Hey there! The name's Sharklore. I'm a roleplay enthusiast with an uncanny knack for finding myself with at least one new character per month.
I've been RPing since approximately eleven years old, but I took a bit of a hiatus (think three years) from the scene. After reacquainting myself with some of my old haunts and getting back into roleplaying just this month, I've decided to expand my horizons and join an actual, designated, bonafide RP site. Like this one. So hey!
My favorite RP settings are apocalypse, desertpunk, fantasy third world country, wastelands, grungy/crime-ridden cities, medieval fantasy, and scrap space ships. I feed and thrive off the "underdog overcoming the world" vibe or underlying feelings of conflict. I'm not sure what I'll find here, but I'm excited to start looking!

Ruby is a beagle/jack-russel mix who's about 10 years old now, and Bian is a calico (mostly black) and I'm guessing she's around a year old. I only found her this summer, and she was starved to a point so severe I'm surprised she was walking (she has lasting damage from the starvation). She's a nice, healthy size now and she lives on my back porch. Slowly coaxing my parents into the idea of letting her live in the house.
How about you? Do you have any animal friends?
If by "cannons" you mean original RP plots/ideas and not franchise-based, those are the only types of RP I do. And I can't say I've ever tried homemade soda, but the carbonation makes my eyes tear up. I'm also unable to digest processed sugar.

I bet they are! I just checked out the "find RP" function, and I've gotta say, that's the most ingenious and yet intuitive and simple RP search function I've ever used!

And that sucks about the carbonation. I'm part of the Recipe Guild and am working on a recipe for a black pepper soda using peppercorns, sugar, water, and seltzer.
Welcome to RPR! I have to say I love this topic, it's so interesting getting to know you and your pets! I'm the local crazy cat lady so I'm already fawning over Bian without ever having met her. 
Both of mine are rescues too. The tiny tuxedo kitty was a lease car rescue (she was a stowaway and my friend's family gave her to me, as I was looking for a cat). The chunky white cat found his home with me after his first owner got rid of him cause he was too loud (deaf and got little attention). My friend had taken him in but he kept fighting with the other cat and they didn't go together at all, but he was a loving big brother to my other cat and they're my babies ever since.
Kim is going to LOVE reading that! She's the site owner/admin and created the tool. I agree with you, it's really fantastic.

What else to call someone who proposes a site-wide ban on bear traps? We've never had any bear attacks as far as I'm aware, so it's a compassionate gesture towards bears that, at the same time, shouldn't bring harm to any roleplayers or characters. Kudos!

I'm all into cannons. I'm all into middle-age weaponry in general. Medieval fantasy is one of my favorite genres. So cannons? Aw yeah. Magic cannons? Aw yyyeeeahhhhh!

I'll never know for sure but have some good guesses. Dette (tuxedo) was very feral, and so emaciated her growth had stunted. The vet thought she was only 6-7 weeks when she was in actuality already 9 weeks old. If she hadn't sought a warm place in the car she probably would have died.
As for Minke he would have struggled finding a new home due to his deafness and lack of training. It was a real struggle finding ways to communicate with him. He would have ended up in a shelter for many years probably due to being difficult and loud.
