Once they got to the fast middle part of the song, Sacha swore he heard Phoenixheart join in from down the hall. He dropped out his left hand, considering he was essentially doubling Chihiro anyway, and took a bite out of the sandwich he'd been holding on his lap. He played quietly for a measure or two, making sure it was indeed the acoustic guitar across the hall he was hearing.
Upon reaching the end of the phrase, Sacha ended the song early with two loud chords, then got up and went back to Phoenixheart to wave her back into the band room. If he was going to have all his friends playing, they were going to be playing in the same acoustic environment, darn it.

Phoenixheart had finished the song that Sacha had given her the sheet music for when she noticed Sacha was waving her down from the band room. It was also then that she had noticed with a bit of a shock that the door to the room that she was practicing in was left open. Shoot! I must have forgotten to close it and was probably playing too loud! she thought to herself as she made her way across the hall to the band room. Once inside, she said "s-sorry, I forgot to close the door to the practice room..."
Chihiro's hunger finally caught up with him towards the end of the score. He took out the apple from his bag and took a bite out of it as he stood up. He had leaned the instrument against its pedestal to follow Sacha when he walked to the open door of the practice room Phoenixheart was in. He waited for her to finish apologizing before reassuring her. "You should play in the band room with us" he punctuated with another bite of his apple, "I was right when I guessed you were good."
Phoenixheart's eyes widened a bit at the compliment from Chihiro and when he suggested she join him and Sacha in the band room. She hadn't ever had anyone listen to her play, so it was a bit of a pleasant thrill to her when Chihiro said she was good. Her look of surprise was still evident on her face when she said "Y-you really think I'm good? And you want me to join you guys? I just kinda wanted to try out the song as it was new and I could use the practice..."
"Of course! and I mean, we might as well all practice together" he urged, "besides, if you're there I won't have to worry about doing the plucking." Chihiro was about to position himself back behind his instrument again when he suddenly remembered something. He rifled through the smallest pocket of his bag and dug up an old guitar pick. It was small and semi-transparent, color fading from orange at the top to teal nearing the bottom. He walked back to the practice room and tossed it at Phoenixheart. "You can have that, it came free with an amplifier I bought a while back but it's a bit too thin to sound any good with a bass" he knew it wouldn't be too useful in this specific piece, but he wasn't so sure about the other songs that Sacha probably had in his binder, "not to mention, it fits the whole color palette you've got going on."
Sacha nodded, agreeing with everything Chihiro was saying. Of course she was good; he'd have taken the guitar away from her by now if she was bad at it. He dragged a chair over near the piano, close enough to be able to read music off the piano from, before sitting back down at the instrument while he waited for the other two to finish their conversation. He idly plunked out the beginning of Moonlight Sonata.
Phoenixheart noticed Sacha nodding in agreement as Chihiro spoke. She honestly didn't think she was really that good of a guitar player, but if the two boys seemed to like it, then she had to admit that she possibly had a bit of skill at least. Either that or they were just trying to be nice to her so they didn't hurt her feelings, though with the short time that she had known both boys, she thought that it was most likely the former. Chihiro seemed like the type of person who would help someone practice if they needed to and Sacha seemed like he would tell the person straight up in his own way that they weren't good. She then saw that Chihiro was now tossing something to her, so she caught it and looked at it, was surprised to see that it was a guitar pick and even more surprised when Chihiro said she could have it. She laughed a bit when he mentioned that it matched the color scheme of her clothing and thanked him for the pick.
Chihiro settled back into his chair and noticed that Sacha had pulled out another chair, presumably for Phoenixheart. He tried to think of another song to play, he'd only recently moved and most of his bigger stuff (including his double bass) were still on the way. Pensively, he strung out the beginning of a song called Winter while waiting to see if Phoenixheart was going to be following them into the room.
After debating with herself for a while whether or not to go into the band room to practice with Sacha and Chihiro, Phoenixheart decided that it would be a good idea to go into the band room to practice. They seemed to enjoy her playing and she also thought that it would be useful to practice with other people. If anything, one of them could hopefully give her pointers on playing if they felt that she needed any, which was a very exciting thought to her. Phoenixheart always liked to try her best improve in places if she needed to and she also liked to try out new challenges, so this was a pleasant thrill to her as she had never practiced with anyone before. She picked up the acoustic guitar, her bag, and the sheet music that she had before walking out of the practice room and into the band room.
Sacha stopped playing and listened to Chihiro. He didn't recognize the song, but he was able to figure out the key it was in fairly easily and started playing some chords along with him. It wasn't exactly the same song, but the bass part and what Sacha was playing still sounded good together. He saw Phoenixheart walk in and waved at her, then pointed at the chair he'd pulled over in hopes that she'd come over and join them.
After a minute or two, Sacha started playing Fur Elise, wondering if Chihiro would catch on and if he knew the bass part.

Phoenixheart saw Sacha wave at her and point to an empty chair that was near the piano, so she quietly made her way over to the chair with her bag, the guitar, and the sheet music, then sat down. She quietly listened as Sacha started to play another song. She closed her eyes as she listened to the music and let it wash over her. She vaguely wondered to herself if she might be able to play some sort of adaptation of the song that Sacha was playing. She did like to try and practice new songs if she could find any.
While he was playing, Chihiro heard Sacha add a few chords to the song with his piano. Although it sounded good with his part, Chihiro figured his friend was improvising because it wasn't exactly the same song. When the song concluded, he looked up to find that Phoenixheart had decided to join them in the band room. After a while, Sacha begun playing Fur Elise and even if Chihiro didn't actually know, it was a pretty common song and he figured he could improvised like Sacha did. While he drew out the first few notes from his bass, he craned his neck to see if Phoenixheart was going to join in as well.
Sacha nodded a little as he heard Chihiro's double bass join in the sound, adjusting his volume so the sound would balance to his ear. He looked over at Phoenixheart, who seemed to be enjoying the music. Wondering if she knew the song or not, he scooted over on the bench a little so she could see where his hands were hitting on the keys.
Phoenixheart watched and listened to Sacha and Chihiro for a bit before she decided to see if she could try and join in. She saw Sacha scoot over on the bench so she could see where his hands were hitting the keys, so she watched them for a bit before starting to join on the guitar. It was a bit shaky at first as she didn't really know the song too well and she was also trying to adapt the chords to guitar, but eventually it blended with the instruments and offset the other instruments fairly well. She smiled shyly as the guitar harmonized with the other instruments.
They played together for a while like that, instruments harmonious with each other. Alas, the bell rang once more and signaled the end of their time in the band room. Chihiro took the bass back to its stand at the back of the room with all the other instruments. He then pulled out a copy of his schedule to check where he had to go next. Oh, he just had art next. That isn't so bad. He stuffed the paper back in his bag and turned to Sacha and Phoenixheart, "I'm heading to the art room in the left wing. How about you guys?"
Phoenixheart jumped a bit when the bell rang. She was so wrapped up in playing that the sound of the bell had startled her a bit. She put the guitar back where she had found it and pulled her own schedule out of her bag to look at it. She groaned and replied"I have math..." Phoenixheart didn't really have a liking for math. She attempted to read books on mathematics that she had in her library, but she had always found them to be fairly boring and uninteresting. She had a feeling that math would probably be her worst subject in school.
Sacha slammed a diminished cord on the piano as the bell rang. He hated being taken away from his pianos. He knew he had science next, but he didn't like science much in its best light, and when it was taking him away from music, well, there was no way he was headed in its direction. He turned around on the bench and looked at the two, awaiting their responses before giving a shrug of indifference as his own. He figured if they were both headed to the same place he'd just follow along, but since they weren't... he supposed there wasn't a band to interrupt his piano playing in the band room next class, anyway.
Phoenixheart debated for a while whether or not she should just skip her next class. While she did like to learn new things, she didn't really feel like having to sit through what would probably be a completely boring and uninteresting class. She also didn't want to be in a class where the other students there would all probably keep staring at her wings. However, she also didn't want to get in trouble if she got caught skipping. She finally decided that it would probably be best if she went to class and at least tried to pay attention, no matter how much she may not like it. She sighed and reluctantly said "Well, guess I should get going to class if I don't wanna be late..."
"Staying here huh?" Chihiro guessed, because Sacha looked miserable and made absolutely no motion to leave. Phoenixheart looked pretty down when she headed out too, he realized. Both of them must have some pretty boring subjects after lunch then. He briefly contemplated just skipping art and just staying in the band room to listen to his friend play, but ultimately decided that there wasn't really much of a point in having a bad reputation among the faculty this early in the school year. He untied his jacket from his waist and slung it over his shoulder just in case he wanted to put it on again later. He passed by Sacha on the way to the door and ruffled the satyr's hair playfully before leaving for class. "Well, see you later then."
Sacha made a quiet growl, shaking his head to get his hair to fall back into its usual ordered mess. He waved at Phoenixheart, then Chihiro, and went back to his piano. He wouldn't be surprised if the whole school staff had already been warned of his "errant" behavior by his parents, so he figured none of them would mind him skipping. After they'd been told about him, they certainly couldn't expect him to come to class on a regular basis, could they? Sacha found it easier for everyone if he simply lived up to expectations, rather than pulling a surprise and gaining some sense of responsibility to his classes he never had before.
He played his new friends out with a funeral march.
