Peace had fallen upon the land after a brief break out of rebellious actions of angered fire bending citizens. The burnt ships still smoldered near the docks, but the smoke hardly cleared the large, rustic mountain that shielded the port town. Though word may have spread to the smaller earth and water bending villages . The fertile soil of the Vintalve Square, during this time of near famine, has placed many different struggling communties close to each other. Except for the air benders, as they hardly settle within the land, but do come inside the Square to trade.

The mountain had a peculiar hole in it today, like a cavern, deeply carved into the the rock, about half way up. It was not there yesterday, thought the farmer of one of the small water bending villages. He could not help but to rub his stubbly chin, sitting on a rock, lettting his crops grow in the moist soil. Something strange was afoot.

Liana was walking along the trail on the mountain. There was a cliff near the waterfall where she liked to go to practice her bending. It was on her trip to that spot that she found the strange hole. Curious of it, Liana walked towards it with little hesitation. She was a very curious being, so naturally when something came up, she wanted to find out about it.

This hole had not been there before. She knew that for certain, as she would travel this path multiple times a week. Was an earthbender causing some trouble?

The cave's entrance was surrounded by the usual folliage of shrubs and grass. But the ground was packed down and not the softer, undisturbed scenery. The cave looked fairly normal. It had the same rustic and darkened dirt, rocks, stalagmites and stalagtites. What might come to the viewer as a surprise, the cave was dry and the ground nearest the cave's entrance had the same patterns as the mountainside.

Stepping inside was another odd occurance. The ground was actually a cloth and if it was held up, it could likely block any attempt to discern the hole in the mountain. And further in, remains of a fire and a figure that balanced his squating form on his legs.

As she explored further, she grew more and more curious. It seemed like the cave had been there forever, but she knew for a fact that it hadn't been. How did that work? She stepped inside, finding the ground beneath her was...cloth. She crouched down and lifted it, looking at it in her fingers. Well, that might explain things. How long had this been like this?

That was when she spotted the remnants of a fire, and a figure nearby. She straightened and walked further in. "Hello? Who's there?" Whoever it was had to be behind the appearance of the cave.

A male of roughly 6 feet of height was perched upon the ground. His skin was a dark chocolate color, his hair messy, medium-length, and black. A cream/tan dasdar wove around the man's neck and hung down, over the upper part of his chest. Beneath the dasdar, a chest plate of gold, with a crude drawing of a rat with angelic wings, the small rodent's eyes upwards and folding its hands in prayer. Around his waist: an assortment of cloths in varying shades of tan and a small bag tied shut. On the ground, below the man, there lay a blade that was of an Eastern make, but it lacked a hilt and was obviously dangerous to pick up. What was left of the fire shed light on the man's bronze gauntlets and the leather straps wrapped around his feet.

Looking up, the man slowly smiles, his teeth brightened by his darkened skin. When he spoke, it was with a rasping, grating voice, but soft, like sand, "There are no fires to be put out, here, my friend."

Liana smiled softly, and gave a slight shake of her head. "I am not here for that. I have never seen this cave before, I wanted to explore. Do you live here? Did you make this?" She would approach closer, but not too close. She simply stood still and smiled. "I'm Liana. I've traveled this path a lot, I have never seen this cave before. So to suddenly see it now, I'm surprised."
