And it's a bit unnerving...
Good morning! By morning, I of course mean at precisely 3:30 AM, the current time here in the state of earthquakes and drought, California.
Sometimes, people talk about this strange substance called "water," but frankly, I don't know what that is.
Soon, however, I will be moving to Nebraska to become a kernel of corn with the rest of Nebraskan society.
I am currently going to college for veterinary training- and if you have animal/pet related troubles, don't be afraid to get in contact with me. I'll be glad to help in any way I can.
I currently have six pets residing in my house: two little rat dogs named Olive and Amaya, a Great Dane named Benny, two chinchillas named Kyma and Zephyr, and a black roughneck monitor lizard named Toothless.
Benny, however, will be staying behind with my parents after the move.
I am an artist of around 10 years, and will probably spend a lot of time parading around the art forums because those tend to be my home on these kinds of sites.
RP-wise, I've been RPing for a good 8 years now, and it's always been my go-to for stress relief and general fun and enjoyment. I dabble in pretty much everything, from sci-fi to fantasy to modern to some unholy mix. I love creating headworlds and hope to eventually turn one of them into a group here on RPR- however, that will be a ways down the line.
My characters are my children, and I have a LOT of them. So many, in fact, I spent the first few days trying to decide which to put on RPR first. Finally giving up, I decided to come here and be harassed by a pixel alien into saying hello to everyone.
So...hello!

Welcome to RPR Jackal! That introduction was a blast to read, and thank you for sharing so much with us.
I think your lizard is adorable! We have a couple of reptile nuts around here as well other than the crazy cat ladies like myself, so I expect some to drop in and say hi as well.
Is there anything you need help with around the site at this time?

Toothless is adorable!
Do you have any advice for an up and coming artist? I start art classes at my local community college (which I will be receiving an Associates of Art) in late January, and I could use all the help I can get until then.
Also, WELCOME!! We love having you here already!

Hey Jackal, welcome to RPR!
Hello Jackal! I hope you have a fun time here on RPR!
Hello and welcome to RPR! I hope you make lots of friends and enjoy your time here!
Aww, Gamer Girl Alien is harmless. And I'm glad she convinced you to introduce yourself, because this was a great intro to read!
That is a whole lot of animals! Sounds like they are receiving excellent care and lots of love from you, though.
Do you have any questions about the site so far? I know we'd all be happy to help!

A wonderful feeling to wake up to so many hellos, thank you all and a hello to you too! I'm very excited to become part of the community here . No questions at the time, the site is surprisingly simple to get around so far! But if i think of any, I'll be sure to ask.
I don't think I need to express my addiction to Sanne's icon, lmao, because I noticed that's already been done on quite a few threads here. As someone said, "it's oddly therapeutic" and I love it.
fadedsympathy, my only tips are to not flake out on practice, and do what feels natural. I see a lot of artists(new and old) that spend most of their time comparing themselves to others, and end up forming their art style into something that doesn't come natural to them and it often will be a cause for very stiff or "lifeless" art. I did that for a while, and can say with upmost certainty that if you forget about everyone else and find a way that you love, your art will be beautiful in its own unique way- and that's what you want!
Your art style is a very unique and personal thing that, regardless of how well you draw right now, you'll notice a consistency even when you delve into the professional art world. Be it linework, coloring, or down to the basic anatomy, you'll see consistencies- and I think it's super neat! I can pick up an old drawing from when I was 12 and still see the similarities, despite my art being overall so much different now. I recommend keeping everything so you can see how you've improved over the years, as well as find that consistency. I can't give you some professional reason to do it other than I think it's really cool and inspiring to see, haha!
