'll keep up on this post if people are really interested!
I would love to, but I bet most people are in the US, and I'm in canada. Wayyyy to expensive for cross-country travelling.
I'd be up for it! Honestly, I don't think that I'd say no to anywhere in the States, because I think it's an awesome idea.

I've never LARPed, or anything like it, and I think that a lot of the what to do would depend on the where it was.

I would love to help you out with it, because I love trip planning, though I'm not sure how great of an assistant I'd make. :P

Ami! I'm Canada too. I'll be busing it. It'll be long and uncomfortable but totally worth it! Maybe we can do a Canadian one another time?
I'd love to do a canadian one sometime.

I wouldn't have the money to meet in the states, as being on disability, my funds are very limited.

I kinda live an ocean away. My boyfriend is in TX though, and I will be visiting him. I hope that it can somehow fit together, although I doubt it. :(

I'm not against the idea, let's see where this leads :)

While we're on this subject, people's next chance to meet me will be the end of august beginning of september this year in Atlanta for Dragon*Con.
I would love to do this but I don't know where we would meet at. I currently live in Illinois soooo. Lol

Well, Krissy, you're closer than JayBird and CaptainCassie at the moment. I'm pretty sure that even if no one else is going I'm forcing them to come meet me. :)

That is my next goal. Someone link me information with Dragon*Con. Maybe if I get a job I'll be lucky.

This would be really cool to meet a bunch of you! But as I'm going to college this August, I will be low on funds and not sure when I'm going to get my own car either. (plus my 'rents might flip their lid because of the 'unsafe'ness of it all). I will consider it definitely, since it still won't happen for some time. But I might have to sit this out :(

Where abouts in Texas? I lived in the Dallas/Ft. Worth area for a while, and Jay grew up there!

I'm in southwestern Indiana, so we aren't all that far apart at all, in the grand scheme of life.

Aww. We will come! :D
That's not tooo far. If we do decide to do this we can all do a road trip together in one car XD
I may be interested in coming, but I live in Canada so, it may be a bit hard for me to show up. But I'll start saving up anyways.

I'd be all for it! To me, it would make sense to piggy back this event on top of another one. A future DragonCon is an excellent example. This would mean that there was a huge amount to do already planned especially for people of our nerdy proclivities, we'd be able to promote ourselves as a group to the wider gaming and RP community, things like bulk hotel rates would have already been negotiated by another group with way more bargaining power than we have, and people would get more bang for their buck.

Another example would be the Texas Ren Faire.

At any such event, I could get us a booth so we could have a place to meet and to show ourselves off to the public, and we could still plan our own mini-events within the larger one.
OH MY GOD KIM THAT WOULD BE AMAZING.

For all who doesn't know what she is talking about, here is the Texas Renaissance Festival
...omg. Darth! I have relatives who live where Dragon*Con is being held! Maybe if I can get out there, I can stay there for the weekend and go to Dragon*Con. @.@
If you guys ever wanna go to ohio, we got all kinds of cons and a ren fair >>
