Synchronize, the world's first Augmented Reality MMORPG, just connect to the always present AR Field and you can be running, jumping, and fighting dangerous creatures all over your own neighborhood. The game was an instant hit, with millions of players world wide, however little do any of them know that the game is actually a cover for a centuries old war between Alchemists and the Magical Creatures that wish to wreak havoc on our world as they did in ancient times.
Looking for people to play as members of a small party that eventually find out about the game's true purpose and work to save the world... or something like that.
About the Game
Synchronize is an Augmented Reality MMORPG that's primary focus is hunting and battling ancient "Magical Creatures" with high tech cybernetic equipment known as Gadgets. All players have what is called Synch Points, which are represented by a Synch Bar underneath their HP Bar; like mana in fantasy games, Synch Points are required for players to use Gadgets. Activating a Gadget uses up a certain number of Synch Points, so one can use multiple Gadgets at once provided they have the Synch Points to activate them, further more Synch Points regenerate over time but not while a Gadget is in use. Receiving damage also regenerates Synch Points, even while a Gadget is in use, however Synch to Damage ratio is so low that it is not a very viable tactic to use in battle. As far as story goes, there really isn't one, or at least it has little impact to how players play the game, it's just "kick ass boss fights" akin to Monster Hunter for the most part, as such there are "Quests" that can be fulfilled for rewards and status upgrades.
About the Factions
In actually, Synchronize is a cover for the Alchemists' efforts to keep the world safe from the Magical Creatures that were banished from the real world centuries ago. As such, all of the enemies in Synchronize are actually real monsters that exist on a separate plane of existence, all trying to find their way back into the real world. The AR Field that players connect to is an artificial way of connecting to this "Astral Plane" to combat these creatures. The game itself was developed by a group known as the Alchemists; the precursor to modern scientists, they have been around since ancient times developing methods to combat and manipulate the arcane using scientific methods. That being said, they are different from Mages, humans that can naturally manipulate the arcane that once ruled over the world with their terrifying power, until the Alchemists managed to best them and thus usher in the modern age of Science. Of course, Mages are still out there, perhaps you are one of them, and most are always seeking an opportunity to reclaim their rule over the world.

Magic is rare. Some of the players might have it. There may be sages or other magical figures that could be sought out for tutelage.
Further future, perhaps visit mars or upload your brain
More combat than not. The setting may be at war, and the characters will likely get involved whether or not they seek it out.

I don't know if I'll be able to join, given my very, very, inconsistent schedule, but if more detail was given, I would try to commit. Possibly give Gadget Types. Weapons? Armor mechanics? Base Stats, you know that stuff.
