''I'm guessing I could, but it wasn't active until I got healed. Like magic..''
"Interesting." Sterling carefully rubbed his finger over the talon. "Whoever they were, they were definitely onto something."
''But dangerous and it hurts me. I can feel my bones shift.''
Sterling shuddered. "That sounds horrible. I'm amazed you shape shift at all."
''Only if it's forced or I want to get around faster. These blades seem to change with me, too.''
Sterling frowned. "Does it matter which form you're in when you eat? Or is it all the same?"
''I have to be in my human form to eat, because in my other forms it seems my insides are gone.''
Sterling swallowed back the rising bile. "That's disgusting. Well, we'll be out of this city in no time.I've got food in my pack although I should have picked up another canteen. I'd really hate to cross a vampire without holy water." He grimaced.
''My blades are silver colored. If we encounter trouble, I'll change back into my human form long enough to disract people so you can escape. And if it's vampires, I'll chop their head off with my tail.''
"I'm not the one that needs to escape, you are," Sterling recalled, his hand resting on the hilt of his sword. "But thank you; I might take you up on your help with the vampires. Werewolves too, are allergic to silver."
He grimaced slightly, recalling the irony with his name and werewolves, before shaking his head. It didn't matter.

''The Cerberus I met was a Werepyre too. But silver didn't hurt him since he had a sister whos fur was a silky version of pure silver. Her name was Silver...''
"That's probably where Holy Water would come in handy..." Sterling said. "Silver doesn't work on everything, but it works on most things. And the stuff it doesn't work on, holy water does. And if holy water doesn't, then I'm probably not dealing with a demon..."
He frowned and glanced sidelong at Elder. "You weren't affected by holy water, were you? You just got wet, right?"
He frowned and glanced sidelong at Elder. "You weren't affected by holy water, were you? You just got wet, right?"
''Wet and my eyes burnt a bit. But the only 'demon' in me is the way I can mentally speak to the Cerberus who can come aid me if needed.''
Sterling did react then. He brushed the hawk off his shoulder and turned to face Hybrid. "What?! You have that kind of link...connection...with that thing?"
Hybrid snorts, flying in the air. ''Yes, but it's pretty weak. It's not a pure demon. It's a demon whos heritage comes from angel. He's earthbound because he was exiled from where he used to live. He'a grown depressed because he can't find hid sibling, an angel.''
"Cerberus has a sibling who's also an Angel? How the hell does that work?" Sterling frowned and rubbed his temple and then his shoulder where the hawk had been perching. He was stiff from the hawk's unaccustomed weight.
''Their mother was a cross breed of demon an angel. Only natural that one would be evil, and the other born angel. Complicated, yes, but full pf chaos as Hunters seek to find the mother.''
"And how, per se, did you get a link to such a-, to ah, Cerberus?" Sterling amended his words. "Do you or Cerberus know where the mother is?"
''The Cerberus knows where she is but he dare not speak of it unless his life is on the line. I got the link after I helped him get free of the flooded building.''
"Hm, is that right." Sterling muttered, resuming their current walk. "Was this just after you learned of your new abilities then?"
