A giant venus flytrap snaps at Sterlings face.

The knife in his hand came in handy. And he swiped at the stem of the venus fly trap as it came close to taking a bite out of his face.

A slight yelp of surprise escaped him too.

''Chu chared of a chant?'' Kori giggled as the venus flytrap fell to the ground with a soft thud.

Sterling wiped the blade and kept it in hand. "If it had been a werewolf, we'd've been in trouble." He set off towards the town again, one eye out for venus fly traps.

He stumbled into an old greenhouse, where numerous herbs and plants were growing freely but to scary heights. There was a patch where blue flowers called 'Wolfs breath' grew, a bitter flower that reeked of death. Then a patch of 'Dragonfur' that was as soft as silk.

He tromped haphazardly through the plants before the reeking scent of death caught up to him. The humidity also was beginning to make him sweat, and that coupled with his long trench coat was making for a distinctly unpleasant walk.

"Ugh, what is that smell?" His eyes landed on the Wolf's Breath and he grimaced. At least it wasn't a venus fly trap tying to eat him.

The pale blue flower was common upon these lands, used to attract werewolves. It was taller than Sterling, and grew as a huge bush from the wet and murky ground that used to be stone. Kor followed with ease, avoiding the venus flytraps. ''Chis is an chold cheerrenhouse. It's chirrso chot chere..''

"I feel like walking werewolf bait," Sterling complained, giving as a wide a berth to the Wolf's Breath as possible, without running into the venus fly traps.

"How big is this place? And who started it?"

''Chi think chome chamily chanted cho chunt Werewirrvles but ended chup getting bit and changed.''

Sterling looked around. "I could see that happening. They live in the middle of nowhere. If you want to hunt werewolves properly, you don't need to live where they change. That's dangerous."

''Cho chow the chamily lives in the chouse chey ceere chicked out of as cherewolves that hunger for flesh!''

He paused to look at Kori. The english was getting better, if by a little. "They were kicked out?" he clarified, "for being thought of as werewolves? Or they were turned into werewolves?"

He frowned. If the family still existed, and they knew the lay of the land, that would be troublesome for the Hunters. Plus, it was starting to get late.

''They CHAR chirrrwolves!''

He winced. "Okay, okay, I got it. Keep your voice down." He hurried through the rest of the greenhouse.

"We need to go find the Hunters. Now. Preferably before the werewolves discover our scent."

Kori ran after him as they approacheed the end of the greenhouse. Kori then stopped, and sniffed the air, growling slightly. ''Chirwolf. Chere chomewhere.''

Sterling dropped to one knee at the word "Chirrwolf" and readied his crossbow. He was not going to be caught unaware. The good news was that the scent of the Wolf's Breath probably covered his own human scent. He could hope.

"Do you know where it is?" he asked softly.

''Chirrmwhere around che choor. Chi can chirrel it.''

Sterling made a face. Quietly he said: "If it's just one, we can do this one of two ways. Wait for it to leave, or...I can lure it out and hope you can take it out. Or vice versa." Well three ways if he wanted to try sneaking up on it.

He wasn't sure he could move unseen through the plants, however. And that was assuming he didn't happen across any aggressive vegetation in the process.

''Chere chould be a cholfsbane chomewhere chlose by. Cholfsbane chan hutr chirrwolves and challow us to chill it chif we chirrf to.''

Sterling looked around for the Wolfs Bane. Actually, truth be told, he'd been keeping an eye out for it the moment he'd stepped foot into the greenhouse. But a werewolf's greenhouse probably wouldn't have any.

Or if it did, it would be tucked out of the way of the other plants. A familiar bud and leaf caught his eye, on the other side of the greenhouse. Wolfs bane! But he'd have to cross the path to get it, and open himself up for attack. Then again, if he could reach it in time...

He didn't think. He sprinted forward, keeping the crossbow pinned to his chest as he dashed for the one plant that just might save his life; or get him killed.
