Hello everyone.

My name is Atman. I am a composer and am currently getting my degree in Music Theory and Composition. I am aspiring to compose music for video games.

I've been to a lot of roleplay forums now, but none of them seemed to really be right for me (or good, in some cases).

I didn't really wanna bother trying again, but my best friend TinyCentaur has been mentioning to me how great this site and it's community is. So I figured, well, I guess I could give it a shot.

My favorite kinds of rps are adventure, fantasy (of any kind), and horror. My least favorites are romance (I can rp romance, but it can't be the main focus of the rp) and fan-based (I have to play in an original world; it feels weird to me to try and insert a character into a canon world like from an anime or a video game, or yet worse to try to control a canon character.)

I have been rping for a very long time, but I haven't been solidly a part of any big community since 2013/14, which is very depressing for me to think about actually.

I hope that things work out better for me in this community than it has in others, and I hope that I can become friends with some of you!

Welcome to the site! Hope you like it here. Videogame music is important and awesome. Do you have favourite soundtracks from any particular game? I'm partial to the Bloodborne OST myself.

Also, it sounds like we have similar taste in roleplays, so if you're on the lookout sometime feel free to drop me a line.

I know what you mean, it can be depressing to lose touch with something you once loved. But playing with people you really connect with is incredibly important; I don't personally think it's worth it to slog through trying to play with people you don't get along with.

I hope you have a wonderful time here. TinyCentaur has been a fabulous part of our community, and if you get along with her, I suspect you'll get along with the rest of us!

What style(s) of RP are you most hoping to find? I mean like freeform or dice-based system or some blend of the two?

Pretty much most Final Fantasy games, altho the music of Final Fantasy VI and the XIII trilogy is particularly special to me. Outside of that franchise, definitely the soundtracks of Pokemon Mystery Dungeon 2, Bastion, and Persona 4.

Yeah, my main problem with other sites is that either it was difficult getting people to start rps at all or I just ended up meeting up with rude people that turned me off to the whole site in general.

She'll probably be giddy to know you think that of her.

I am mostly looking for freeform stuff, but I can do and have a good amount of experience with dice-based systems. I do a once weekly online tabletop rpg with some friends, but we haven't met the past couple weeks because of the holidays. Sucks. ;u;

A composer? That sounds exciting. Have you composed anything of your own based on roleplay experiences?
I ask because I find my own art flourishes more with RP and I think it'd be really awesome to be able to create music!

Nnnnnn... I have a funny answer to that question.

I had this guy's story brewing in my head for a long time before I started rping with him, and because finding video game projects that a) don't fall through, b) are in the magical period where the developers don't yet have a composer but are actually looking for one, and c) aren't SO popular that they already have fifty million people applying is nigh impossible, I bought rpgmaker and started trying to make a game myself.

But, you know, it's really really hard. ;u;

I've learned quite a bit with rpgmaker, but I can't do it alone. I haven't fully given up, but I don't have enough good contacts to put together a team of any kind. So I'll just focus on my degree and save it for another day. Since I had a character and a world here that I wasn't using, though, I started using him in rps with TinyCentaur, and now he's almost one of my regulars with her.

It would be the main theme of the game which would have been called One Hundred. And I do fully consider it Hektor's theme.

Freeform is definitely the default here, although there are some dice-based groups dotting our landscapes.

I love Final Fantasy music as well, have hundreds of tracks from different games on my iPod. Welcome to RPR! I hope you'll like it here. I've been to a number of different RP sites too yet the community here is what keeps drawing me back in like a black hole. Gravitational pull I couldn't escape if I wanted to .

Heeeeeeey~ welcome to RPR! glad you joined and i hope you have fun!!! its cool you are a composer and even more cool (to me at least) that you take interest in video game music...i feel your pain about needing an original world and not forcing characters into a world that already exists i completely agree that it feels wrong to control a character that is not yours (cannon) also i would absolutely love to Rp with you if you ever have the time of feel bored i'm always open to a new Rp~
