Although I would of course hope there would never be a glitch on the site, it is always possible that during an inbox cleanout a roleplay could be accidentally deleted. Cause I'm dumb. ^^'

I don't work with the forums much so I don't know if they have a print/save option, but is there a way to save a PM conversation/RP? If there isn't I feel that there should be, because if someone forgets to archive it and it gets deleted or, heaven forbid, something happened to the site, a lot of hard work could be lost.

My question+2 cents. ^^

We do not at present have an automatic download option for either PMs or the forums, though I suppose everything is printable -- or even saveable, if you wanted to grab each page.

I don't usually save the RPs I do, but I can see why one would want to if it was really good. I wouldn't be against this feature.

Yes, the reason I brought it up is because I have a roleplay that I have been working on with a friend for over two years now, and we've moved it over three different sites as we figured out where we liked RPing best. However, we couldn't figure out how to back it up from this site as we had on the others. So I thought I'd ask and throw the idea out there. ^^

I'll definitely keep this in mind! :)
I compose and save everything that I write in a basic text editor. Not only does it help to be able to spell check, but I can keep all of my responses. I don't normally keep the responses of the other players unless I get their okay to do so. So, anyway, one way to save your Rps is just good old copy & paste.
I think having an 'export to .doc file' or something would be nice. :'D

Usually, though, if I plan on RPing with someone long term, I switch to platforms like Google Docs or Zoho. The live updating from a partner is always nice to see at times, and even if you do end up deleting messages in your inbox in order to clear it out, what happens if you get a new computer and no longer have those files, or something gets corrupted?

Having the files in an online file viewer/editor is always a good back up plan! :)

This! I understand the need to save old roleplays, though I hadn't considered saving my RPR ones yet. I don't know how difficult it would be to make the code for an option like this, but I do know that old browsers could save websites as an offline file...I don't know how you'd do it with chrome, though. ^^;

Ctrl-S will do it in chrome. It's pretty tricky if you need to do it for a 200 page RP though.

With RPs that long, one of the issues we run into is that dumping all the text onto one page will crash a lot of browsers. We've seen it just with the logs of community discussions, which are long but not 200 pages long. ;) We'd still have to split up the RP across a number of pages for export/printing. It's not impossible, though.

Whoa, it would be so nice if that would be a possible option though~
