Elder growled at Sterling in annoyance, then drunk it without much trouble. It didn't take much for him to get drunk, and his vision blurred. Hopefully no one had a shiny thing that was within reach of his bladed tail.
Unfortunately with the return of the server, Sterling had brought out another coin and flipped it to her again. As the coin flipped in mid-air, the rotating sides flashed silver in the lantern-lit bar.
She placed the mug of mead before Sterling once again before reaching to catch the coin.

Elder flinched at seeing the shiny coin.
Clink!
A bladed tail easily sliced it in half, and Elder laughed droggily. Obviously drunk, it seemed.

Sterling flinched and the server pulled back with a scream. With a mug and a half of mead in him, Sterling wasn't nearly drunk enough to cause a scene. He grabbed the serving woman's arm and pulled her out of harms way as the tavern went silent and turned to look at them.
"Uh, sorry, folks. Nothing to see here." He slipped the server a gold coin. "Nothing to see here, go take a break." She nodded and hurried away, as Sterling sighed.
"You just wasted a perfectly good coin, Elder. And the likelihood of my getting drunk."

Elder just flinches lightly, half the coin stuck to the jagged tail blade he had. ''Shiny...'' He said, both eyes dark red and twitching.
Sterling sighed. Now he had a problem on his hands. "Alright, maybe drinking was a bad idea. No more for you. Let's go."
He levered himself to his feet and then grabbed the non-sharp portion of Elder's tail, waving the shiny half-coin portion in front of Elder's face. "Let's go, alright? Follow the shiny."

Elder's eyes followed the shiny coin quickly and he tried to grab it failingly with his hands. Essently chasing the tail, too drunk to care it was his own.
''Shiny!'' He hissed, dark red eyes twitching to every sound he heard and every shiny object he could see.

Seeing that Elder was more than content to chase his tail made things easier on Sterling. He led the drunken hybrid out of the bar, keeping an eye out for any passersby who might draw too near. At least he had the tail for now, which meant that the more deadly part of Elder was confined. For the moment.
"Let's head to the Guild. Now's the time to update them on my status and those of the others."
"Let's head to the Guild. Now's the time to update them on my status and those of the others."
Elder hiccuped occasionly, stumbling to follow the shiny object stuck on his tail. It wold be awhile before he'd come to his senses.
''Guild has shinies?''
''Guild has shinies?''
"Um, yes? But not to play with or touch." The silver gilded door might be a problem, and after that, the armory. He just hoped no one was sporting the ridiculous broach that his guild gave out occasionally. That would definitely attract Hybrid's interest, and if his tail follows suit, there'd be one less Hunter in the world.
"Behave yourself, okay? Or I'll have to get some chains to keep you grounded."
"Behave yourself, okay? Or I'll have to get some chains to keep you grounded."
Elder looked at Sterling with a deeply confused look, starting to foam at the mouth a bit. Then his eyes focused back on the shiny coin, reflecting in his now solid black eyes.
At least the chains would be shiny? Sterling sighed and shrugged. "Let's go."
He led Hybrid over to the Guild, pulling him quickly past the gilded silver front doors. No time to pause and look at them, the sooner the better.
"Hoy!" he called into the guild, "I've come with updates for the recent demon list."
A couple of groans could be heard as a few Hunters, lingering on the edges to talk and select their next targets, overheard and recognized Silver. "Fantastic. There goes another month's rent."

Elder glanced around as he was led to the guild, figeting his claws. ''No shinies?'' He whined, tail tip twitching and nearly hitting Sterlings face deeply. ''Rent?''
Sterling narrowly dodged the bladed tail, keeping his grip on it and keeping it at arm's distance. "You want shiny? Here." He hands a silver coin over to Hybrid. "Try not to destroy it."
He then stormed over to the Guild's desk--still hauling Hybrid behind him--and began to scribble furiously on a piece of parchment, updating the demons and their locations (or lack thereof) and behaviors.

Elder hissed happily and plays with the coin until he got out of his hands and rolled away. He chased after it with Sterling still holding his tail. Hopefully Sterling had a good grip otherwise Elder ends up dragging him behind.
He did have a good grip; enough of a grip that there was a yelp, and then a clatter as the pen he was using slipped from his grasp and the parchment of paper wafted to the ground where it came to a feathery halt.
"Hybrid! Stop it!" Sterling didn't dare release Hybrid while the creature was still drunk and surrounded by Hunters. It didn't bear thinking about.

Elder jumped and caught the coin on the ground, bladed tail moving back and forth. He hiccuped again, then picked the coin up and showed Sterling. ''I got *hic* it! *hic*'' He exclaimed, ignoring the glares shot for the mess he had made from chasing that shiny coin.
"He's..." he didn't even know what story to concoct. "Whatever, come on." He dragged Hybrid back to the Guild desk, picking up the pen and parchment, and finished his scribbling.
Leading Hybrid out of the Guild, he posted the parchment onto a bulletin board filled with bounties and rewards for various demons, vampires, and werewolves.
Catching sight of one, he tore it free of the board and stuffed it in his pocket. "Let's go, Hybrid."

Elder looks at the board, then at Sterling for a bit then flinched. Back to his senses, he promtly got sick on the ground.
''Agh..I told you I don't drink..'' He groaned, head hurting badly. ''What was on the poster you took?''

Sterling sighed at the mess on the ground and levered Hybrid back to his feet. He used the poster now to clean up the mess, effectively masking whatever had been written on it.
"Just a misnomer," he said, grimacing as he dumped mess into a dumpster nearby. "Didn't want anyone else to see it."
Well, sort of. It had had a description of both Hybrid and Silenia on it; so now he had gotten rid of the evidence.
