Zuma lays on an unpadded bed in a dark room, in the same coma that he had been in for a year. He remained very still, shallow breathing through a respirator. Scientists in white lab coats were running about destroying armfuls of papers but did not bother to check on him. Suddenly, his eyes fly open and he pants heavily. His eyes, once brown but now bright blue, scan the poorly lit room as he takes in a year's worth of information...

A confused Zuma walks over a large gas station. There were only two cars there since a majority of cars were either hydrogen fuel cell or electric cars. His bodysuit that he wore at the lab was replaced by his favorite outfit, a traditional Mexican outfit with two blue feathers in his ear and two stripes of face paint on eh'll each cheek. Zuma couldn't quite remember why he enjoyed this look, but he did very much. He walks into the convenience store and stares at the different snacks, only recognizing a few from 3 years ago. His strange look started to attract attention ...

Ilona made it to the gas station about 10 minutes after Zuma did, and went in. She had pure white hair that went down to her shoulders, and bright blue eyes. She was wearing a Japanese style outfit as she quietly scanned her surroundings as if looking for someone.

Zuma picks out a bag of Doritos and walks up to the register, placing a few American dollars as well as a few Mexican pesos. The cashier rolls her eyes and picks out the American currency as Zuma looks around. He sees the strange girl and freezes as he recognizes the face. He wanders off to her as the cashier tries to give him his change. He speaks to the girl in fluent Nahuatl, "<You...You are from the experiment lab, yes? Project Zuma?>"

Ilona silently looked over at a boy that approached her and began speaking. She also recognized him and understood what he said, though she only responded with a nod. She hadn't ever really been one to speak much, and know was no exception.

Zuma nods, first relieved and then confused. "<How did you escape? I went through the offices while they were busy.>" He was so glad that he wasn't alone and that others evaded whatever the scientists were trying to do.

Ilona was silent as she reached into a small bag she had and pulled out a paper and pen, before writing on it in Nahuatl. "Someone came into my room for a minute before running, leaving the door unlocked. I followed shortly after and almost no one was there." She wrote before showing it to him.

Zuma reads the writing and nods, comprehending. He looks at the girl curiously, having so many questions. "<What powers were you given? Why can't you speak? What's your name?>"

Ilona quietly listened to him before moving to a different part of the paper and writing. "I can change the length of my hair, and manipulate light. It hurts to talk. My name is Ilona. she wrote before showing him.
