Several hours passed until Elder folowed the arrpow in his wolf form. Darkness kept to the shadows, but relied on Elder to find Sterling.
Sterling kept his eyes and ears open, making good progress for all that he was on his own and striking out towards certain death. Really. Why did he force himself into these situations?
He consulted the map once more, before tucking it securely away. One hand always resting upon his sword, the other on a stake hidden in his trench coat, he was ready for an attack...
So when the first of the Day Walkers attacked, he made quick work of staking and beheading them. He left three small piles of ashes behind for his demon followers to discover.

So when the first of the Day Walkers attacked, he made quick work of staking and beheading them. He left three small piles of ashes behind for his demon followers to discover.
The two demons saw the ashes hours later, looked at eachother, then resumed the chasing. Though Dark flew only at night, when his were form was nothing more than a darker shadow within the moonlight. His chains still rattled, Elder having trouble keeping sight of Dark. He was tiring, but he wouldn't rest until he found the hunter.
Sterling wasn't completely inhuman. He had to stop for a break and when he did so, he made sure to put a tree at his back and keep his weapons handy. He ate slowly and methodically, and kept a close eye on his surroundings. It would close the gap between him and the demons pursuing him.
But just as he got up to continue his journey, he was attacked a second time--by more day walkers. "Damn--" He fumbled for the canteen of holy water he no longer had and then drove a stake through one vampire's unbeating heart.
The second one managed to get close enough to lunge for him, but his sword took care of it. And the third one, again, lunged from behind--grazing his neck with its teeth. Sterling grimaced and clapped a hand to his neck, driving the other one with a stake in it into the creature's heart. It dissolved into dust as Sterling waited for another attack.
When nothing seemed to be coming, he leaned back against the tree and sighed with relief. He was still alive. Somehow.

There was a soft sound of beating wings until the large and somewhat starved Werepyre wolf landed in the tree carefully. The torn wings folded weakly as Darkness shut his eyes tightly. He couldn't bare to tell Sterling that Elder had gotten lost.
With that Dark lightly tapped the tree trunk with a bruised paw. Few vampires had attacked him. Most steered clear of a shadowed beast with fangs and wolf ears mixed up into a monster.

Sterling flinched and looked up when the shadow crossed over him to land above him. He relaxed slightly, recognizing Darkness.
"Darkness," he nodded and then looked around. "Where's Hybrid?"
"Darkness," he nodded and then looked around. "Where's Hybrid?"
''Elder lost sight of me as I headed here. I flew in the shadows. I'm starving, but otherwise fine.''
"Oh," said Sterling, looking into the shadows once more. "I'd offer you food but vampire ashes aren't very good for anything. Um, what do you eat?" He did have some provisions in his pack, but he doubted they were anything that Darkness might want to eat...dried meat only went so far as to fill a terribly hungry stomach.
Dark looked around, then sighed. ''Usually blood...'' He said, and Sterling could catch Dark grimacing at the thought of drinking blood in the first place. Dark was part vampire and werewolf, but no matter how many times he was hungry he hated to drink blood from other living things.
Sterling grimaced. "Why am I always surrounded by blood suckers? I'd offer my own, but I think I might be toxic to you." He rubbed his neck once more, from where the vampire grazed him with its fangs, and then lowered his hand.
This was where Darkness chuckled. ''I have a sister who's fur is made of pure silver bits. She's immune to the vamps and weres bites. So I usually bit her, but drunk only enough to quench my thirst. My sister is a humanoid figure covered in silky silver fur and has light green eyes. She's more hyper than me, but for some reason people are terrified of her. Saying how she killed thousands, and hunters get uneasy around her.''
"H-how much blood do you need?" Not that he was considering donating blood from himself...he wasn't that crazy. Of course the crazy scale was constantly changing, and Sterling really didn't want to consider that what he was doing now, would put his former self into hysterics.
''Eh, usually about like a tiny sip? My bites are quick and painless.''
Sterling regarded the massive werepyre with distrust. "How tiny are we talking here. Tiny for you or tiny for me?" Not that he was going to donate. No.
''Tiny to me is about as much blood thats used when humans give blood to save people.'' Dark inquired. Already feeling faint from talking about it. He was still in the tree, the pendant hanging from his neck once more. ''Every vamp that sees me runs away..''
Sterling didn't give himself time to think about what he was offering. He held his arm out to Darkness and half turned away so he wouldn't see it coming. "Then be quick about it."
Dark hops down from the tree with a thud.
It didn't take long for Sterling to feel a quick sting of two needle-like objects. This was when Dark started to drink, despite have relatively small fangs in general. It was only when he started to leg go that his thin fangs broke..

Sterling kept his eyes firmly on his surroundings and not on the demon feasting on his arm. He refused to think about what he was doing, when a sharp pain suddenly broke his concentration.
"Ow! What'd you do?" he retracted his arm to see the silver fangs embedded in his arm still. Grimacing, he pulled the slivers of silver free and then pulled out an ointment tube from his pocket. With a quick dollop, and a moment of pain, the injury healed up readily enough--with no sign of having been fed on by a demon or a werepyre. Whatever the hell the creature was.
"Do those grow back?" he asked.

''I..Uh....'' Darks ears drooped. He was speechless, missing the two fangs. ''I don't know. I'm thinking that going without blood made them fragile. But I do feel better now..Your blood tasted like silver.'' Dark retorted. ''And see? It didn't hurt me. When your around a hyperactive bouncy silver thing you call your sister you learn to get used to the pain. Sorry that they broke off in your arm, though..''
Sterling grimaced and shook his arm out. He had lost a fair amount of blood and he sat down to open up his pack. A little bit of food at least would help with the blood loss. "Well, I guess if that makes you feel better; I've had worse. Vampire fangs are infinitely more painful--and bigger." He was still trying not to think about what he'd just done.
He pulled out some dried meat and began to chew on it; waiting for Elder to catch up.
