Normally,the whole zombie genre is boring. Trite. Awful. However,I've been inspired by a couple of flash games,Sonny and Sonny 2,to try and... Play with the genre,for lack of a better word. Here's my pitch.
In the not-so-distant future,under unknown circumstances,a disease sweeps the globe. It is quite unlike anything ever before seen; Those infected rapidly die from their circulatory and respiratory systems simply shutting down,however,more often than not,those killed by the disease rise again,mere hours later. Thanks to popular media,they were rapidly dubbed "Zombies". The disease was highly communicable,borne via water and bodily fluids,though it seemed incapable of jumping the species barrier.
Curiously,the pandemic reached a peak; It seemed that the zombies did not carry the disease themselves; Certainly,those that they bite will catch the disease,no other vectors seemed to exist for a zombie to infect a human,thus causing new cases of the infection to plummet dramatically. However,when the disease passed,humankind was in shambles; Entire cities were lost overnight. Entire nations fell into ruin. And now,thus weakened,the human species was left facing a strange,new enemy.
These zombies were not simple shambling corpses,as the fiction of old had hoped. They were intelligent,thinking beings,capable of tactics,strategy,and using tools. Indeed,they formed their own small communities,or packs,and staked territory. Further study revealed even more shocking information; These zombies can be split into two distinct categories; The feral,animalistic ones,which attempted to kill any that approached which was not part of its pack,and wholly rational zombies,capable of speech,advanced abstract thought,and more.
What's more,now the zombies were evolving; Feral zombies developed incredible physical attributes,and some abilities that defied scientific explanation. Rational zombies followed suit,but their evolutions seemed more... Muted,as if their advanced intellect inhibited the extent of their mutations.
It was clear that humankind needed to act,lest they be drowned by the superhuman dead. Enter,the ZPCI.
Zombie Pest Control,Incorporated. A private corporation made up of zombie survivalists from before the outbreak,they rapidly established themselves an authority on the location and removal of the zombie threat,and offered their services to the city-states of the new world... For a price. The city-states quickly added the ZPCI to their police and military forces,and the ZPCI quickly proved their worth; Zombies were hunted down with great efficiency,wherever the ZPCI operated.
The zombie threat was now well contained; The cities flourished under the protection of the ZPCI,though outlying rural communities were ignored; The ZPCI said it was just too much for them to be able to protect effectively. People in the cities,chaffing under the oppressive regime of the ZPCI,the only true world superpower,began to flee to the countryside,and seek their own solution to the zombie problem. A cure.
Today,society is divided. The ZPCI controls humanity in all but name from the cities and their well-fortified outposts. Humans seeking freedom from the tyranny of the ZPCI fled to the countryside,seeking their own lives and answers. Feral zombies continue to run rampant out in the wild,while rational zombies roam from place to place,pursuing their own agendas.
Should I get the interest I desire (Five-ish dedicated players),this'll launch. The plot will follow a group of individuals as they travel an unnamed boreal region,in pursuit of their own,maybe conflicting,objectives. The idea of the RP is that the players will drive the plot,tugging it towards their own personal subplots,inciting character drama along the way,while also dealing with hostile and not-so-hostile forces in the world around them. I will give you this one for free,however; You will all start in a remote ZPCI outpost,dedicated to capturing live zombie samples. However,there is a curiously large volume of regular human inmates in this facility,as well...

Magic may be accepted as truth but is not common. It might be harnessed only by specific beings. Lord of the Rings, Game of Thrones.
Near future, perhaps cloning and genetic manipulation
Combat is woven into the storyline and could come to the forefront if the characters seek it out.

However,before that happens,I will first have to approve five or so characters; If you don't have a character for this RP,I strongly suggest you address that. Players can either be humans,rational zombies,or ZPCI.

Those weapons would be mighty old by the time the RP rolls around... But they're also classic Russian engineering,so they'd probably still be serviceable,if impossible to replace,either in part or in whole,due to a lack of specimens. Lends her a nice classic air. To clarify; You're using the Vintorez and AS Val? Furthermore,remember that all of your character's default possessions will be confiscated by the ZPCI,and held by Warden Jean DuGalle. The first act of the RP will be getting out of the ZPCI outpost,which includes rearming ourselves.

Heh. All of her weaponry is 'old' by most standards. but yes the Vintorez and AS Val.
Prison escapes are always interesting.
I am quite interested in this, but the only character which would even remotely fit this is Chaylie. Obviously we would ignore a lot of her bio (for example, she would be 26 not 1151, she wouldn't have abilities, and we'd modernize her weapons) but I believe she would work well.
I'm also not picky as to what she is, zombie, human, or ZPCI - whatever is needed!

Right now,the RP really needs either a ZPCI character (Quite low rank; Either a Private,Corporal,or 2nd Lieutenant),or a zombie character that's not being played by the GM. A quick rundown of what really defines the playable "classes",as it were. I'd be happy to work with you to help make any character you have,or decide to create whole-cloth for the occasion,into the RP.
-Human "Civilian": A human "civilian" is unaffiliated with the ZPCI. As such,they lack the funds and equipment of the ZPCI,as well as the superhuman abilities of the zombies. Despite this,humans living outside of the ZPCI's gaze tend to be professional survivors. Normal humans will start imprisoned in Cell Block Echo in the ZPCI outpost.
-ZPCI: A low ranking member of Zombie Pest Control,Incorporated,fresh out of training,and thrown into,ahem,"female dog" duty in this remote outpost where we start. Due to the nature of the affiliation,all ZPCI players (Maximum 2) will be guards at Cell Block Echo in the outpost.
-Zombie: You are the living dead. You lack a pulse,but somehow still produce body heat... Unless you've evolved similarly to Snow. Toxins and the like still effect zombies,though the why of it is still unknown. Zombies universally possess supernatural abilities,simultaneously similar and dissimilar to the X-Men. Zombies universally have unnatural skin pigmentation,and eyes which brightly glow a single colour. All zombie players will start in imprisoned Cell Block Echo of the outpost.

If needed further along in the play (maybe plot furthering - a death to get the ball rolling, or a helpful survivor or anything), I can add a human. I have little trouble manipulating three characters - and even less trouble for two.
