Dead Men tell no tales... At least, that's what most people think. Though Derek wasn't actually dead-dead, he was called a Dead Man, because he was a hemokinetic, he could control blood. Because of this, he eventually became masochistic through his own ways of cutting or burning his flesh for fun, just to surface blood to play with. Enough about back-story, however...
Derek wasn't new to town, at all. La Rochelle, France was his place of birth. He knew three languages fluently so far: German, English, and of course French. He was also learning to speak Draconic, for who knows when he'd need to speak it? He was a well-known criminal. Not purposely, though. He was just misunderstood, and often destroyed things when he defended himself. Such a time was now... Police cars blocked off either side of the road, officers stepping out with all sorts of weapons from pistols to shotguns to tasers. Now, the thing about Derek... He wasn't on any side. Good or evil, he just did what he wanted to. This earned him the alignment Chaotic Neutral due to how he destroyed everything in his path, therefore creating chaos. He dropped do his knees, slipping a blade from his sleeve and putting his hands behind his head. The police looked puzzled for a moment, and quickly ran over to cuff the Dead Man, only to be met with retaliation! Derek had cut his thumb with the small concealed blade, giving ability to use that blood as a weapon. Hornets, he called them, little droplets moving so fast they were like bullets. Once most of the police were down in agony, (none had died) he cut his wrist, and the blood poured out to form long bladed fingers, staying in place. He'd now kill each one of them one by one... Unless someone intervened.

Kuro was on the top of one of the roofs, watching the whole scene unfold. She was as well a wanted crimial for a serial murder in different countries but that was something she was forced. She jumped down from the building and stood inbetween the police men and the guy they were hunting, she had no fears; not even death. "Ils n'ont aucune raison de mourir, et vous n'avez pas le droit de les tuer." She said in a lound and even voice. She knew that this might be the last thing she does but she was willing to save a hundered lives even if it takes away hers. Her arms were streched out on either side; perfectly is to attack and kill.

One of the police men notice who she was by the red streaks in her black hair and a gasp of horror escaped his lips which caused a pain in her heart, more than any bullet could do but she still stood. They spoke quickly in French that she understood.

The Dead Man scowled as his fun was suddenly stopped, the blood from his claws retreating back up his arms and out, around him for a stronger protection. "Vous ne savez pas pourquoi je fais cela. Ils m'ont attaqué en premier et je suis seulement agir dans la défense!" He replied with a frown, and then slowly began walking toward the girl. What he said was true; Misunderstood, feared, the police were looking for trouble when they came after him... And if he offed a few, then maybe they'd lay off some. That was his mentality... Kill a few to scare them... Kill them all if they don't stop.

Kuro didn't move one step as the guy came closer, not even a flinch at what she saw earlier. "Cela ne signifie pas quelque chose beaucoup pour moi. Tuer un seul nuirait plus de personnes que vous connaissez. Je vais mourir si c'est ce qu'il faut!" She repled to the guy, still protecting people who wouldn't stop to kill her either. She never usually did stuff like this unless she felt there was a deeper meaning. She could understand that one death causes more pain than it looks. Kill one person, hurt their family and friends. Kill one monster, save a mans life and a family and other peoples pain.

Derek pursed his lips and stared at Kuro for a long while before shaking his head with a small smile. "Vous êtes une salope, tu sais ça? Bon, je ne vais pas les tuer ... Je ne vais pas tuer à nouveau, que ce soit. Vous avez raison. J'ai mis l'accent sur combien je détestais mes ennemis plutôt que combien de gens que je n'aurais mal. Merde ..." He sighed, before turning around, hopping on top of one of the police cars. "You speak English? I want them to still fear me, so what I'm about to say to you they shouldn't hear." He was staring out at the setting sun, the police completely stupefied, most just lying on the ground staring at the two. The blood droplets from before gathered around the man, seeping into the wound in his hand before the blood hardened and closed the cut.

Kuro nodded. "Yes, I speak English as well. What is it?" She watched the man carefully, alittle surprised that he knew English as well. She spoke Japanese, English, and French. She was not letting her graud down around this guy, no matter what he said, more so not infornt of a bunch of wounded police men. She was a strong will, smart, and cofent woman, even if only seventeen.

"I.. Am not a villain. I don't want to hurt people. In fact, I've killed so many people that I feel utter disgust at myself. I've contemplated on killing myself, but... You see, I can't bring myself to do so.. And the one time I was able to get up the courage by jumping off a building... " He pointed to a nearby apartment building, about seven stories high. "That one... I landed in a crate of fruit as someone went by, rather than hitting the concrete... Hah, maybe i'm just here to suffer... Hell.." He shakily took out a cigarette, lighting it and puffing on it some.

Kuro lowered her arms. "Your not the only one." She looked at the police men and then they all saw who she was and were having a hard time who to be a afaird of more, her or him. "I've been forced to kill more people, in many different countries. I'm marked as a country murder. All the times I didn't want to but if I didn't my brother would die in that persons place. I hated myself for being weak enough to be forced to do that kind of stuff but I had no choice then. Even today I have to kill people for being to stubborn or greedy to give up on hunting me down. I could never kill myself, I'm just too much of a coward to do it." She had moved her gaze down towards the ground were her bangs covered her eyes. Kuro hated herself, and wanted nothing more to end her life but she couldn't.

Derek just huffed. "Well... Why don't we get out of here before the S.W.A.T arrives? They'll be more difficult to deal with." He stood up from the car, hopping up onto a window ledge and slowly climbing up onto the roof of the building before dashing and jumping to the next. No special powers here, he was just a freerunner!

Kuro nodded and jumped up and grabbed a window seal before jumping onto the roof, it was the same she was on earlier before she protected the police men. She followed the guy, not far behind. She heard more noises coming from the where they left the police and it sounded like they left in a good time. French curses let out along with some other words and phrase she didn't catch.

Derek made a few sharp turns, but made sure to let Kuro keep up. Once at his destination, he jumped down from the ledge, and onto the top of a car, which made it cave in on itself. It was a parked car, and, at that, rusted and worn out. It seemed he'd landed on it more than once due to it's dented appearance. He then waited for Kuro to find her own way down and led her to a private flat, unlocking the door and allowing her in. It was a little messy, but otherwise very nice and well-furnished. "Sorry. I don't usually have visitors." He said, closing the door behind them.

Kuro nodded. "It's alright." She wasn't use to hanging arouund other people either, since those who knew what she had done either come after to her or run away in fear like she was a bloodthristy animal. She found it annoying and hurtful. She still had many different attacks across he arms and legs. There was a faint one on the side of her neck by a failed attempt to slit her throat.

Derek took off his coat and gloves, before also removing his slightly bloody shirt. The blood staining it would be seeped away, back into his flesh, and he'd go into the kitchen for a knife. "One of them shot me." He said, working at the wound in his chest. "Bullets must have doubled up and pushed through my defenses... I'll be fine though, I.. Get shot often." He said darkly, letting out quite a wrong-sounding grunt when he wrenched the bullet out. Masochism, due to self-training. He took the blood from the blade and floor before getting some thread and sewing up his wound, making sure it was tight, and coagulating the blood there to keep it closed. Once that was done he came back into the livingroom and sat on the couch. "Can I get you a drink, something to eat?" He asked, trying to be polite. His body, now in view, was exceptionally scarred by both wounds obviously self-inflicted, and wounds otherwise inflicted like bullets or burns. He had a fit build, agile but muscled, due to the freerunning habits.

Kuro shook her head and removed her black overcoat, it was hidding most of her scars, none of which she caused. She healed quicker because of her animal genes, but if a wounf is deep enough or on an area that would kill her then it would cause a scar. She had a slash scar on her right arm that went all the way to the bone which she had no help fixing a cleaning; along with other smaller, faded scars that were beaarly noticed. "I'm fine." She sat down next to him on the coach. "I don't believe I caught your name."

Derek nodded, before standing to pick up a few clothes and brush off tables and whatnot. It wasn't much to clean, and in no time it was spotless. "Well, make yourself at home, I suppose. We'll have to hide for a few days, actually, so if you'd like to stay here I can prepare the guest room. If not, I'll escort you to your home and hopefully not die on the way." He chuckled a bit.

Kuro let out a small laugh. "I usually don't stay in one place, I was kind of surprised I ended up in France." She had though she was still in America but when she heard everyone speaking French, she knew where she was. It was actually a relief for her, since her master was trying to find her in America so it would take longer for him to find out she was in another country. "I guess, I'll take you up on your offer, my master had no clue that I left America so I'm safe from him for a few months, maybe a year."

Derek blinked. "Honestly I was expecting either a slap or a 'no'.. But alright. The guest room is already fixed up with a comfortable bed, closet, and a TV with cable, but if you need anything else just let me know. The bathroom is across the hall and my bedroom is at the very end of the hall. " He sat down again, kicking off his shoes and socks, before turning on the widescreen in front of the couch. "I'll cook dinner in a little bit if you're hungry. Believe it or not i'm a great cook.. After all, I've had to live on my own for so long, and I had to learn to do things on my own."

"I can believe that. I used to live in the woods and lived on what I could catch and cook on a open fire, not too easy to start when it rains." Kuro shrugged. She untied her knee high sneakers and pulled them off, which wasn't so easy. She grabbed her shoes and overcoat. "I'll set these in the guest bedroom." She stood up and took what little items she had to the guest room. She set her sneakers next to the bed and place her black overcoat on top of the bed. She wished she had some other clothes to change into instead of her black short sleeved shirt and blue skinny jeans. It's got to be better than wearing that off-the-shoulder black top that I wore before I left America She though to herself as she noticed her slash scar showing some which she pulled her sleeve down to hide it.

"You need some clothes?" It was like he read her mind.. Then again, he wasn't stupid and probably assumed, since she didn't have a bag. "I've got some clean female clothes that I bought from a few places around the city. I was gonna sell it all for some extra cash, but you can take your pick." He stood up and opened the coat closet, dragging out a blue plastic tub with a top on it and opening it, setting it in front of Kuro.

Kuro shook her head. "It's alright, you already let me stay here, that is enough." She wasn't one to take from others without being able to give back. "You probly need the money, I'll be fine with the clothes I have." The clothes on her back were what she had that counted as windter clothes since she no money from being unable to get a job with the so-called crimes she had done.
