''You kill for good reason. I cant.'' He replied grimly. ''I nearly died fighting your worst enemy.''

"Nonsense, you can kill for just as good a reason." He paused. Right, maybe that wasn't the right word to use. "Look, you just need to decompress. Find a place far away from everyone and just rest. That should work, right?"

''Rest where? You saw how other hunters react to me. There is no safe place besides running everywhere!''

"Not true; you could find yourself a nice little secluded place away from everyone. You might have the random Hunter pass through, but that comes with the territory. You may, if you see one, just want to lock yourself in a room somewhere though."

Sterling sighed. Since when did his kind start becoming a menace?

''Well, hunters can find me easily. I wish I could blend in..''

"Well..." Sterling shrugged and winced as his side twinged. "I have no idea what to tell you about that. Unless you can shear off your blades...or find a cure to turn you back."

''But my blades are hard to cut off, unless you have a way to get them trimmed.''

Sterling sighed. "Blacksmith or metal shop might have some way of removing them, but it probably isn't going to be painless. And then there's the tail." He rubbed his head. Why must things be so complicated?

"There's gotta be some way around having to change your appearance."

''I can usually hide my tail against my skin, but the blade is really sharp. Pain hurts, butb only of it's yanking my horns off.''

Sterling sighed. "I really don't think you should change your appearance. You could probably find some sort of job or service to offer, using those blades. You'd make an amazing chef..."

''You saw how everyone looks at me in pure horror. They don't try to see past it, you know. They see me and it's chaos.''

Sterling raised his hands up in surrender. "Hey, if you're set on it, don't let me stop you. I just didn't want to push you into this."

Elder sulks, ears hung. ''Maybe we just need to visitb my son.''

Sterling looked over at Hybrid. "Y-you want to see your son?"

He hasn't stood up yet, but he hears the floor creak beneath the bed.

''Yes, I do..Whats thats creaking sound?'' As Elder stood up nervously and glances around. Unaware the floor was rotted.

"Hybrid, watch out!" Sterling lunged forward just as the floor gave way beneath Hybrid.

Hybrid Elder fell only a short ways, however, as Sterling had grabbed his arm, not letting him fall all the way through the floor.

Unfortunately, it was with the arm on his injured side, and Sterling's face was contorted in pain.

Elder yelped in suprised and latched onto the arm quickly once he fell. He saw Sterlings pained look and grimaced. ''What kind of inn has rotted floors and doesn't tell us?'' He choked, looking down and shuddering before he looked back up in fright. Sterlings hand was only inches away from a sharp blade om Elders arm.

He attempts to hoist himself up.

Sterling looked around for something to give him leverage and finally coiled his boot around the foot of the bed. He grunted as he slowly hoisted Hybrid Elder up to the "proper" floor.

"One that deserves suing, I'd imagine. Or wants to kill us." For that matter, with all the noise they'd made, shouldn't the innkeeper have come by now?

Elder was hefted up and clung to the bed for dear life, trembling.

''Maybe he left?''

"Possibly," Sterling felt his breath hitch as he drew his arm back to his side and looked over at his bed. The gap of broken floor lay between the two beds.

"I think I'm going to sleep downstairs."
