Jennas temper rose to a boiling point. Enough that she charged at Sterling on all fours. When she got close enough she attempted to headbutt him with the dull point of her horns, the shattered halo visible on the end.
rolled 1d2 and got 2
1. Headbutt knocks him into marsh. 2. Headbutt misses entirely,
Sterling narrowly dodged and fell to the side to evade her headbutt. But as her head goes whipping past him, he grabs the tranq dart and aims for her neck.
rolled 1d2 and got 2
1. She's close enough to hit. 2. She's too far and he misses.
The tranq misses, as Jenna skids to a halt and turns around and fires a stream of icy fire at Sterling from her mouth, halo glowing dimly. It was short lived as she choked on ice before the fire hit sterling. There was a cross stray vial near his feet that was full of holy water, enough to harm Jenna.
She charges at him again after recovering from the ice, growling. ''Your going to pay for your insults!''

He never even saw the holy water vial on the ground, until she paused briefly. And then he was down and scooping it up, not knowing what it was or what it might do.
"Stay back!" He yelled, brandishing both the vial and the crossbow bolt at her. "Or I'll use these!"

Too late.
Jenna's dull horns got closer to Sterling as she charged faster, roaring.

Sterling had a decision to make. A brief one: brace himself for the hit to sink the tranq, or run and lob the vial of water at her.
rolled 1d2 and got 1
1. Braces for a hit and uses tranq. 2. Runs and lobs vial.
With a sickening random sound her dulled horn fronts hits Sterling at full force. The tranq also hits her and she screeches. She looses her balance and lands beside him after a horn breaks off, loosely embedded into his shoulder.
Sterling yelled in pain and dropped--or would have had her momentum not thrown him several feet onto his back. Sharp pain in his shoulder woke him from a brief black-out and he found part of her horn embedded there.
With a grimace, he pulled it out and rolled to his feet. The world spun and his chest hurt like none other. He was gonna be black and blue before he even reached the Masters. He slowly approached Jensara to see if she was out cold. The bolt he had lost his grip on, though he could see it was now lodged in her.
"I hate to fight and run, but I don't have much choice. The Masters will awaken soon and I have no idea where Darkness or Elder have gone." He picked up his sword with his good hand.

Jenna cringed and attempted to stand up but collapsed. She winced, rubbing where the horn had snapped off.
''Grrgh....My horn...'' She hissed, and stood shakily up, though the dart was already starting to make her falter. ''You..werle....ferr...'' She said, her speech slurring.

Sterling brought the sword to her neck. "I'm sorry, I didn't quite catch that. If you agree to leave me alone, I will not slay you as I have the other demons. A simple hiss for a yes will suffice. Otherwise I will assume you mean to attack when you wake up."
Jenna passed out with a thud, away from the sword though a similiar mark for hell could be seen on her shoulder.
He looked down at her, raised his sword, and then in a swift movement--sheathed it. "Just this once, demon."
He saw the sign for hell on her shoulder and paused briefly enough to uncork the vial and wet the tip of his index finger. Corking the vial again, he carefully traced the symbol with his finger.
He wasn't sure if it would work. If the water was even holy water. Or if simply tracing over the symbol would be enough to destroy it, but it was all he could do for now. Rising, he headed for the Vault.

Jenna cringes in great pain as the symbol sizzles and vanishes right in front Sterling before he got up. She grits her teeth, then opens her eyes a bit, coughing. ''Ugh....''
He never paused as he sprinted for the Vault. If he didn't arrive before nightfall, it wouldn't matter that he had made friends with two demons or nearly slain a third.
His sword knocked against his leg as he ran, and the vial of water took up residence next to the ointment against vampires. He might be able to hold out against them for a little while, but he needed to find Darkness and Elder first.

Darkness was the first to awaken at the vault, his blue eyes opening cautiously as he tried to see what creatures were at his location...
It was a harrowing journey through the marsh of slime frogs...
Meanwhile, a few humans and couple of Day Walkers emerged from where they were hiding to look at their latest catch. They had been careful to tie Elder's tail down with its blade, and kept Darkness' jaws tied shut to avoid fire or teeth.
"Well, well, well, look what we have to offer our Masters." Crowed one Day Walker, walking precariously close to Darkness. "It's not every day you see a demon and a Hunter walking--or should I say working--together. What's your secret?"

Dark narrowed his eyes, hating that his fangs couldn't be seen. ''Grrrrff.....'' He hissed, ears pinned back. He then attempted to slash out at the daywalker violently, vision still weak. Elder cringed, then opened his mismatched eyes before turning pale.
The Day Walker scuttled back a few steps, narrowly avoiding Darkness's claws. He laughed and then turned to Elder. "And what reason do you have of traveling with a Hunter and a demon?"
Sterling cursed loudly as he finally emerged from the marsh of slime frogs. He was covered in goo, and the tip of his sword dripped with ooze. Something ribbit-ed behind him and with one fluid movement, he turned and impaled the frog with a throwing dagger. With a sigh, he reclaimed his dagger and continued on his way--leaving a trail of slime with every footstep.

Dark growls as he changes painfully into his demonic form. A hellfire flame burns the rope off, and he roars at the daywalkers. His membranous wings became covered in loose feathers as his hidden horns lengthen in shape until the pure white horns could be seen against his thick fur. His left back foor became a,most all bone, while fur hangs from his arms. The runes on his legs become more visible, along with the stripes on his tail as it thinned. The edge of his tail ends in a spade, edged in spikes. His hair grows to his shoulders, still dark blue.
Elder stared in pure horror, trembling.

Sterling heard the roar and he picked up his pace, squelching along at a good clip. He hoped he wasn't too late and at the same time, he was not prepared for the sight he saw.
The daywalkers and humans ran, some to leap at Darkness, others diving for cover. One went over to Elder, keeping watch to make sure he didn't sever his bonds as much as to seek shelter from Darkness' anger.
Sterling sprinted forward, sword drawn and cut down two of the fleeing daywalkers who ran past.
