Something about the house on the side of the barren street seemed off. Was it the the way the light on the porch came on? The power had been off for awhile, so there was no reason for the light to come on. Was it the way that a small child would be seen in the yard, playing with a small toy car? But no one lived in the house. The house was abandoned after a fire badly destroyed the upper floors of the 3 story house, leaving it with 2 floors and stairs that hung in the air that used to be a 3rd floor.

Still, people would say they saw a child in the yard. Though they noted the kid did seem to be transparent a bit. The kid would seem to be upset, despite playing with the old toy car. The kid was obviously not living, but still existing. A lonesome child playing all by their self.

People would come to live in the house. They tried to fix it up, but something in the house kept scaring them off. Soon no one wanted to live in the house. Blue tarp would hang loosely on the windows, as if waving to those that walked past. By now it had been empty for several years, and was falling into disrepair. Yet still that child could be seen in the yard.

Then one day the child disappeared. One day the child was seen looking out the window...

The child watches out the window of the abandoned home, hands against the window. Yellow eyes watching everything, though the left hand looked skeletal. Yet the child didn't seem to be bothered...But waiting. For an unlucky visitor.
