Kori chirped and flew after him, avoiding the vines an snapping flower as they too headed to the wolfsbane plant. The floor sagged deeply to reveal that the place was half-sunk. Naturally, for wolfs bane only grew in areas where water was abundant. The family had planted it before they got bit, and hadn't got around to ever killing it off so it had grown wildly.

The water was cold and nasty, and full of..Leeches.

Splash, splash, splash. He wasn't going to think about what was in the water, organism or bacteria wise. He was focusing solely on the wolfs bane and of not getting caught by the werewolf.

He found the wild, rambunctious plant and turned to find the werewolf...

He sees the Were close by the plant, snoring loudly and twitching. But it heard him and flinched, opening it's eyes with a hiss as Kori landed with a splash and caused it to look at them.

Sterling snagged two large handfuls of the plant. "I got it, Kori, go!"

He turned to move out of the water, feeling it flood down his boots, and liberally coat his pants and jacket. He was still not thinking about it.

"Go, go, go," he said, sloshing through the water, trying to return to semi-dry ground so they could leave via the door.

The Werewolf lunges and Kori is pinned under the water. They hiss and flail, kicking wildly before getting bit in the leg. They chirp loudly in pain and flung the Were woff with a free foot and chased after Sterling, bleeding badly.

Another oath escapes Sterling's mouth as he reverses course to run toward Kori and the werewolf. He'd had enough of running away, and this wolf had already gotten more than Sterling wanted him to get.

"I'm gonna kill you," Sterling roared, throwing a handful of the wolfsbane at the werewolf and then bringing his crossbow up to shoot.

The wolfsbane hits and the Were yowled in pain before charging at Sterling, barking.

His hands full of Wolfsbane, he fumbled for the crossbow and yelped as his fingers refused to latch on. Something slimy was in the way!

And then there werewolf was bearing down on him so suddenly that he couldn't possibly run in time... So he threw his second handful of Wolfsbane at the werewolf's face, as it bore down on him and ducked to the side--grabbing the slimy thing--he wasn't going to look at it--and hurling it into the water with a sploosh--before raising the crossbow with the intent of shooting to kill.

The plant burns the Weres face as it yowls in pain and staggers back, a leech crawling up it's back as it then lunged at Sterling..Or wold have if Kori hadn't flew up and grabbed it by its head. Their talons sunk into the werees eyes and it howled in pure pain.

"Thanks!" Sterling yelled, running clear of the werewolf's claws. "I'm clear, hurry up!" He was at the back door of the greenhouse now, holding it open for Kori.

Kori darts to the door with a limp, and exits.

Sterling shuts the door as soon as Kori is clear, and wedges a good-sized branch under the door to keep it shut. He then turns to grab Kori's arm and sling it over his shoulder to aid him in moving faster.

"Let's go, we can't afford to linger."

''It bit Chirre!'' They yelped, cringing. They weren't too heavy, around 190lbs for being a crossbreed.

"Yes, yes, we'll get that sorted out as soon as we can guarantee that the both of us won't end up as Were food."

He wouldn't stop until they were just inside the town, where he might have a chance of not running into a werewolf and a slightly better chance of running into a hunter.

Eventually he arrived in town with Kori passed out. The rude hunters from earlier shouted his nickname loudly.

He shot them glares, unable to muster the energy it would take to shout back at them. At least they recognized him, that was something to be grateful for.

He set Kori down, wincing as the unconscious half-breed flopped down a mite harder than Sterling had hoped. And he quickly located the bite. He grabbed the tube of anti-werewolf paste and applied it as per usual, waiting for it to take effect.

Kori is stirred awake by the shooting pain, and chirps loudly as a result, dazed. ''Chirrp!'' They shoutedm cringing.

Sterling grimaced. "Sorry, Kori." But the bite was healed and gone and the worst was over.

"How do you feel? You passed out on me earlier."

Kori cringed, and staggered up weakly. They fell back down with a thud, wincing, the toes broken from stabbing the Were. ''It churrts..'' They whined, rolling and looking up at Sterling, wings folded tightly on arms. ''Chere char che?''

Sterling sighed. "We're back in town, after encountering the Were I wasn't about to stop for a moment. We're safe...for the time being. What happened to your feet?"

He bent down to look closer at Kori's feet.
