Tebirath slowly opened his eyes. He stood up from the ground carefully and looked around. It was night. He was... In a different place. He was on a meadow.
"What the -" he said, slowly realizing what just happened, "no... Please... Not again..."
His scales reflected the moonlight, together with the golden lightning symbol under his eye. He looked around again. He felt like he was watched by someone, like he wasn 't alone...

Jill muttered as she walked through the thinning trees- Strange, the map told that the forest should be thicker this way.
"I knew I should've brought the compass..." She said under her breath.
This was not the first time she had gotten lost, but this was by far the longest she had ever gone without finding something she could navigate by or at least recognise.

Dusk had come and gone, and now it was night, complete with moon and everything. Jill hoped no predators were particularly hungry, because even though she did have a knife (normally used to cut rope or tangled fishing line) in the holster on her belt, she did not think she would hear them coming, and she certainly was not in the mood to stab something.

She stumbled suddenly, with a loud yell of "Curse these roots!" before regaining her footing and wildly looking around, as if expecting to be jumped by a bear or find evidence for that forest monsters and trolls were real. She chuckled nervously at the notion, for it was silly indeed. Besides, she had just realised that a meadow laid ahead.
Jill turned her gaze back to the map, in her panic she had mistaken the creature in the meadow for a bush or something similar. She was completely absorbed in reading the map, secretly trying to calm her still-rushing heart.

Tebirath saw her, and stood at the spot. She didn 't notice me... Maybe if I pretend to be a bush or something- No, don 't do this again! he thought, because the lighning symbol started to glow. I am dead... He watched her, frozen with fear. His head was telling him to run, but his legs... He couldn 't make a move. He was paralyzed. He hoped that she will not notice him still, but he knew that something like that was impossible.

Jill was treading through the grass, straight towards the dragon. Her eyes were, however, still on the map.

She stopped abruptly when a strange glow appeared in the corner of her eye, and she could feel her dumb heart speed up again. Shh! It can probably smell fear, don't get me killed...

Slowly, painfully slowly, she raised her head towards the source of the glow.
And then- "Aaahhhhhhhhhhh!"

Jill stopped screaming as soon as she had started, instead beginning to cough. Her eyes were still locked on the dragon, whenever she wasn't blinking due to the coughs. Yes, she told herself in her mind, that is a dragon, a real life gigantic lizard of death-
"Wait a-" Cough "Second!"

For what? For it to kill you?

She quickly drowned that though under the flood of questions that entered her mind, because if this was a dragon, it was not that terribly big, was it?
Jill eyed the not-so-gigantic lizard of probable-death with a mix of intense fear and amazed curiosity that rivalled the fear.

Tebirath did a step back, scared. He knew that he had really strong powers. But he didn 't want to hurt or kill, that was his problem. He was... Vulnerable. He didn 't know what to do. Then he got an idea.
"Sorry for scaring you..." he said.
Okay, I will be nice, you will be nice. Right? he thought.

Jill nearly jumped out of her green boots!
The dragon spoke human, english, language, it spoke! And of course Jill could not keep her mouth shut about it.

"Woaaah! You can speak? I mean, I understand you and so..."
She tried to salvage her rude outburst, oh goodness, she did not want to insult the dragon- it was merely surprising.

But for all she knew, the dragons maybe taught the humans english, a long time ago?
It was an interesting thought, and she found herself a bit less afraid.

Jill took a few steps forwards, raising her hands a bit with the palms up, to show that she meant no harm.
She could at least be a good ambassador for human kind.
"Ah, sorry for screaming, I was just a bit shocked, I thought a bear was going to leap from above and eat me!" She joked.

Maybe getting lost wasn't so bad after all.

"Yeah, we can speak... And it is okay if you are suprised. Most people doesn 't know that every dragon can talk..." he said and grinned a little.
When she raised her arms, he nodded. Everything is okay. he thought, she will not hurt me.

"That is... Pretty darn cool! I am sorry if this comes out in the wrong way, but I didn't even know dragons existed. That's why I was a bit scared, I mean, almost all stories have dragons as the bad guys, but you don't seem very mean!"

She smiled back, gesturing with her hands to him and then to herself.

"Oh, and I forgot that I was lost... You wouldn't happen to know the area? Do you live around here?"
She asked hopefully.

"Umm... No. I just came to this world a while ago... And I seriously don 't know where am I. What is the name if this world?" he asked.
I hope I will get useful informations... he thought. He swinged his tail a bit.

Jill blinked a few times.
"World? You mean you have never been on earth before? I mean, are you from a different dimension?"
Her mouth was slightly open, because really, not only was this a dragon, but potentially also an interdimensional traveller.
Then the actual implication of what the scaly green being had said made itself known to her, and she tilted her head thoughtfully as she weighed the possibility.
She settled with that it was worth a shot.

"Are you, by any chance lost too?"

"Yeah. I am from another dimension. And I am lost, too... Sometimes I just hate when this happens," Tebirath said and sighed.
It would be good if I at least knew where I am going... But no, it must be difficult. Like it is easy even without that.
He watched her. His eyes looked wild, like every dragon 's eyes, but they were also filled with kindness.

"How did you get lost? If I may ask of course, I mean I got a map but got lost anyway so it's easy to get lost and- Sorry, I'm rambling..."
She ended the sentence with a yawn, it was night after all, and she had been out nearly all day.

Jill cast a glance at the dragons eyes, she wasn't sure if the coast was completely clear, but he seemed genuinely friendly enough.

Wonder if he likes fishing... Maybe we could fish together some time!
The half coherent thought made the corners of her mouth twitch up. It was a strange image that she would have discarded any other day, but as they say, times change.

"It is a bit complicated, but I think I can explain it in a shorter version. I am one of the guys called the Guardian of Elements, we are... You can call us heroes if you want. And a part of being the Guardian is that you can teleport to other dimensions. The only bad thing is that it happens randomly. And I always fall unconsious because if it... I almost got killed a few times..." he said with a sigh.

Jill quirked an eyebrow.
"Teleportation is cool, random teleportation that almost gets you killed- Really not as cool. I am at least relatively close to home, y'know, in the right dimension and all that!"

She then looked around, as if to spot a magically appeared street sign or portal.
"You got any ideas on how to get home? I mean I could just walk whichever direction and hitch a ride, but for you?"

His pointed ears twitched. He smiled a little.
"Don 't worry about that... I always get back home. I-It just takes some time." he said, moving his folded wings nervously.
He watched her curiously as he spoke. He didn 't get too close to humans normally, it was dangerous. And... He actually never talked with any hipuman. It was a kinda new experience for him.

"If you say so!"

Jill chimed, then her eyes widened and she opened her mouth again, this time with a question:

"Goodness, I forgot to ask! What's your name?"

Smooth Jill, now you probably came off as really aloof in best case, or very very rude...
I hope it is not rude to ask for a name in their realm, that would make for a terrible misunderstanding!

"My name is Tebirath. But, because my name is really hard to pronounce for most of the people, you can call me Tebi if you want. And what is your name?"
He still watched her. She looks even more nervous than I am... Is it because I am a dragon? he thought and sighed. He loved his life as a dragon, he loved flying in the air and doing all the things that dragons normally do. But sometimes he wished to be human...

"Ooh! Nice to meet you Tebi, my name's Jill, it's not even short for Jillian, it's just Jill!"

She quieted down a bit after the exclamation, shifting her weight from one foot to the other.

That was, before the silence got to her, and she began again...

"Did you ever hear the song about Jack and Jill on the hill? Well you see my parents were a bit funny and big fans of that song, so they named me Jill and my brother is Jack- crazy huh?"

He laughed a little.

"That is a bit crazy... And I never heard that song,"he said and shook his head.

I wonder what kind of song that is... he thought. But suddenly, he felt sharp pain coming from the scar across his left eye. His face remained calm. Ow... Not again.

Jill was oblivious to Tebirath's pain, instead beginning to hum the tune of Jack and Jill.

"Hey," She said after a while, pausing mid hum- "Are you hungry?"
