I just had a small idea in which a bunch of artists come together to collaborate on a scene involving out characters!

I think it would work out as, we are given a prompt. The first artist draws their character in that situation, and then the drawing is passed onto the next artist. That artist will then add in their character acting, and then pass on to the next person, etc.

It seemed like a cute idea to do! Draw piles can last for a long time, too! So it will end up in 20 different characters in their artist's styles. :D
If this seems like a fun game, let me know!

OR,

Another art game idea is the Telephone game.
I've tried doing this game before on another site, and lots of people dropped out, sadly.

Basically, Telephone is a game were a bunch of artists draw one character.
However, the only reference they will receive of that character is what the last person drew.
For example;
Character Owner gives One single full body reference to first artist.
Artist then draws that character. Once finished, they send their finished drawing to the next artist. (They do not send the original character reference.)
Then, that artist draws the character based on the previous artist's drawing. And so on so forth.
The game can end up with the character changing slightly, and that's the whole fun of it! Interpretation of other's artwork!

heck, i'd be up for the drawpile idea, sounds cute! the only issue i can see is the file size becoming a bit scary after a while?

i'm not too sure how i feel about telephone, because the person who supplies the character reference if it's an OC will essentially be getting a ton of character art for free and it might incite jealousy, but if the design is randomly generated it might work!

maybe we could use these?

for humanoid designs - http://klh.karinoyo.com/generate/character/

for animal/creature designs - http://www.generatorland.com/usergenerator.aspx?id=7427

also, i think it might work better if each person adds a small twist to the design when they draw it, so that the variations start to build up faster? eg. red baseball cap becomes blue top hat, long black hair becomes pink spikes

@Rat - that is the one major flaw with the Telephone game, sadly, but I'd totally be down with instead putting in random character generator stuff instead. A lot more fairer, and still very fun. :')

File size might also be an issue, so perhaps a limit of people who can join in on that draw pile needs to be placed? (Maybe like 10 per prompt.)

that might work! it depends on the size of the character though - i wonder if it would be better for the canvas to have a set size, like 2000x1000? that'd mean people with giants or dragons or something won't stretch things out too much.

i really do love the idea of this though, it'll be like the RPR genre jumbles. :D

I like the idea of drawpiles. I've only ever done one before, in 2006 or 2005! I'd love to do one again!

Yeah! That could work too. I like this.
And maybe there could be a voting system to which prompt we do every 2 weeks?
I'm gonna make this thread anyways since it sounds super fun and I'm excited ahhh

(also what's the RPR genre jumbles? o: )

whee! :D

also! the genre jumble is the group picture of characters that you see on the RPR homepage when logged out - it's intended to represent the diversity of genres that have a home here. :D every year there's a contest where new characters are picked for the jumble, you can check out the last one here: http://www.rprepository.com/community/newspost.php?post=270
