Lidia Foster (played by PenGryphon2007) Topic Starter

Lidia brightened. "Half human and half dragon? That's an interesting mix." And possibly her clue into the dragon world.

She turned on Falthern, approaching him warily; her whip dragged in the dirt behind her. "So, what are you?" she asked. She peered at his helmet, noting his eyes and the strangeness of them. "Not human, not dragon," she seemed to be sizing him up, analyzing him. But she was at a loss due to all the armor. Clearly he was ready for a fight.
Faltharn (played anonymously)

"A knight.", Faltharn says matter-of-factly. A sufficient answer, in his mind.

He notices Lidia move towards him, and he walks towards her as well - only to pass right by her. Even though he is now standing tall and proud between her and the dragon, he doesn't relax in the least. "I don't much care what you say you are - I see a dragon. Soon to be a dead dragon if it doesn't turn around and go. I won't warn a third time."
David (played by Rudito01)

David turned human and walked to wards him. "is this better?"

Lidia turned as the "knight" walked past her to stand between her and David. She readied her whip with a short snap of her wrist, uncoiling its length in case things got serious.

But she had to grin when David found the loophole in Faltharn's argument. "I guess that solves the problem then, fair knight?" Lidia asked, her eyes bright with amusement.

Even prefering discretion, sometimes someone... Can't be discrete. At first, the beast approaching by sky had stayed wrapped in the clouds, which moved like an enormous, dark, water-filled anvil and churned outward, feigning thunder with wingflaps. Soon, the sky darkened. By land's appearance over the sea, likely still some great distance away, he decided he was tired. The wyrm, a marvel of over five hundred feet, with dark blue scaling, descended heavily--and I do note heavily--in the distance. Birds paniced, somewhere a moose bayed, trees cracked and the earth shook for miles. Oops. His features, large or not, were probably hard to identify from so far away, but there was no mistaking him as dragon. His head lowered like a guilty puppy, fans along the side of his head pulling back before he buried himself in the deeper trees. A skink-like body frame would have made navigation a pinch, were he not a behemoth. His wings popped up at telling angles, and any low canopy still betrayed him as he (c, mobile)

--hugged the earth. The path behind him made a V from the forest growth--trees included, and he popped his head up. Had he been detected? He had easily quickly cleared distance with even slow stride from his size (though he had seemed to try to scurry...fatly), where perhaps the throbbing, froglike throat was noticeable, or the age--best seen at range from the deterioration of his fins. Over his head they began to slump like a thin line of hair--all cowlicks--and at the cheeks they nearly replicated whiskers. In many ways his head was malformed. The former smooth head of his species had become blocky, cragged even, with mismatched teeth jutting from the maw, and a squared off nose obscuring most of his vision. It forced him to look about almost birdishly, with small eyes almost lost on the head... Which, apparently, had never quite stopped growing. Then again, neither had the rest of him. Where was a discrete spot to transform? Well, considering from the flight he was heaving like an old dog in midsummer (c)

Heat at x100 scale... Probably nowhere. Still, without sensing large demonic auras about, he imagined it was safe and curled up. Just for a minute. Trees rearranged around him in a poor attempt to cover the mountain (next to the real mountain) he made when he curled up. There was almost instantly thunderous snoring.

((addendum: to avert player confusion, zenthus and this dragon are seperate entities. the dragon is the highly aged zento, written of in "evolution". He will not match physical or personality descriptions of his demonic counterpart. I just need to get on a real computer so I can rearrange the profile for Zento to be dominant. Zenthus is retired.)
Faltharn (played anonymously)

Faltharn sighs loudly. "A wolf in sheep's clothing. If after my warnings you insist on this, you deserve your fate." And with that, he turns around and leaps away. First to get his backpack, and then to move on. There are probably other places to hunt dragons - places without people making his job harder than it already is. And that's where he's heading.

Goodbye, Dragon's Fang.
David (played by Rudito01)

"what was that guys problem?" asked David looking at Lidia. He walked to her and stretched his hand to her "now let me introduce myself properly. I'm David Dragon-Vein. Orphan and a decerted warrior"

Lidia watched the knight creature hop off, its jumps and speed amazing for the armor that it carried seemingly effortlessly. "I don't know if I trust him wandering off like that," she said, wondering if she should go after him.

She looked back to David and smiled. "It is a pleasure to meet you, David Dragon-Vein. Deserted warrior? Did your companions leave you behind?" And that was when she felt the ground shudder beneath her. Something very big had landed somewhere nearby.

She scanned the area, looking for the disturbance and found it almost immediately--at least, she was fairly certain that hill that just appeared to the west hadn't been there before. And then there was the massive rumbling that seemed to come from nowhere. "Um, is that thunder?"
David (played by Rudito01)

"no. It's your lucky day I think there is another dragon among us"
The Serpentmasters (played by Minerva)

Well, the mountain and the thirty foot wide new trail blazed into nature. Forgive an old wyrm, his eyes get heavy easily, and apparently the girth of his sinuses didn't grow as much as the rest of his skull. Even if they had been close his eyes would have been nearly undetectable, lost in their giant brows and pits. scales were cragged, pointed, and fading between various shades of blue but elsewise easily mistaken as closely clustered rocks. The breeze of ancient dragon breath, however, was less than natural. Anyone approaching had darn well hold their breath.

Lidia brightened. "We should check it out!" She coiled her whip again and clipped it to her waist, before grabbing her backpack and heading down the path. Where she promptly stopped and looked at David.

Well, she really shouldn't even ask. They had only just met...and it would be really dangerous. "Do...do you think you could give me a lift?" she asked hesitantly. "Or can you only manage yourself?"
David (played by Rudito01)

"I'm a two hundred ton dragon I think I can lift more than a human" said David changing into his dragon form.

The power nap was brief, especially by draconic standard. Like a narcoleptic catching up, 'small' eyes fluttered open. A crataceous cry was actually involuntary from the yawn big enough to half a seaworthy vessel, froggish throat flapping out and gurgling out hidden water, which drooled out attractively as it looked around. Where was he? It took him a minute to remember what he was doing. He laid back down, making curious gesture of stubby hand propping up overgrown head. ...and snored, though less thunderously. The swelling of the throat bag returned it to quiet squeeking, when it wasn't being laid on. It apparently missed the others in the ten seconds it had been awake. Zzz.

She stepped back as David transformed and if her whip hadn't been clipped to her waist, she would have dropped it. "Whoa. When did you find out you could do that?"

She readily enough clambered up his back, using one front leg to get a purchase so she could reach his back. And then she settled herself between his wings and clung on tight. Right. This was either going to be fun, terrifying, or some combination of the two.

Unless she fell, in which case, terrifying ending in dying would be the result. "Just, uh, try not to bank too sharply?" she asked. And then she heard that creatceous, unnatural cry from the hill out yonder.

"Thank you, David," she added. "I really appreciate this."
David (played by Rudito01)

"there is no need to thank me. It's the least I could do for a friend. Besides I'm not going to leave a femail to fend for herself." he sais taking off "and don't worry about falling I'll catch you" he said turning his neck to see her. He opened his mouth showing all his sharp teeth in a dragon like smile

The Thinker pose was interrupted as he stirred. Right! Dragons. Aptly named places usually at least had traces. And, with the dragon slayer's influence, the numbers of his homeland were greatly diminished. Now, though--now, he was gone. They could rebuild and--oh, look. A dragon. His fin remnants, more like whiskers, rose like a cat's ears in interest as he turned his head. His eyes were nearly no good these days, but a plentiful array of aura and heat sensing kept him from being utterly blind. -Wrrrmp- was the heavy sound he made trying to push himself up. Which, for a grand beast, was a fairly funny affair of shaking knees wider than redwoods. Oh, well. They seemed to be coming his way. That makes it easier. He slumped his rear back down and sat like an average quadruped. As they neared, their view would be the broadside of the head, so as to allot one pit for solid viewing. Hn. Draconic in shape, but not in full size--and head to tail meant nothing of it. Something drew a disgruntled rumble.

"Um, please don't smile like that..." Lidia almost whimpered when the rows of shiny, sharp dragon teeth were bared at her. She wasn't daft, though some would call her that for riding a dragon. But she knew what parts of a dragon to avoid--namely the teeth and tail--if she wanted to keep herself in one piece. And the whip was more for preventative measures anyway against both ends.

She clung as they lifted off into flight and headed for the hill--which was moving! Her breath came in gasps, as much from the joy of flying as from the realization that this second dragon was huge.

She flattened herself to David's back, watching in horror and fascination as they drew closer to the huge dragon. One of these days she was going to get eaten, that little voice in the back of her mind muttered.
