So um, I have a question obviously. A friend bought me a box of chocolates and I got some days of being an Epic member from it. My question is about some extra permanent slots I haven't used, and the temporary ones I'm receiving.
First off, when I create a character, will it use the permanent ones first and then the temporary ones?
The second question is if it does go through the permanent ones first. If so, if I use all the permanent ones and then some of the temporary slots before my epic runs out, and then delete those I made on the permanent slots when I return to being a regular member, will I get the slots back? Or just unlock that number of temporary ones to edit?

Characters are not linked to a specific "slot" or slot type.
How it works is this -- your characters are put in order from oldest to newest. We count the number of slots you have available (of any type). If you have fewer slots than characters, your first (the oldest characters) get to be in those slots. The characters at the end of that list (your newest) get locked until they have a slot to occupy. That might happen because you purchased more slots or you deleted characters that were in front of them in line to occupy the number of slots you have. Essentially, first come, first serve.
Deleting characters has no impact on the quantity of slots linked to your account, permanent, temporary, or otherwise.

I'm not sure I understand.. But I also don't know what to ask so I do understand..
Let's say you have 5 permanent slots and 5 from Epic. You have 4 characters (Adam, Bertrom, Carri, and Devon), and make 3 more (Earl, Frick, and Gallion), using 7 slots total.
Now your epic runs out, locking Frick and Gallion. If you delete Adam, Frick will become unlocked, because he's the older of the two. If you delete Frick and Adam, then Gallion becomes editable. I hope that makes it clearer for you!

So in my case I have 4 permanent and 10 temporary open. If I use say 7, the first four I made would fall under the permanent slots and the other three would remain temporary until I delete older characters or get more permanent slots?
You have:
10 basic slots (on every single account, 10 permanent free slots, this is default)
10 Epic slots for as long as your Epicness lasts
Any individual slots you purchase additionally are counted towards your total.
Assuming you have only your 10 basic slots and 10 Epic slots, you have 20 slots total.
If you create a total of 18 profiles, and your Epicness expires, your 8 most recently created profiles are locked down from editing. The 10 oldest profiles can be edited at all times because you created those first.
You can delete any 8 profiles to bring your total count down to 10 and every profile will be editable again. The system works by total number of slots and with a range of newest to oldest profiles.
If you have individual extra slots, your count of permanent slots is higher, but the same technique applies. (For example, if you have 4 extra permanent slots, your account will always have 14 permanent slots, not 10.)
Does this help?

Does this help?
Yeah, I guess it does.
