''I can't see anything. I can hear you, but not see you. I see blackness. I hurt you?'' He whined.

"Well, I had it coming; I was hurting you first by removing the runes on your legs. Probably your blindness has something to do with that. Hopefully it'll pass though."

Sterling sighed. If it wasn't one thing, it was another with these demon types.

''I everyone ok, though? I hear something coming...''

Sterling had had enough dealings with slimy things; enough to recognize the squelchy landing of something with four legs and a super long tongue.

A string of curses escaped his mouth. "Why couldn't they have attacked when you were in your demon form? Hybrid! Hybrid, wake up! We're gonna have company shortly."

Elder stirred, snorting. ''I have a broke arm.'' He sneered, but both his eyes were dark purple, glazed over as his tail blade grew back. Almost shaped like scythe.

Darkness winces, and faces the frogs, growling loudly and drooling.

"Do you need a boost into the tree, Hybrid?" There was no telling how many slime frogs were encroaching. At the very least, the ground seemed to jump forward every few feet.

Elder stood up shakily, and swung his tail at the air, hitting the rocks in front of him with a cling.

Darkness roared, shaking the entire area a bit, as a ball of fire started to form in his mouth.

Sterling waited quietly, letting Darkness and Elder show off whilst he went about preparing his crossbow again. Two bolts left and then he'd be down to his sword. Which he'd left--oh confound it! It was beneath a mass of slime frogs.

"Alright, you wanna play hard to get, I'll play hard to get." He grabbed a thick piece of bark, intending to use it as a shield, but only if he had to.

"Darkness, if you can aim your blast over in that direction," he pointed to where his sword was, "That would be great."

Darkess fires a scorching hot blast of fire at the direction pointed in, searing the frogs and cooking a few!

"Thanks!" Sterling ran into the destruction zone, using a sleeve to grab the heated sword. No sense in burning himself; although the smell of roasted slime frog was not bad. He shook his head to clear his thoughts.

And then he heard a ribbit and a croak and he turned to find two slime frogs lauching themselves at him. "Augh!" He swung his sword, skewering one frog and de-legging the other.

Darkness devoured one cooked frog, the went to toasting the others while Elder used his tail blade to slie some into pieces. One frogs loong as long tounge whipped out and wrapped out Sterlings arm and pulled back hard.

Sterling was thrown off balance as the tongue looped around his arm and then pulled. "Let go of me!" He lost his sword and pulled out a dagger instead, turning to cut himself free and severing the tongue.

He wiped his arm off, pulling the remaining coil of tongue away and dropping it to the ground. He shuddered.

Another mutant frog latched it's tounge onto his sword and started hopping away fast. Dark crushed it with his feet, cringing as goo scattered. All the frogs suddenly fused into one huge mutant slimy frog that croaked loudly. It had a hamster in it. The dreaded mutant gerbil and giant mutant frof that was about the size of a tall pine tree.

''Riibiit.''

Sterling took one look at the giant oozing mass of slime frogs and nearly lost his composure.

"Oh come on!" he griped. "Mother nature is turning over in her grave right now--or would be if she had died. That's just unnatural!"

He recovered his sword from the slime frog and turned to the face the abomination. "Lord give me strength." He was coin toss away from going mad with fear or losing all sense of sanity and run towards the creature.

Dark growled and shot a fireball at it. But the fire mearly toasted it's outside, and scent of chicken filled the room.

What he wouldn't give for Hybrid's working arm. Sterling hefted his sword and with a warrior's cry, ran for the creature. He didn't bother to swing it, rather he went for penetration, digging the sword in as far as it would go, even past the hilt, grimacing and clenching his teeth as his hand and arm were swallowed up as well.

At last he let go of the sword and pulled his arm out. He was drenched in slime up to his shoulder and he looked ready to be sick.

The frog croaks in pain and spits a wad of goop at Sterling. But just as was about to hit Elder smacked it back with his tail blade, wincing. The goop hits the frog and it chokes, backing up.

"Nice aim," Sterling said, ducking out of the way. He threw a throwing knife at it to speed things along and then looked for Darkness. "Can we get a little more fire, now that we've gotten weapons in it?"

Darkness unleashes one more fireball at it as the sun starts to rise outside and pain makes the fireball toast the frog throughly, cooking it and killing it.

Sterling gave a tired whoop at the victory and then collapsed. He was tired. Not just tired, bone tired.

"I will be perfectly happy if I never have to do anything like that again." He said from his prone position on the ground. "Ever, ever again."
