The hours flew by, with a doom poodle pup jumping on Sterlings belly after 2hrs had passed.

''BARKBARKBARKBARK! BAAARRRK! BARKBARKBARK!''

He awoke and was promptly stomped on by something small and shrill. "What-" He groaned and shoved whatever was on top of him off.

When he rolled over and opened his eyes to stare at the yapping menace, he groaned. "Well aren't you a sight for sore eyes." He had no feeling in his hands and feet, and his whole body tingled. But he managed to sit up. "Guys?" he looked over at Darkness, Jensara and Elder..."Aww man."

Elder was starting to groan and stir, fur frizzed out as he regained feeling his his face and chest. ''Ugh..What was that thing? It was so fast....''

"It was one of those eel things," Sterling replied. "How are you feeling Elder? You got drained by a master vampire AND zapped by an eel."

''Sore...How am I still alive? Without being a vampire?..''

Sterling grinned. "I have an ointment that prevents the vampirism from taking hold. It's basically made with garlic, holy water, and wood ground together in a pulp. It hurts like hell, but it does the trick. I'm glad you're alive though. Darkness pulled some sort of blood trick with his Cerberus form--it wasn't pretty."

Elder winced before he stood shakily, his shattered claws closed. ''All my blades are now broken..''

Sterling blinked and was surprised by the new development. "What happened? Do they grow back?" he inquired of Elder. Although if they were anything like his tail blade, he suspected they wouldn't.

''They don't grow back. I usually sharpen then if their still long enough. But their clean off.''

"Well, in some ways that could be a good thing," Sterling offered. "You're more human looking now."

It was the best he could offer, given the situation and his circumstances, and at last the sun rose, shedding blessed daylight on them.

"Thank God, it's morning."

Elder winces, rubbing a deep scratch over his dark purple eye. ''Daylight already? It felt like eternity when I was fighting Relan..'' Elder groaned, the scratch starting to bleed. ''At least he's gone...Right?'' Elder asked.

Darkness shook off, and Jenna finally rose, shivering.

Sterling nodded. "Saw him turn to ash myself. It's a relief knowing he's no longer around. He was one smart-a--hunter. And you don't even have a mark to show for being bit, which is a lot more than others can say."

He fell quiet as he contemplated their next plans. Tonight would be the night of the blood red moon, and Darkness would be turning full on demon. Sterling wasn't sure he should stick around for that part of it.

"Darkness; how long does your change last? And, uh, how exactly does it affect you--personality-wise?"

''It lasts until daylight, and my personality becomes that of nothing more than to destroy everything in my path!''

"Do tranquilizers have any effect on you?" Not that he wanted to drug Darkness senseless until the night passed, but he really didn't want a rampaging demon to come into town.

''Hell if I know. No ones tried to shooting me with them because my horns usually end up impaling them. I have four horns in total.''

"Well then, I suppose the best thing to do would be to get as far from you as possible before nightfall." Sterling looked at Jensara. "Do you have the same, er, condition?"

She scoffs, offended deeply. ''I'm not a werepyre. I'm just a demon whos father tried to kill her.'' She sneered.

Then an 8inch slug covered in cheetah spots lands on Sterlings nose.

(i have a cheetah slug IRL. those thing are hard to get off!)

"...right." He grabbed his trench coat, ready to leave this hellhole, when a wet, slimy something landed on his face.

"AAAAHHHH. Get it off, get it off, getitoff!" He yelled. Using the sleeve of his jacket to protect his hand from ooze, he tried to pull it off.

The looong slug gets stuck on his nose and pulling it off left a sticky residue. Now it was stuck on the sleeve, and was slowly crawling it's way up the shoulder.

Sterling took off his jacket and flapped it violently to try and shake off the slug.
