It was lunchtime in the small ninja training camp in the Hoshidan countryside. A young shinobi had a tray with a peanut butter and honey sandwich, some fruit, and a pile of cookies. He sat down and began chomping on a cookie.
"Eating dessert first, I see." A familiar male voice said. Asugi looked up and smirked at his friend. "Yeah, Chubbs, life's short, eat dessert first."
"You know I hate that nickname." The other young man was shorter and plumper than Asugi. He had dirty blond, spiked hair. Asugi had dark brown hair, and his red eyes twinkled slightly.
"Lighten up." He said. "All right...Choji. Sometimes you're no fun."
Choji shrugged. "Last time I checked, poking fun at someone's weight wasn't fun." Before Asugi could respond, he changed the subject. "Soooo. You and Ai are this year's graduating class. You nervous? Excited?" He broke into an onery grin. "Gonna take her out to dinner and a show afterward?"
"Shut up!" Asugi swatted at Choji. "The girl just lost her parents, I'm not going to make a move!"

Of course, Ai was sitting by herself at one of the tables. Her perspective on life was warped... For now, she at a home-made meal she brought to school. It was Udon, mixed with vegetables and miso soup.. If one selectively looked inside, there was mushrooms and chicken in there. She began eating with chopsticks, poised and controlled on the subject of proper holding.
All was going good until she grabbed her head suddenly. The flashbacks returned for a moment, pain excruciating enough for her to grind her teeth. And then it subsided, and she successfully made no noise what-so-ever to even show what was possibly bothering her.
And there it was, with a graceful movement of her hand, she grasped the chopsticks again, and returned to the somber moment of eating alone.

Saizo found the scene in front of him amusing. The only two seniors, his son and a girl named Ai, were on opposite sides of the lunch room. And of course, his son had like six cookies. He still didn't know where that sweet tooth came from.
Ai had been easy to train, she passed with flying colors. Asugi did too, but it took some prodding. It might've been because it's easier to listen to an authority figure that's not a nagging parent, but still. And then there was Choji...he'd be next year's graduate if things went well. Asugi and Choji hung out together. A lot. Saizo was probably paranoid, but the blond kid resembled an old enemy way too much...
He grabbed some chicken and veggie soup, and noticed that Ai had something similar as he passed her, only with mushrooms. "Shitaki mushrooms." He commented. "I could never get Asugi to eat those. He only eats portabellos, but only if they're drowning in sugar." The redheaded sensei then shrugged and continued walking to the teachers' table. His partner, Kagero, was already there, and Sasha and Scriye should be there shortly. Sometimes it felt odd being the only male sensei, there were already nasty rumors going around...which annoyed him. He only had eyes for Kagero.

Ai hadn't been listening to anyone. Even with some whispering about her, saying that she may of killed her parents, that her parents may have set up the whole ordeal to get out easy so they wouldn't have to raise her.
It was inhumane... So disgusting, to her. After a while, she cupped her hands over her ears, having flashbacks, once more, with sound this time... It was haunting, hearing her own scream, whimpers.
After a moment, she saw Saizo, and pulled her hands from her ears. "Oh... Sir, yeah... I love mushrooms." She tried to force a happy smile. "That's unfortunate though... That he only eats portabellos. All foods need to be tried once or twice to see if one likes it." Her eyes went to glance at Asugi for just a bit... Lingering as she went back to eating her soup. Ai wondered where life would take her now... If she could avenge her parents death... And also find her path, of what she truly wants deep down.

((Heya! It's says ask to join, so I was wondering if that's something I could do!))
Sasha and Scirye grabbed some food, however they were arguing and didn't see what they got. They were twins, yet they didn't get along very well. They continued arguing all the way to the teacher's table, where they stopped arguing and sat at opposite ends.
"I swear you two argue like an old married couple." Kagero looked up from her food and blinked. "What happened this time?" Saizo nodded in agreement beside her, silently eating his soup. Kagero smiled slightly. It was always nice when he agreed with her, it didn't happen as often as she would've liked.
The two twins sent each other glares before turning to the other teachers. "She's annoying and keeps interrupting my work." They said almost in unison before sending another glare at each other.
Akine approached the gates of the village, hailing the guards stationed to oversee it. Clad in all black, his figure was difficult to see even in contrast to the blazing sun. After speaking with the guards, he was told to wait before entering, for they were going to bring someone else for him to speak with. The ninja waited idly, resting himself against the wooden supports of the wall.

Saizo rolled his eye. Those two kunoichi didn't know how annoying they both were to everyone else. Maybe he was lucky his own twin did his own thing...he hadn't seen Kaze in years, but when they were together, they didn't act like this. Kaze had gotten on his nerves sometimes while they were growing up...that was the thing, this sort of behavior was only acceptable with children. "You are acting like five year olds." His bad eye was open just a tiny bit, showing annoyance.
"Sir and Ma'ams?" One of the gate guards appeared. "There's a shinobi at the gate, says he has business here."
"What does he look like?" Saizo turned and tensed slightly.
"White hair. About as tall as you, maybe shorter."
Saizo didn't know any white haired shinobi. So this newcomer could be either a potential friend or foe. Making sure he had his shurikens properly sheathed, he stood up. "I'll go. Kagero, you can sort out Sasha and Scriye. Again..." Trying to mediate those two was like trying to get two attack dogs to share a steak, but if anyone could do it, it would be Kagero.
He followed the guard, then looked at the newcomer. "State your name and business."

Ai watched as the twins fought. This was ridiculous. It seem it was every day they were irritated with each other. Mentally shrugging it off, she returned to finished up her soup, and putting the bowl, chopsticks, and spoon in a container, to prevent her bag from getting messy.
Then, any other trash she had, she simply picked up, stood, and walked over to the trash can with grace. They were merely tossed. Her eyes went to look at Asugi for a moment. If he caught that glance, he would also see a smile before she turned towards the entrance of the cafeteria area. It faded as soon as it appeared. She walked silently, just as a ghost. What was on her mind?

"Did you see that?" Choji cuffed Asugi's shoulder so hard he dropped an apple core off his tray. "She looked at you."
"Yeah, I saw it." Asugi picked up the apple core. "Was that a smile?" He found himself thinking she was cute when she smiled, but dismissed that thought.
Choji seemed to read his mind. "I think it was. She's kinda cute when she's not scowling." Asugi stared at him with wide eyes. Choji laughed. "Hey, I said kinda! She's a moderate 6, I think. She'd be cuter if she wasn't so shy and grumpy all the time. Not my type."
Asugi dumped his tray and put the remaining cookie in his pocket for later. "So what is your type? You know, Azuka's been trying to get your attention for a week. Did you not notice her just happening to linger by your locker every day?" He had a smirk on his face. "Well, time to go back to class."
Just then, Saizo walked past to the gate, the rest of the senseis seemed to be waiting for him to return. Choji smirked back. "Not yet, looks like. Good luck getting her out of her shell, lover boy."
"Yeah, well, don't let Asuka's dad catch you smooching. You know how overprotective he can be sometimes. Good day to you." His tone was sarcastic and his eyes almost rolled clear back into his head. Choji left, still smirking and giggling. Sometimes he could be so obnoxious.
He approached Ai, hesitated for a second, then spoke. "Looks like they're not going to call off lunch hour until my dad gets back. He went to the gate, don't know why."
