Hello and welcome!! I have never LARPed before, but it sounds like a lot of fun. I would think that online RP has a significantly slower pace, but I'm sure you'll adjust just fine. We've got a very welcoming community.

Hi, welcome to RPR. It's a shame that your LARP group was shut down. But I hope that you find a lot of good rp partners here on the site. So, what kind of LARPs do you like? What type of rp genres are you into? Do you like one-on-one rps, rps in groups, or do you do rps of both varieties? Do you do canon characters in canon settings, ocs in canon settings, or ocs in original settings?
There are a variety of ways to get involved with rps on here:
1) Browse the forums looking for rps that you might be interested in joining, though make sure that you ask before you jump in.
2) Check the Looking for RP forums for rp requests that catch your attention.
3) Post your own request on the Looking for RP forums, people usually respond to requests pretty quickly.
4) You can also browse through the characters on the site. If a character catches your attention, you can pm them and ask if they're interested in starting a new rp.
If you have any questions or need any help, there are a lot of different options you have. You can:
1) Browse the Getting Started guide under the help tab.
2) Browse the Troubleshooting guide under the help tab.
3) Browse the Help forum to see if anyone else has had the same issue you have.
4) Post on the Help forum to get your question answered, which generally gets a response within a few hours. Even questions you personally feel silly for asking will be taken seriously and given a proper and polite answer.
5) Last but certainly not least, send a message to anyone on the site asking for help. We're a community and we're all happy to see each other grow and improve.

I highly recommend checking out our New to Roleplay guide (even though you're not). It has some great tips on what is standard on RPR and has some good guidelines that should help you get settled in just fine.
