Anybody got some ghost stories to share! Whether they're personal, happened to to a friend or legends in your area - I'd love to hear them!
I'll start us off
I'll start off saying I didn't witness this first hand - a coworker did. I used to work in an English language school in Japan. There was one girl, who at the time was 15 or 16 years old, and had a studious and bubbly personality. However, one day she came in crying. My coworker was really startled and tried to comfort her, but couldn't seem to help. Then suddenly, the door opened and closed. The door to the classroom was really heavy and opened outwards to the road - so it was impossible for the wind to have blown it open. Then the girl began to calm down and told the teacher "It's okay, the ghost left."
My coworker took it very seriously and started putting bowls of salt around the classroom.
So do you have any to share!

Oooh, this is a good subject. Here we go then;
This is a ghost that I've seen personally. In my own home.
I'll explain a bit about where I live, though. The house I live in used to be home to a forge, which some of it's remains (part of the wall) still exists at the back of my garden. And also, there is a nature reserve fairly nearby my house too, which also once belonged to an Edwardian woman. I won't disclose her full name for reasons because she used to live literally a few minutes walk away from my house, but I will say her name was Ellen. Ellen, I believe, is the ghost I saw.
You can still see the remains of Ellen's old home around the reserve, and actually, it is a really nice walk. You get to know about a little piece of the past, as well as walk around the now wild gardens, which are super duper pretty. But that's not the point.
I've only been living in this house for a about a year and a bit now. I've visited the nature reserve quite a few times as it is my favourite place to unwind and take a break. Though, last year, I think in February, something very peculiar happened while I was home alone one day. I was in my bedroom, doing some college work, and I had my door open. Out of the corner of my eye, I thought I saw something move in the hallway, which I had clear sight of where I was sitting in my room. I was a little stumped, thinking it might have been one of my dogs. Yet, something was off for me. The thing that passed my room was... fairly tall, and a blue-ish white colour, and I think what I saw was a the bottom of her dress.
If this was a horror movie, my next move would of surely killed me, but I decided to go and investigate outside the hallway, because now I was just paranoid. Next to my room, was my parent's room, and the room I saw the figure go into, and so, I opened the door...
The first place I looked was at the floor, nearby a window (from memory anyways), and all I could see was the bottom of her dress, definitely blue and white in colour, and very old fashioned. From that point on, even though I had merely caught a glimpse, I shut the door. Nuh uh. Ain't bothering with the ghosts. I was sure it was a ghost. Even when I was brave enough to go back into that room (when my mum was home of course lmao), I did not see anything blue or white near that window. So I'm sold it was definitely a ghost, possibly even Ellen herself. Or, it could of been the old forge owner's wife, but then here's another shorter story that might confirm it is indeed Ellen.
This story happened not very long ago. Last year in December. I was out with family after a passing in my family, so we headed to our local pub, which to note is very close to the nature reserve. While we were sitting and chatting, having our drinks, there was a sudden loud crashing of a glass. When we turned to look, no one was near the now smashed pint glass, yet my mum was the one that saw what happened. The bartender said she was nowhere near the glass, and my mum confirmed it. It had literally fallen off the shelf, even though it was quite tucked in at the back. Spooky huh?
TLDR; I am super convinced my home is haunted by an Edwardian ghost who used to live in my area.
