It was just a tad bigger than a cottage, but it was a fabulously adorned abode nontheless. There was a pebble path winding through the yard, lit by jeering jack-o'-lanterns, with faces twisted into humorous, frightful, and exaggerated expressions. There was an overhang over the porch, which you had to step onto. Hanging from this overhang was a fringe curtain of orange and black halloween lights. A fog machine was set in the nearby bushes, covering the porch with a mysterious fog. Although it was impossible to tell who owned the brick home, it was clear they had spirit to spare.
Off to the side, there was a ramshackle shed with a wooden sign nailed to it, reading: "Haunted House". It was laughable, as that shed was hardly as big as a dressing room, let alone a house. But what the sign didn't say is that the shed led down to an underground maze which was tricked out with runes sure to give anyone nightmares...

Headed on her way home from a rather interesting venture, there was another thing that happened to pique Aera's interest. It was a house that looked decorated with rather cute pumpkins that someone took the time to carve and get set out. It was obvious that whoever set this up wanted to draw attention to the place....
Pausing at the door, Aera looked off to the side at the rather shoddy looking shack. There was a sign and she read it before looked again at the shack with an arched brow. Were her husband accompanying her, she likely would not have heard the end of the jokes or puns he had in regards to something so small being an effective source of excitement.
Approaching the door of the house, Aera simply knocked and waited at first. Perhaps there was someone inside that she could ask about the 'haunted house'. If not, then at least maybe what was up with the pumpkins and decorations. She had never seen such things from her homelands. Or rather, she had never seen such decorations and preparations made in her homelands.

A knock sounds throughout the house, so I eagerly rush to the door and open it, holding a large bucket of candy- cinnamony candy with a fruity kick, my favorite candy. "Hello." I said, a wide grin on my face. "Happy Halloween! Do you want candy, or were you interested in the haunted house... or was it perhaps a mix of both?" I asked excitedly. holding the bowl out.
"Well..." Aera started, placing a finger to her chin as she contemplated the question asked of her. Both sounded fun enough... though she would have preferred perhaps going through this 'haunted house' with a friend or even her husband if he were around.
"They both sound really nice... but I think I'll stick with the candy for now," Aera finally said, looking half-apologetic about the fact that she was declining the haunted house experience.

Had the fog machine malfunctioned? Suddenly, there was an eruption of yellowish green smoke. It dissipated slowly, clinging to any object it touched and spreading a musky smell of old socks through the area.
As the disgusting smoke cleared, a gigantic snail, fully three feet tall at the top of its shell, was sitting at the epicenter of the smoke explosion. It appeared to have gotten its eyestalks tangled, and was pulling them both in opposite directions and making sad noises to itself.
