Sometimes if you post something by accident, or in the wrong forum, it can be really embarrassing. You should give the option to remove the forum after you post it. It would save people a ton of stress. Also, if you play as the wrong character in a PM roleplay say, you have an anonymous character you'd like to keep anonymous, and you accidentally play as yourself, you should be able to change the character, (hopefully) before its too late.
You know you can just ask a mod to delete the topic for you. As for the character thing, I don't know if that is possible.

Then couldn't you just remove all content from the title and post? I'm not saying this is a bad idea, I would just rather Kim put her effort on other things when there is a rather simple way to handle that.

Yep! You can change character by editing your post. Just pick a new name from the dropdown box.
As for PMs... I've made that mistake many times
The reason we can't delete our own topics and posts is to prevent a lot of stress in the community. A lot of people save topics to their bookmarks to find their own posts later (for example in a roleplay). If the topic creator just went ahead and deleted it, the other people who participated would lose all their work as well. It also presents huge issues with moderating when people break rules - when a person harasses someone else, the person being harassed can get upset and delete the whole thread before a moderator can take action, which means the harasser gets away with breaking a very important rule.
Generally speaking there's no urgent need to delete a topic wherein you can't just edit the post and remove the contents, then report the post to the mods and request it being deleted. You don't get in trouble for accidentally posting in the wrong place. If someone posts something in your threads that urgently needs attention and can't wait, and no moderator is available, you can always look at all the ways to get in touch with Kim.
