''It'll be the only time you'll see just what kind of monster I have become. Even one hunyer that crossed my path escaped only to die a week later from a burn in his heart.'' Dark cringed, shaking badly. ''A werewolf with wings of fi...'' And he flinched, shushing.
"Yeah, see, with me it's pretty simple. Find a demon, slay it, get out. End of story. I don't care about what kind of demon you are, as long as you pose a threat to humans, I'll just take you out. One less threat." He shugged. "It works for me; or did. Until I got in this fiasco."
''Only problem is that I keep returning after death.'' He hissed.
''Umm, guys..The next blood moon is like..a day away.'' Elder spoke up.
''Umm, guys..The next blood moon is like..a day away.'' Elder spoke up.
"Yes, well, what have you learned in the meantime? Anything helpful?" Sterling glanced at Elder and then up at the sky. They were making decent progress again through the woods. They might even make it before evening.
"Really? That soon already? I suppose it is cyclical...but I'd prefer it way until I'm dead before rising again." He sighed, scratched his head, and then paused to look around before consulting the map. "We're another hour's walk before we make it to the valley and the Vault. So far, it seems we've only encountered the Day Walkers guard. We don't have to worry too much until night fall."

''And mutant hamsters.'' Elder added. ''Then theres the Slime Frogs that live in the marsh near the Vault..''
He didn't pause, until the mention of slime frogs and then he shuddered. "Slime frogs?" He didn't bother to hide the disgust in his voice. "I've yet to encounter one of those."
''Yes, their frogs that are made of slime.''
"Then I'll leave those to you and Dark. Think you can handle it?" He glanced at the map again, trying to gauge how far it was from the Vault to the marsh. Unfortunately, it looked too close for comfort.
"Please tell me that marsh doesn't encompass the vault!" came Sterling's anguished cry a moment later.

''Yep, it's around the vault.'' Elder inquired.
''My moms probably close to it too. Hunters drove her to there. She doesn't come out unless their chasing her..'' Dark grumbled.

"Great," muttered Sterling. "Slime frogs," he shuddered, "and a demon's mother. What more could-" he bit his tongue. "Never mind. I'm sure something will crop up."
There was the sound of something crashing through the underbrush and Sterling looked up, unsheathing his sword in one smooth movement. Whatever it was, it was getting closer.

Elder tensed up, claws spreading.
Darkness growls, fur frizzing up as his large wings spread as he stood up onto his hind legs. ''Who is it?''

More Day Walkers came flying out of the bushes. Sterling grins and whacks one headless with one swing of his sword. "For being bloodless, they really don't have much of a brain. Poor guys."
But three more have circled around them, two launching themselves at Elder, the third at Darkness.
"Look out!" Sterling warned, turning and missing yet another one springing for his back.

Elder goes into berzerk mode and mauls the halpless beings with his tail and claws, snarling. Or tries.
Darkness roars and swings his claws at the one that lunged at him, fire blowing out of his mouth.

rolled 1d2 and got 2
1. The two suceed in their attack 2.They fail miserably
Sterling didn't see the attack coming--from either behind or from Darkness until the jet of fire appeared suddenly. He dove to get out of the way...but whether he made it in time or not--it was up to luck.
rolled 1d4 and got 2
1. Blasted with fire. 2. Ducks the fire but nabbed by vampire. 3. He and vamp get blasted by fire. 4. He ducks and stakes vampire.
Elder gets tackled by the two Daywalkers, and kicks and flails wildly about with his tail and claws. He slashes and attacks them violently, ignoring a shooting pain in his tail. He couldn't see anything fro being attacked, and the Daywalkers were still attacking him.
Darkness' fire misses and passes just away from Sterling as the Were is tackled by the Daywalker and goes into a frenzy fit of mauling it until its torn to shreds.

He felt the heat pass by him before a new pain struck his neck. A face buried into his neck startled him and he yelled even as he drew a stake from his trench coat and tried to shove it into the creature behind him.
The Day Walker screamed in pain, loosening its hold long enough for Sterling to turn and stake it cleanly through the heart, turning it to ash. He then threw himself into the fray with Elder--slicing at the one that had the misfortune of biting at his bladed tail.

The Daywalker screams at being sliced and attempts to attack Sterling as Elder kicked the remaining away, gritting his teeth and swinging his bladed tail about. ''Ack..These things..'' He groaned, cringing.
Darkness flinches and shook off, eying the Daywalkers that were still around. If any were, that is. His pendant still in clear view.

"Did I mention," Sterling says as he impales a third Day Walker, "that these are just the Day Walkers? The Masters are twice as bad...if not worse."
He stumbles and falls, his neck throbbing. "Damn it, I'm still weak from Dark's feeding." Already, hot fiery pain was lancing down his neck and he scrambled for more of the special vampire/demon ointment he had.

Elder clutches his hurting tail in pain. ''It bit me!'' He hissed.
Darkness calmed down slightly, fur flattening.

"You're not the only one." He found the tube of paste and grimaced as he spread it on his injury. Searing pain, the slightest smell of garlic, and then the injury and fiery pain with it, was gone. "You want some of this? It'll help counter the pain of the vampire bite--but it'll hurt like hell for a few seconds."
