Hello!

Nice to meet you, I'm sure. My name's Yersinia, but you can shorten that to whatever's easiest. I've been roleplaying for seven years now. My main site was closed recently, so I've been a forum-hopping internet drifter since then...I'm not that great at talking to people and throwing down my roots, heh.

Random facts about me:
  • I'm a history and sociology undergrad
  • I collect animal bones and dead insects
  • I live in Canada and can muddle my way through the French language as a result
  • I play D&D sometimes
  • I love music and make it my mission to find the weirdest possible genres
  • Some of my favourite things include: Halloween, plague doctors, snow, abandoned railroads, forests, vaguely unsettling Renaissance paintings

So...yeah. Hope to see you all around.
I'm glad you found an RP site you can write in then! Hello and welcome, from one newbie to another!

Snakefeast -- Wither (i think they call themselves blackened progressive sludge jazz). Also check Flametal's first album (flamenco metal)

Hey Yersinia, welcome to RPR! :)

Thank you, everyone!

@Heimdall- those are definitely two of the stranger genres someone has showed me, lmao. I like 'em.
(Also, thank you for the horrendous Renaissance babies)
Welcome to RPR.

I'd imagine your interests could lend themselves to some intriguing roleplay ideas. :)

Welcome! I really love your plague mask icon and your fascinating list of interests. I used to collect and pin insects as a child, it was fascinating!

How are you enjoying the site so far? Do you have any questions we can help you with? :)

Thanks! My icon is the plague doctor from Darkest Dungeon, which I used to play (although not very well, lmao). And ah, that's cool! Do you have a favourite insect type? Sorry if that's an odd question.

The site's great so far. Everyone's been nice and it's just different enough from what I'm used to to get me really interested. If I have any questions, I'll be sure to ask.

I am stoked to hear that!

And I'm not sure. I was always incredibly partial to bumble bees, but beetles are pretty amazing as well. Some days I like spiders, even though they're arachnids. What about you, what's your favorite kind of insect? :)

Yes to all of those! Bees are super important. I also really like praying mantises, moths, and lacewings. Parasitic wasps are cool, too (I have a big black one with iridescent purple/blue wings).

Hello, fellow Canadian! I'm new here, too, after looking around for roleplay hotspots.
Weird genres of music sounds interesting. What sort of 'weird genres' of music have you come across?
Welcome!

Welcome to RPR! If you love D&D you'll find plenty of people to play here!

I hope you'll have a wonderful time!

Icelandic folk music, viking music, Swedish post-rock, walking-down-a-dusty-post-apocalyptic-road country, melodic death metal, and electro swing are some of my favourite kinds, although earlier in this thread someone mentioned flamenco metal and blackened progressive sludge jazz. I also found a metal band where the lead singer is a parrot. It's called Hatebeak.

I do have some shed snakeskins and press flowers (to frame with the insects), but I never thought of collecting spore prints from fungi before! That sounds cool. What's the process like?
Welcome to RPR! :) I hope you're making lots of new friends and decide to stick around!
I saw plague doctors and snow so I came here :V
Jokes aside, welcome to the site i guess? I'm new as well, so I thought i'd be good to stuck to the other newbies :'D (JkJk)
Well hello there...
