It's been decades since I last saw my allies. If that's what they may be called, I doubt they're still alive at times because of how much time we've all spent apart. We walked our road to the end of the line and we parted ways as soon as we got the job finished. The place we called home was safe, but now a new threat appears and none of them are anywhere to be found, I would challenge the threat alone, but even I am not that strong. I am Vallus, I was once a knight now turned into an Ethereal experiment. I was given a curse where I live for an eternity until a warrior can defeat me in equal combat, I cannot take my own life nor can I be defeated dishonorably. I wandered looking for an opponent to best me but alas, I couldn't. I now look over the land as a guardian, a watcher if you so will and now I need help keeping my, no, our home safe. Will you join?
Magic is rare, but not unheard of. Mundane characters may or may not believe in it. Magical characters may form small and exclusive pockets for study, protection, etc.
Iron age
Combat is woven into the storyline and could come to the forefront if the characters seek it out.
