Phoenixheart tilted her head in curiosity as Chihiro took off his jacket. Curiosity soon turned to surprise as she saw two wings unfurl themselves from his back. Knowing that it would be impolite to just keep staring at the wings, she looked away and turned her attention back to the packet, but not before smiling shyly and embarrasedly at Chihiro and quietly saying "thanks" and "cool wings" as the attention of the students shifted between her and Chihiro's wings. She didn't really expect another person in the school to also have wings, so this was a bit of a pleasant surprise to her. She was also grateful that the attention was off of her momentarily, but she didn't like the fact that another student had to reveal their wings in order to get the attention off of her.
Sacha jotted down the answer, happy that it and the question now made sense together. He looked up again to find that Chihiro had removed his jacket to reveal a second pair of wings in the room, which received a murmur of gossip around the room. Sacha stared at them briefly before poking one of his wings and quickly turning back to Phoenixheart. 'I don't have wings,' he signed to her, feeling the need to make that clear now.
Phoenixheart giggled slightly as Sacha signed to her that he didn't have wings and signed back "That's perfectly fine." She was curious as to why he didn't really care that her and Chihiro had wings, but decided against asking as she didn't want to seem rude or suspicious. She was just grateful that there were at least two people in the class who didn't stare at her because of her wings.
Chihiro watched the pair in front of him sign to each other. He brought out his phone and looked up a guide on sign language. An image popped up of the ASL alphabet, which is what they seemed to be using. Even with the guide, their hands still moved too quickly for him to understand everything. Despite his efforts, he was only able to get 'have' and 'wings' from Sacha.
"Wait- you have wings too?" he asked, a bit incredulous at the fact that there would be at least three pairs of wings currently in the same classroom. This earned him a shush from the back of the class. Chihiro hissed out an irritated sorry and showed his seatmates his screen to justify his outburst.

Sacha raised an eyebrow at Chihiro, trying to hide a quiet snicker at all the attention he'd gathered. What was this with him having wings? He looked at the phone offered to him and figured he must have just missed a lot of letters in what he was signing. Sacha shook his head. He turned the phone back towards Chihiro and started to slowly sign out 'Satyr' for him.
Chihiro looked back and forth from his friend to his phone screen. Judging by the how slowly Sacha was signing, Chihiro guessed missed the point of the conversation from earlier. He watched intently as Sacha spelled out the word 's-a-t-y-r' to him. Ah, so no wings then, he thought distantly, a bit embarrassed that he jumped to that conclusion so quickly.
"Okay, so I hope this isn't rude," he teased, although genuinely amazed at this development, "but do you have like... hooves and really strong legs, or just the horns?"

Phoenixheart stifled a laugh as Chihiro showed her his phone screen he must have missed a lot of the conversation she thought to herself. She then watched as Sacha shook his head and signed something out to Chihiro. She realized after a bit that he was signing 'Satyr' to him. Huh, so that might explain why he wasn't too offput by my and Chihiro's wings... he might be a bit used to seeing people who have non-human characteristics. She then tilted her head slightly, and looked at Sacha with a curious expression as she awaited his answer to Chihiro's question. She was also curious if he had any other Satyr-like traits.
Sacha shook his head after a moment's hesitation, knowing it wasn't exactly a yes or no question or answer. 'No hooves,' he spelled in sign. He had his dad to thank for that; he was human, and although his mom wasn't full-blooded, she still had the hooves. Since his two new friends seemed curious, he also stuck his fingers in the corners of his mouth to show off the miniature tusks--more just longer and sharper lower canines--he had that rested in front of his upper teeth, perfect for sticking bugles on.
Phoenixheart watched as Sacha signed that he didn't have hooves. She then tilted her head in curiosity as Sacha stuck his fingers into his mouth to show off what seemed like miniature tusks that rested in front of his upper teeth. She grinned and said "cool" when she saw the tusks. It seemed to her that she had met two very interesting people. She was excited about it as she liked interesting things, so this just made things better. Despite her best efforts to conceal it, a small, happy chirp escaped her lips as she went back to trying to work on the packet.
Chihiro watched as Sacha pulled at the corners of his mouth to reveal a pair of long, pointed canines. "Wow", he said simply, as his eyes widened in surprise. He had finished up his packet and brought out his sketchbook to draw, when Phoenixheart let out a soft chirp. He couldn't help but smile as he began scratching at his notebook with a pencil. Not a bad second day of school, he thought to himself.
Sacha looked over at Phoenixheart when he heard a quiet chirp from her direction, like an animal reacting to a sudden noise. Was that her? He narrowed his eyes at her suspiciously as he placed his binder on the desk and opened it. It was all sheet music, plus a bit of scrap paper, the two drawings he'd gotten from Chihiro and Phoenixheart, and some miscellaneous school supplies. He put the packet in the front pocket, as finished with the lesson as he felt like being, before his attention was grabbed by Chihiro drawing, and he leaned over to see what he was sketching.
Chihiro flipped through the pages of his sketchbook to find the page with the drawing that he wanted to complete. He'd only had it for about a week, but already it was half finished. His notebook was a chaotic mix of various art styled and subjects- characters from a movie he'd just finished watching, flowers he'd seen while taking a walk, exaggerated caricatures of a band he loved, and (of course) dogs. The drawing he was currently working on was one of his more serious ones, a horse reared up on its hind legs, and a knight on its back with his lance at the ready.
Chihiro was adding details to the knight's cape when he realized that Sacha was watching him draw. He moved a bit to make it easier for him; years of drawing in public made him accustomed to the attention.

After finishing her packet, Phoenixheart put it into her bag and pulled out her notebook that she liked to write and draw in. The notebook was filled with drawings of animals that she had seen in her forest and random poems and short stories written in her handwriting. It also contained a few inspirational quotes that she had gotten from the many books that she had read. Currently, she was working a quote from Alice in Wonderland with a picture to go with it. The quote was "It’s no use going back to yesterday, because I was a different person then." and the picture was of a younger version of herself with her hair in pigtails and an orange dress with a curious expression on her face. All that was needed was for the picture to be colored, so Phoenixheart got out a pack of colored pencils from her bag and started to color the picture.
Sacha quietly watched the two draw. What a bunch of artists. He took the M&M bag back from Chihiro and poured a few in his hand to snack on, half wishing he hadn't lost three quarters of his breakfast being scared of Adriana. At least lunch was next, wasn't it? He wondered if it would be okay for him to take his lunch to the band room so he could play the piano, and he narrowed his eyes at Chihiro as he thought.
Phoenixheart hummed softly as she colored. It wasn't an easily identifiable tune as she was mostly humming it to herself and it could only just barely be heard if someone was listening. The tune she was humming was from a song that she had heard a few days before called "Just Like Fire". She ended up really liking the song and the picture she was drawing reminded her of the song. She noticed Sacha narrow his eyes in thought at Chihiro and she wondered why, but she decided not to ask and continued coloring and humming.

It didn't take long for Chihiro to get bored with his drawing. He shut his sketchbook and tossed his pencil on top of it, resigned to just fiddle with his knead eraser. The bag of M&Ms suddenly dissolved from his desk and he looked up to see Sacha narrowing his eyes at him. Suddenly a feeling a bit self-conscious, he ran a hand through his hair. "Do I... have something on my face?"
Sacha shook his head and carefully set the bag of M&Ms back now that he'd stashed a few in his hand. He looked away without giving Chihiro an answer, taking out his pencil and writing 'Do you play the piano?' on the corner of Phoenixheart's notebook. Of course, En Blanc et Noir was only a two piano piece, and piano 2 was already taken, but it was always nice to know exactly who did and didn't play piano in any given location he frequented.
Did I even remember to bring lunch today? Chihiro thought as he realized he hadn't even eaten the apple that he packed for breakfast. Although a bit distracted, he watched Sacha write the question down onto Phoenix's journal. Assuming the question was meant for the owner of the journal, Chihiro busied himself with whistling to the song that Phoenixheart was humming. He usually didn't listen to this artist's music, but the song was all over the radio station he frequented and he had to admit it was pretty catchy.
Phoenixheart saw that Sacha had written something on the corner of her notebook. She paused in her coloring to read what he had written and write back 'No, sorry... I do play a bit of acoustic guitar though' She wasn't very good at it, but she did enjoy practicing with the guitar that she had found in her library. She then turned her attention back to the picture and continued to color it. As she was coloring, she heard Chihiro whistling the song that she was humming. He must of heard me humming She thought to herself, a small, embarrassed smile on her face.
Sacha frowned. Oh well, it wouldn't have worked out anyway, considering the band room only had two pianos as far as he knew. He looked at the clock and, seeing that it was almost time to go, began packing up the rest of his things. The bell rang just as Sacha was standing up and pushing in his chair. Instead of darting off again, he waited and looked at Phoenixheart and Chihiro.
