Fall was a few days from ending and winter was edging closer every day. Frost covered the dead leaves on the ground. Raven's paws were soaking wet and ice cold after chasing the rabbit but she had to give it up as it dissappeared down its burrow. Sniffing around, she froze as she caught the scent of humans and gun powder.
Pinning her ears to her head, she growled lowly as she noticed it was a hunter. Then she took off again, feeling the bite of winter.

Jonathan followed Ravens scent in wolf form untill he found her

Raven was sniffing at the edge of a tree then rubbing against it as she walked past.

Jonathan saw Raven. He sneaked behind her and tackled her

Raven yelped in surprise and went down with him head over paws. Then she grinned happily as she realized it was Jonathan. Then she licked his cheek happily and rubbed her head aginst his.

Jonathan licked her face and barked happily "am I that ugly that you run away?" he said jokingly

Raven looked at him in surprise then realized he was joking. "Nah i just wanted a run before winter hit," she said and licked his nose lightly.

Jonathan waged his tail "then you should have woken me"

Raven smiled and flicked her ears happily. "You looked tired though so i wanted to let you sle-" she was cut off as a gun shot went off and the edge of the tree behind them was chipped. Raven let out a whimper and closed her eyes, noth thinking straight.

Jonathan graved Raven by the back of the neck and tree her on his back. He ran hoping she could hold on to him

Raven bit down on the back of his neck to hold on but she wouldnt hurt him. Scrambling her hind paws to stay on though. A bullet pierced the tip of her left ear and she bit down harder on the back og his neck in order not to let go with a whimper. Pinning her ears to her head, she squeezed her eyes shut as bullets whizzed by just barely missing them both. Finally the bullets stopped and all noises stopped as well.

Jonathan growled "I will kill them!" he hid under some tree roots and put Raven down

Raven didnt let go of his neck and was shivering in fear.

Jonathan layed down and stayed besides Raven

Raven slowly, as time went by, let go of his neck, but she stayed pressed against him hard.

Jonathan licked her neck and wined

Raven pawed at her left ear and whimpered at the nick on the top of her ear.

Jonathan licked her ear and turned human. He started healing her ear "I'll kill them"

Raven glanced up at him and whimpered softly, flicking her right ear as she heard leaves crunching and a bird alarm call went up.

Jonathan growled and went outside hiding in a bush in wolf form
